3 players suspended from school for 3 days, I am almost positive they will not be able to play tomorrow. Possibly some in-school suspension for some other players. Whether you think this is too little or too much punishment, punishment was given and that sends the message that it will not be tolerated, or at least there will be consequences for that type of behavior. More punishment would not have changed the fact that it happened. So, with that said, let's move on and support the players, remember no matter who the coaches are, or if you "like" them or not, these are Bledsoe County's children wearing the "Blue & Gold", and I think they deserve the backing of the community for that reason alone. I disagree 200%, obviously these players love to play football, so you are going to punish everyone on the team by not playing? If something bad happens or people make mistakes, just quit, don't play. Is that the message you want to send? I want to send the message " People make mistakes and life goes on".

I would assume Coach Reel will be the interim head coach. I hear player suspensions if any will be announced today. And please if there are any player suspensions DO NOT NAME NAMES(FIRST OR LAST) ON HERE!

If there are not any student suspensions I think the team can use this as a rallying point and hopefully become a team(all grades). Also the upper classmen who are the leaders of this team need to talk to the entire team, and admit mistakes made, and let them know it will not happen again and that they are as much a part of this team as any other player. The news has blown this out of proportion(not saying that what happened wasn't bad, but the news makes it sound even worse, the only place I have heard anything about "BATS" is the news), then the flag upside down on top of it, which could have been an innocent mistake, should have been caught but I am sure everyone had other things on their mind. As with the coaches past and present, it is our team and our county, so like it or not it is OURS. As far as the program goes I think we will rally around the team this year, and will probably see some changes in years to come. Right now it is going to be difficult(if not impossible) to make everyone feel that justice was done with the present situation. I am pretty sure the last thread got deleted. Indian/moderator: I agree the other threads should have been deleted/closed, but this is what is happening with OUR high school football program right now and I don't think this thread should be closed for discussing this subject. Does "taking care of the field" mean mowing? This is a class, the teacher should be there!

Couple of Questions: 1. Did this happen during the "football class" during school? 2. If yes to #1 where was the "teacher/Coach"?

I am not involved with the middle school program but they are 1 - 1 and did not look good against Jasper at all, from what I hear. I also heard Dayton City turned the ball over 5 or 6 times, so I will reserve my opinion on the middle school staff for a later date.12 & 13 year olds would only be questioning the high school coach because their parents are doing it. I can't for the life of me figure out who you are, oh well, I won't lose any sleep over it. I really doubt there are 3 parents at the middle school who will talk to you.LOL

I don't really think the few on this board reflects the attitude of the entire community, maybe they do? With where this program was the 5 years prior to Coach Roberson, it was next to impossible for him to turn the way of thinking around for the community, then throw in how he was hired, no interviews and that just piled more on Hubert, that was not really his fault, just as the Boynton 5 year span was not Hubert's fault. But it is what it is and I doubt Hubert would change much about the past even if he could, I mean this has to be his dream job, as a coach to be at your alma mater, and I definately do not blame him for taking it. He had an exceptional group of athletes last year and everyone thinks the team underachieved, this year he does not have as many athletes or seniors and the games are showing it, the group of seniors is small and if you take out the ones who have played all 4 years it gets even smaller. As far as can the community support this team? Yes, we still put their butts in the seats at home games, when those home side bleachers are empty you will know you have lost all support, until then, Houston, you know as well as anyone else people are going to blame the coach for the bad, if they don't blame him who else is there? The kids? parents?, no, they are going to blame the coach and that's not going to change, it happens everywhere, it's just most places throw a winning season in there every couple or three years to kind of offset the bad.

I'm surprised BBoys, usually you wait for peeps to get on the coach before you start defending him. I guess you are getting a leg up on the competition. Just the fact that you(who never dogs a coach) made that small comment about "questionable play calling" speaks volumes to me personally. Anything but a knee in the situation you described is the definition of classless. We know the refs are tough on us across the mountain, we have to work harder and not allow them to be a factor in a close game. I may be wrong but I thought a ref ran the clock at high school games, even if they do not have the sideline remote, I thought a ref went in the press box to run it. I hope Dumlap is not as good as their record shows, if they are we may be looking at an 0'fer, maybe we can beat Cannon.
