  1. I would put CSAS above Grace since they beat them by 8 at Grace.
  2. # 10 for Arts and Sciences is Malik Dodds, a junior.
  3. CSAS beats #4 Grace Academy 68-60 @ Grace!
  4. Grace is at home so that has to be an advantage for them. Grace also has key seniors that the Patriots don't have. It is Grace's game to lose....all the pressure is on their end. CSAS has won some pretty big games against some tough opponents and hopefully that will pay off tomorrow night and the rest of the year.
  5. CSAS 62- South Pittsburg 60. South Pitt looked to have one of their best teams in many years and did not change that by last night. A great game won by a shot at the buzzer!
  6. Top rated recruiting class performing up to expectations for Mc Callie!
  7. Does anyone have the schedule for tonight and Saturday?
  8. CSAS has the youngest team they have probably ever had. They will be playing Clay after playing Pickett an hour and a half before that so how accurate a test of these teams may not be real clear. I am sure that Clay and Pickett will both provide good tests for the young Patriots, which is why you play games like this for HOF.
  9. Who was not there? I saw them get blistered by Science Hill I if I am remembering correctly.
  10. Saw Grace at UTC team camp and was disappointed in how they looked. Expected them to look better. The Nelson kid can jump, but I did not see much else from him.
  11. Don't forget about the Chattanooga teams. Grace Academy lost some good players but still has some good ones back and CSAS is looking going to be very good next year (again). One change that will help CSAS is that they have moved to District 5-A with Grace for the regular season. Look for both of these teams to make a strong run to the Boro!
  12. Alexander and a young guy who used to go to Temple are the only coaches left from what I have heard. They are probably scheduled for volleyball, basketball, and baseball like last year but who knows if or what kind of teams they will have.
  13. Some at Grace are not too sad that Temple is looking somewhat shaky with the hope of picking up any of their promising young players......both of them!
  14. The administration at St. Bennedicts was especially impressed by Marcums ability to recruit and get kids in school. He should fit in fine there and in D-II.
  15. Based on Temple's own documented problems with the TSSAA and their administration illegally using the newspaper to recruit athletes, not students, there is no telling what team Temple will put on the court next year. Ask Marcum what Hamilton County middle school coaches he has been talking to trying to get their kids.....most of if not all of these kids cant pay their school fees let alone a private school tuition....but then the Temple coach already knows that and doesnt seem to see this as a problem.
  16. CCS has avoided public embarrassment about how they run their athletic program whereas Temple has not. Back to the topic of this thread, I have heard from a pretty reliable source that Marcum is really "beating the bushes" looking for players for next year, so maybe he hasn't gotten his new job yet!
  17. Has anyone ever sat behind the Temple bench at a basketball game? If you had, you would find it hard to see any difference between what the coaches say and how they act than many other schools that dont claim to STAND for anything. That goes for all of the coaches Sexton had at Temple, and certainly his most recent coach.
  18. The same logic that asks "what is wrong with a couple of kids enrolled at other school practicing and and being instructed by our coaches at Temple Academys spring football practices"!!!
  19. How many games did these returning players ( I assume your jv team) win last year? Who did they beat? I heard they were really bad! If this represents your return - explain who we should be looking for.
  20. The only "Dynasty" that I remember was a television show starring Joan Collins and Linda Evans and it got cancelled. What does he have left that will continue anything? No Jeremy Sexton, no 21st Century, no wins!
  21. I guess you could argue that "praying for athletes" rather than "praying for students" would be a violation of the "recruiting" rule since you are treating one different from than the other!
  22. Temple was good in '98 but CSAS was 20 to 30 points better than they were.......again, Temple was lucky that CSAS had moved up to AA that year. The silver ball this year? I agree with Indian, they won the games to get it so it is theirs.
  23. Like I stated earlier, Temple benefited from several schools moving out of class A. The '98 team you are talking about got "plastered" by CSAS in the last game of the regular season if memory serves me correctly. Icecold can probably shed some light on this for us. If CSAS had not moved up, Temple would not have even been to the state that year!
  24. I don't know what went into the decision for the Rev. Skogen to send his family to Temple, but my point was and is that regardless of success (and many factors can be entered in such as the strength of schedule for many of the early Temple teams this decade playing non-TSSAA teams / Boyd, CCS,and CSAS not being part of the district/region but in AA) Temple would have had good teams, but NO state titles without the Skogen family.
  25. Temple has accomplished a lot in the last many years, but to be fair it has been stated here many times that without the dispute that lead Rev. Skogen to pull his family from CCS and take them to Temple, this discussion would not be taking place. No Skogens no titles, no discussions. It seems that the only one who is taking serious offense to this line of discussion is Caleb Marc.....I mean Bigbird!
