  1. Bledsoe vs Sequatchie for district title. I know it has been 30 plus years(or longer) since Bledsoe Baseball has been in title game. I wonder if these two teams have ever met for district championship?
  2. Bledsoe 4 to 1 over Signal to move into the final.
  3. I think Bledsoe's field will be ok to play on today.
  4. What will happen if both games are unable to be played today or tomorrow?
  5. Bledsoe finished 5-5, swept by CCS, split with everyone else. I think the final standings will be: 1. Signal 2. Dunlap(by sweeping CCS they get tiebreak) 3. CCS 4. Bledsoe 5. ND 6. Grundy I think Bledsoe host ND and CCS host Grundy in play in games. Winners go to 3 game series with 1 and 2 seeds, which I think are all played in dunlap.
  6. We need Grundy and ND to get a win tonight and us take care of signal.
  7. 4 teams tied at 4 - 4. Bledsoe must sweep Signal and have Chatt Christian get no better than a split with Notre Dame. If all that happens, Bledsoe, I think, will win the regular season district title. I do not remember a season where all teams were this close. I know Signal has a 6 - 2 mark, but I think Notre Dame gave them their two losses and Bledsoe swept Notre Dame. Tournament should be fun to watch.
  8. First, congratulations to Bledsoe on the best team this county has seen in 30 years or more. These young men played their hearts out all year, undersized almost every game, and I know alot of fair weather fans will say it happened because of Worthington, and he was definately a huge part, but could not have had the season we had without the rest of the players playing the way they did. Second, the game against Dekalb, was an excellent game to watch, and the outcome did not diminish my respect for our team at all. To borrow an old cliche "Bledose left it all on the court", we had a few missed opportunities as did Dekalb, but up 1 at the end of the third, we definately had a shot and Dekalb played better than we did in the 4th, period. Third, I agree with a post on here, the reason 8AA is better is because of the coaching. In no way is this meant to disrespect your players, but I realize how much difference a good coach can make. Fourth, If I was from Dekalb I would secretly be glad how the game was officiated, as I am from Bledsoe I would have like to have gotten a few reaching/hacking calls as we were bringing the ball up the court. Not saying the outcome would have changed. I would also have liked to have made a few more free throws, cudos to Dekalb on the free throwing, I would guess you shot close to 90% from the line and championship teams must do. Fifth and final, I could say good luck to Dekalb, but to be honest I dont care either way who wins another high school basketball game this year, IT'S BASEBALL TIME, BABY!
  9. I believe Bledsoe has the rare combination of having confidence that they can win while at the same time having the aforementioned chip on their shoulder that they are supposed to lose. We had 2 starters shoot terrible in first half against cannon and two other starters kept us in it, one by shooting and other by rebounding. As I have said before we have the opportunity to get the win and don't know that that has been said in a while at least in the region. Either way I have enjoyed watching this group all year and they have accomplished alot as far as Bledsoe County Men's Basketball is concerned. 2012-2013 Bledsoe County Men's Basketball 1st District Championship in 30 years Least home losses ever at 2 1st region win, not sure how long ago, but would guess more than 30 years 1st 20 win regular season ever I am sure there are more but you get the picture as to what this team has accomplished.
  10. Boys beat ccs fairly handedly last night, signal Tuesday at 7pm cst in dunlap for the district title.
  11. Alright, girls get started tonight. The "Chattanooga" paper certainly pumped "Chattanooga" christian up as the best team in the district, we find out tonight. I am picking Bledose by 8.
  12. Major congrats to Grundy. Heck of an upset, do the same to Signal and we'll hopefully have a SVC Final!
  13. They did the same thing to Bledsoe the 2nd game, actually held the ball the first 4 minutes of the game before taking a shot. We should be better prepared this time around.
  14. Early on, I can't argue with you, as of late, we have had other players step up, he has gotten better looking for assist and not "settling" for the jump shot. I believe we "should" win district tourney and as stated earlier, the only thing I will be surprised about in the region is if we get embarrassed. There are times "not allowing" him to finish at the rim is easier said than done. I would guess that every team we have played this season has had the same game plan, "stop Worthington", 21 wins and 6 losses, say that for whatever reason, this plan does not always work for them.
  15. Bledsoe was at VanBuren last night and Worthington fouled out with 6:16 left in 2nd quarter, Bledsoe was up 20 to 13 at that point and led 41 to 17 at half and won 83 to 44. I am not saying this team doesn't need worthington, especially in district/region but we do have other players who can score/play defense/rebound and make athletic plays. Bledsoe will have a chance to compete for the region title/runner up spots but must have all players be on and not have anyone get in foul trouble early. If hale or mccloud get hot, Worthington is Worthington, Frechette and campbell give us the defense/rebounding, and get good minutes off the bench from warden, cagle, and boynton they can be competitive in region tourney. But I guess alot of teams can say that if all that goes well for them, lol. I guess my prediction will be that we do not get embarassed, which is what happened in the region tourney the last two years, we should at least be competitive with district 8AA, top to bottom.
  16. And Indian falls silent midway through the year. Just like football!
  17. Dumlap loses to Chatt. Christian, and Signal(again), Bledsoe blows out ND, and gets 2nd win vs Signal, Look for a very different outcome when dumlap heads north next week. Only surprise in district is Signal finishing 2nd with ND 3rd. I don't see anyone winning in region, possibly Bledsoe since they will be playing 4th seed, but after that likely over. It will take all 3 offensive starters having good games and 4 to 8 points and good defense and rebounding from other two starters for them to win more than one game in the region.
  18. A dogfight to see who finishes second in the district to the Warriors.
  19. Actually I am pretty sure that we have won more than we lost over the last 6 years or so against North Kimball.
  20. Should be a good one next Friday as North Kimball comes to town.
  21. I have not seen very much or heard very much about us. I know we are coming off a district title year and lost some important contributors on both sides of the ball to graduation. Rebuilding year? or just reloading?
  22. What you see is pretty much what we got. We have 17 players on the team and that's it. The state of the program the last 5 or 6 years has killed numbers, hopefully the new and current coaching staff can change this. BTW Bledsoe tied Notre Dame 3-3, was up 3 - 1 till bottom of last inning and beat East Ridge 5 - 3, I realize these scrimmages mean nothing in regular season but we can compete. Also to be fair Ooltewah beat us like 10 - 0 and Soddy beat us 8 - 1. I would guess we were not the only team slammed by Ooltewah though.
