  1. and she is also a great kid! Great job SOOZ we still love you back here in Germantown TN!
  2. Good Luck to both teams! They are both deserving of being right where they are. We of course are pulling for Collierville, since we know so many of those girls from playing club ball with or against them for over ten years... Anna, Jordan, Lane, Morgan (chickenwing), Melody, Carolyn (Norm), Kelsey(Kmonster), Taylor, Ali, Shannon, best of luck and you deserve it! Love you all!
  3. I say her play last week against Houston, and she was extremely good. She made several saves and played incredible.
  4. GO MUSTANGS! BRING HOME THE TITLE! HOUSTON WINS 2-1
  5. that is totally what my point is. and I seriously doubt any of us "calm and cool" adults could pull off that kind of pressure in our daily lives...
  6. you know, though, that has to be the most intense pressure that some of these players have probably ever experienced. Can you imagine? Being 16 or 17 years old, being put in front of screaming fans, who are all of the sudden so eerily silent your heart is all you hear, and it is you and a goalie... yikes! Hats off to the girls... i could never do what you do in regulation game time, much less handle taking PK's or facing a PK... you guys will be able to handle ANYTHING that life hands you if you handled that pressure!
  7. Historically, if you look at past brackets, the winner of the first bracketed game, ie the 11:30 game, the winner of that is typically state champ... that is where Houston was last year... is that what you meant?
  8. collierville wins 1-0 lane poley scored
  9. Thank you for the update! My daughter was one of the PK shooters... the first... sad way to end a season. Good luck to the remaining teams, but i am Pulling for the Dragons from COLLIERVILLE!
  10. thanks! I will check back soon! by the way, you do an AWESOME job!
  11. any score at the half or anything on this game?
  12. i am a Houston Parent, who is still in Germantown, left behind and waiting for word on results. thanks for the kind words on a great group of ladies. You guys have no idea how hard it is to be here and have your kid across the state competing in a huge event like this. Houston is a great team. and Team is the key part. We have 24+of the most talented players in Shelby County, some of who are superstars in their own rights. But that never transcends to the field. I hope you are right about our repeat... they do deserve it. Irby and Wolff are two of the most fantastic coaches in the world. Thanks for the words on the girls and the assessment of the game. GO MUSTANGS
  13. yes. we played them early in our season, 0-0 tie. we played them last week for the regional title, beat them 2-1. The two schools are within five miles of each other, and all the girls are friends off the field, they are a great team. Lane Poley is an amazing girl, she plays club with my daughter and she is super fast! Good for Laney!
  14. good for the WEST side of the state! other than Layne Poley, any names on who scored for Collierville?
  15. I agree with you on these predictions, but the keeper for Collierville is not as solid as it appears. she has an awesome field of players in front of her, and a fast forward will score on her. I wish the best to all the teams!

    rankings

no, they played their starting keeper, Whitney Thacker. Hutchison is an awesome team. and they have show it this past two weeks by beating Houston and Collierville, as well as tying St. Agnes.
  17. totally agree with you about Sarah White, and she is the nicest girl i have ever met. she is now on my daughter's club team!
  18. My daughter has had knee problems for the past year, mostly due to growth issues and repetative motions of soccer. she has to wear braces on both knees for a syndrome called plica syndrome. it comes from the over development of the muscles in the thigh, without the development in proportion in the inner thigh... so the knee cap floats off center and rubs/inflames the inner tissue in the knee... a GREAT source for information would be Campbell Clinic in Memphis. Our doctor there is Dr. Frederick Azar... he is great, but any of them are equally as knowledgable. since the women's sports have advanced to such a competitive level, the injuries that some women are experiencing are totally new for these doctors. some times they do not have a clue how to treat the injury in a woman because our bodies are made up so differently, from smaller waist and larger hips, to all kinds of things. The rise in women's injuries will continue as more women are competing a much higher levels than women ten years ago, even five, and at much earlier ages. It has inspired my daughter to pursue sports medicine as a field of study, with specialization in women's injuries. good luck on your paper.
  19. I am sensing a very similar state tourney as the girls... from the fall... and I would not count the Houston Mustangs out at all... just ask the Farragut girls.
  20. Soccer is our sport, but there is a freshman at Houston High, Kristin Emerling. Supposed to be awesome. She is over six feet tall!
  21. more due to the fact that they wanted to win over Houston due to their old Coach is now one of the two coaches at Houston... not to slight them, but facts are facts
  22. Houston High School has a very good freshman team and all nine of them play in the JV games as well.
  23. Lauren Roberts from houston high school is one of the best basketball players i've ever seen! shes at least 5'10 and plays as a guard! she has a dead on shot and some of the best defense you will see in the state! GO HOUSTON!
