Ron Gray from Oak Ridge would be an excellent choice. And it would make the Oak Ridge/Ooltewah game the best in the state this year. Look at his numbers, I think he averaged like 45 pts a game last year. When will they make decision? Have interviews started?

You would have to be a plum fool not think 45 pts. a game was good. And to score 28 on Riverdale, wow, if Oak Ridge had played better defense against the pass they would have been State Champs. According to the rumors, today is the day. It should be a doozy, I was told that it will be a shock. Is it going to be long time assistant Coach Ron Gray, he has paid his dues, he scores points, and from what I read on here he is a player favorite. Or will they update to the 21st Century and pick a minority native son from AE. Coach Stevens is a fine coach, with a state title in 3A, and he can feed the lines to people like no other or is it time for compassion, the return of the last state champion head coach, Joe Gaddis. Knowing Oak Ridge I am sure this thing is out of control by now and there are backdoor deals being cut left and right. Well at least that's the word out here in middle TN. My choice is still General Neyland, clone him!

Are the rumors true? Will Oak Ridge announce this week? Possibly tomorrow or is just that , rumors. This search is like a soap opera, but oh so fun to watch. Who knows those scientists out there might be able to bring back General Neyland? I'd come watch!

I spoke with a buddy of mine from Oak Ridge the other day. Some fans contacted Rankin, not the schools. From what I can get, Bibee is the one who withdrew from considerations, I am sure he had some incentives in Chattanowhere $$$$. Right now its a race between two candidates one on staff and one from Austin East. The guy on staff is the OC and the one from Austin East is an alum. So I bet it will be a doozy of a week for the AD.

Why do they only allow 2 assistants to be paid? How can any staff be state champion caliber? ANd what a growing area.

Sounds like things are mess in Oak Ridge. That Gaddis fellow was a good coach, but its hard not be with the stable of athletes he had, heck just roll out the ball. Why did he ever leave? Wasn't something he was doing outside of football? Anyhow, all I know is Oak Ridge looked good last year, I watched the Riverdale game. If there defense could have stepped it up they would have won, but you can ask your offense to score everytime they have the ball. I was most impressed with how the scored on Riverdale, I think at some points they had Rankin confused, which is a task in itself. Oak Ridge is bringing back 18 starters or so. They are gonna be tough.

It's a shame the two best teams in the state had to match up in the Semi's. Franklin, a good team, very competitive, but there is no doubt they could not match up with Riverdale or Oak Ridge. I wish those two teams could have rematched tonight instead of this debacle. Franklin looked like a bunch of kids. TSSAA needs to stop protecting the schools in 5A in Nashville and let them play DB, Oak Ridge, and Riverdale throughout the playoffs, so they don't set themselves up for dissappointment in the title game. I watched the state championship on Friday. Riverdale vs. OR. Franklin is going to get slaughtered on the turf. THere is no doubt OR is the second best team in the state. They had Riverdale beat, but the football gods saw things differently. A huge fumble, right in Keaton Anderson's hands, a great play by Rahmel Oliver and if the Warriors miss out on those it may be a different game. But they didnt miss out so it was not, but trust me Oak Ridge would be Franklin. That game was incredible, I was impressed with Oak Ridge. Ask any Riverdale fan, that is the best team they have seen all year long. Oh what a week! I cant wait, just got nice and fat again off turkey. The Cats are rolling into a trap I tell you. The Cats dont have a chance. I mean dont get me wrong they are a good team, but Riverdale is just unstoppable. I will be impressed if OR can stay within 21 of Riverdale. Oak Ridge is good, but Riverdale is unbelievable, they are all huge, fast, and wow, talk about an intimidating place to play.TOMAHAWK STADIUM is insane. Even the PA announcer wants to scalp you. I still think OR is out of their league, and btw I am from Fentress County, (York Dragons) not Clinton.

Poor Rockwood, needed to have some rockets shoved in their feet to stay with Alcoa. Lipscomb will be too much for the Tornadoes though.

Riverdale 56 Oak Ridge 7

I went to Oak Ridge on Friday night. They just outplayed DB, but DB was looking ahead to Riverdale, no doubt. Oak Ridge is good, and could definitely win the 4A state title, but playing with Riverdale is out of the question. They will be lucky to stay within 3 or 4, touchdowns. Riverdale will manhandle OR upfront on both sides. I ook for Gaston Miller to run wild, OR does not seem good enough upfront to make a difference. Riverdale wins BIG, gets their rematch with Germantown. GO Dragons

You could combine DB and Oak Ridge and not beat Riverdale. THey are simply unstoppable. I watched DB v. OR tonight. not really impressed with either team. RIverDale wins this one easy 56 to 0
