Cumberland Gap travels to Chuckey Doak this Friday for their second region game. The Panthers are coming off an impressive region win over South Greene and a bye week. C-D isn't bad at all. I heard they gave Gatlinburg a fit before getting blew out later. This should be a good game and the Panthers will have to play if they expect to be 2-0 in the region. The bye week should have given them a chance to rest and heal up and I expect them to look sharp this week. CG-40 C-D-14

Same old story, same old song and dance for CC. Defense holding their own, offense struggling. This should not be. The offense was supposed to be the one to carry the team this year. Unbelieveable how things have gotten worse in CC land after they "turned the program around" last year. Wake up CC boys...it aint last year. Get off your high horse and play football. Great job Panthers. I told you it would come down to defense and it did. South Greene appeared to tire early in the 1st half and it continued on to the second half. CG's players were obviously in better condition than the rebels. Great job by Sellars. The Xtra pt. and then the field goal. Turned out to be the difference maker. Anyways, great job Panther D, you all are startin to come alive. Next up is Chuckey Doak in two weeks, be ready and take it to them. I'll give my prediction for that next week. It's good to be confident #82, but don't get too cocky. South Greene has a fullback that will beat your brains in if you let him. I hope you guys have a great game passing and running, but let's not forget that South Greene killed you all last year. Have some pride and take it to them tonight. I think South Greene operates out of the I formation and run some option and lead stuff at ya. Their fullback is a brute from what i hear. Laws is his name i think. If CG can't stop the run this week, it's gonna be a long night for the Panthers. But I'm hopin they will and I'm gonna stick to my prediction. CG-32 South Greene-28 Panther Pride!!

This game will be decided by one factor...Defense!!! Who can stop who. Can South Greene stop the CG passing attack, and can CG stop the South Greene rushing attack. Hoskins (CG) has 7 TD passes in the first two games. Laws (SG) has about 350 yds rushing and 4-5 TDs in their first two games. This oughta be fun!! Im gonna change my prediction a little bit on this one. The team with the better defense will win. CG-32 South Greene-28 Panther Pride!!

Well first of all, CG's lines are not slow and certainly not small. All I know is this Cumberland Gap has got a pretty good team this year and is looking for a big region win. South Greene had best not be too confident heading into this one or it could be a long night for them. Like I said before, the CG defense will have to step up and play big just like last week or they will get beat. I expect a good hard fought contest between two pretty good ball clubs. Boy this should be a good one! Being from Cumberland Gap, I've got to see both of these teams in action. We scrimmaged Oneida in the preseason, and of course came up short against Coalfield in the opener. Coach Wamp and the boys at Oneida are good friends and I hope they do well. You Coalfield folks aint too bad yourselves!! Outta be good one and I can't wi to hear the score, hopefully after a CG win of course!! Best of luck to both teams. Well the "preseason" is over and its time for the region to start. CG is coming off a big win over Rutledge on Friday. It should be a good game. South Greene routed the Panthers last year and the boys from the Gap are lookin for a little payback. The defense will have to step up and play another great game for the Gap to have a chance. I hope they are as ready to play this week as they were last week. South Greene has a good team and they are coming off a loss to a pretty good Daniel Boone team. They should be ready, the Gap should be ready. I think we're in for a goodern!!! CG-24 South Greene-14

Thanks for the compliments box! Im sure kev was just rooting for his team and thats all. It was a good game by both teams. The hit at the end of the half by Clemons i think was the turning point of the game. I wasnt sure why Rutledge didnt try to run the ball more, but im not on their sidelines. Its like ive been saying all along, this will not be a blowout by either team , but in the end, cg will win. they are in good condition, and the type of offense they run, if youre not in good condition, you will be dragging in the 2nd qtr! yes rutledge is always big, but cg is not going to be a pushover! i hope rutledge has a great season, but after tonite i hope theyre 0-2!!! Rutledge does have more athletes than usual this year. And yes, they can do something with it when they throw it to them. But they don't want to throw the ball, never have. CG defends the pass every single day in practice, a whole lot of passes at that!! I think it will be a good game, and if it isn't I'll take my hats off to Rutledge.

OK, OK...CG can't stop the run, I understand what you are saying. But you gotta realize this, they got embarrassed last year and will play their tails off to avenge that this year. There's alot of pride over in CG land. Rutledge is a good team. CG has the potential to be a good team. And what if...CG can stop the run? Is Rutledge's O-line as good as they were last year. Heck, I run about 7 flat 40 time, i coulda rushed for 150 behind that line! I heard they lost a few of the hogs up front from last year that really did dominate CG. But on the flipside, CG did pretty good against a Coalfield line that man for man, is as strong as anybody. IM JUST HOPING FOR A GOOD GAME IS ALL! CG-30 RUTLEDGE-20

Last year is not this year. Yes Cherokee is 4A, but not a very good 4A team. Coalfield is 1A, and by some polls were ranked preseason #1. CG didnt look too darn bad against coalfield, and should have beat them. From what i hear, rutledge struggled with Cherokee, but i guess we'll have to see Friday. I'll stick with, CG-30 Rutledge-20

cg finished in a 3 way tie for third.. got the 5th seed because they were last in the tiebreaker. so they didn't finish in 5th place
