  1. Thanks owl...just found that out. Looking forward to it....
  2. The Lions scrimmage Davidson Academy and the states #1 leading rusher on Friday. Not sure if it's home or away yet though.
  3. Camden won their scrimmage against Jackson South Side last Friday and will scrimmage Davidson Academy this Friday. Was out of town last week so I didn't see the game but some of the players said the Lions looked good...and fast. If they looked fast against South Side that is really saying something. I'll be there to check out the DA game...hopefully things continue to roll. Heard yesterday that during their scrimmage last week Waverly lost their starting QB with a torn ACL. From what I understand the only QB prospect they have now is a freshman. Tough break for the Tigers.
  4. So how does Cheatham, Harpeth and Creekwood travel? Big crowds to away games or just average? I already know how Stewart Co and Waverly do and I'm sure I can imagine all 10 parents that travel with Montgomery Central. Can we expect decent gates from you guys? Also, what kind of visitor seating does each school have? I can't think of an away game last year that Camden didn't top the number of home fans by at least 1 1/2 to 2 times. Pretty much the whole town shuts down, packs up and "Camden Caravan" is on the road again. I wondered if Coach Ward didn't try to schedule our "home town rivals" (McKenzie and Bruceton)for the first time in several years because of concerns about gate money.
  5. Camden will be alot stronger and faster on both sides of the ball compared to last season, but they will also be somewhat untested at some key positions on both lines and RB. But with alot more offensive weapons, I expect the offense to open up in a way it hasn't for the last few years. If our OC uses what he has to its greatest potential...this'll be an offense that will be hard to contain. But of course that is all speculation at this point... The season can't get here fast enough for me. Looking forward to the new region and also the return of McKenzie and Bruceton to the schedule. Right out of the gate McKenzie should give Camden all they want...it'll be quite the lithmus test for these young Lions. Good Luck to all this season...
  6. Camden returns plenty, but a couple players to watch this season for the Lions are Jordan Murphy DE and Kendrick Hudson RB. Murphy is a beast and Hudson has playstation moves. After the disappointing ending to last season, I have a very special feeling about Camden's squad this season. Bunch of big, strong(er) boys out there I'm tellin ya. Go LIONS!
  7. I know of two qualifying teams that dropped out of the 3rd ASA tourney because they caught so much flack for playing the second tourney after they had already won their berth. What some of these other teams don't realize is it's smart to let them play....all they can do is help a team looking for a berth by knocking out some of the other competition. But a lot of parents and some coaches aren't smart enough to figure that out so they gripe and the teams drop out, decide to play other tournaments and just move up an age division to get the competition they need to see before nationals. Hurts ASA big time but helps other sanctions, especially USFA and NSA, alot.
  8. You're right I did forget the Mustangs....if I'm not mistaken they have beat both the Force and the Fury already this year too.
  9. Fury '95 Nashville Cruisers Knoxville Lady Aces Knoxville Thunder Explosion
  10. Camden has a co-op with Big Sandy in regards to football. If the kid can find a way to get to practice....he can play. But why would Clarksburg kids play for Bruceton? Aren't they actually closer to Huntingdon or even West Carroll? BTW....Excited to see Bruceton and McKenzie back on the Lion schedule /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. As tough as Camden's schedule looks for this year, it's actually the easiest one the Lions have had for several years. I guess Coach Ward's taking it easy on em since we are playing a tougher district schedule. I'm just glad we get to play some of the old natural rivals like Bruceton and McKenzie again...although I do hate to get rid of Milan. Definitely won't hurt my feelings to not have to play Jackson Northside anymore though.
  12. I'm proud for the ladies from Unicoi. Our Lady Lions have been here 2 out of the last 3 years trying to take care of business against GP. Although we got close 2 years ago and this year it just wasn't meant to be, I'm glad someone finally was able to knock down Goliath. Congrats to your team...hopefully we'll meet up at state next season where Camden can try to knock down the new Goliath. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. I don't recall anyone bashing Unicoi. Since when did disagreeing with someone constitute bashing? Grow up.
  14. You know you are absolutely correct. The sad thing is that most fans across the state will never know anything at all about Unicoi except what is said on these boards about them. Those ladies worked hard and knocked off GP...something no one has been able to do in the last 6 years....that's an accomplishment no one can take away from them and they should be proud. But, in the next year the casual sports fan when asked what they know about Unicoi will remember they won the state championship yes, but they will also remember that someone claiming to be a part of their fanbase/team were classless when it came to that win. Bad to paint a whole community with the same brush as a few classless immature posters, but mark my words....it'll be remembered.
  15. You're no different than the ones you're griping about. Way to knock out the respect your team worked so hard to earn on the field. True class in action /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  16. Well it looks like this year Camden fans will at least have someone other than Waverly and Stewart Co fans to "discuss" stuff with /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Much more fun for me /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I can tell you what Camden will do next year, supposed weak region or not... 1. The Lions will line up against all comers, whether it's Little Mary School for the Blind or "God's Gift to Football" Central High. Win or lose, they will make you know you've played them... and make you like it too. 2. Win or lose, they will do so with class...nothing less is tolerated. No cut blocks or crack-backs, no cheap shots or late hits...just hard nose smash mouth football.....period. 3. The Lions have started a winning tradition in Camden and we've found out we like it that way. No team will prepare more, outwork or out-practice this bunch...guaranteed. There may be a team with more God-given talent on it...but there will not be a team we face that will work harder than us...that's a promise. So...anybody ready for a little football? only 3 months away....geez Go LIONS!
  17. Agreed... I know the family well and if Courtney is half as good on the diamond and in the classroom as Steph (and I know she will be) the team should count themselves lucky /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I look forward to our journeys to the east of the river next season. Should definitely make life alot more interesting in the spring.
  18. Top bracket: Westview plays Unicoi Lexington plays Chattanooga Christian Bottom bracket: Camden plays Gibbs Goodpasture plays Covington Thoughts?
  19. Some of us actually get out and see a little of the world outside our own tiny plastic bubble. I have opinions about alot of things...just ask /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  20. No... I'm stating the fact that Stephanie would stand out on any team...not just a weak HS team.
  21. Congrats to all the West TN teams headed to the 'Boro and good luck. See you there! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  22. No she's been a stand out player in the summer on a very good Nighthawks team also. I would agree that Saunders has been the best player in 11AA.
  23. TBALL, The "mommies & daddies" from both schools always dread to see this rematch coming every year at regionals. Camden and Creek Wood are HUGE softball rivals and have been battling it out since Creek Wood came into existence. Regardless of each teams' records, this is always a tough game and each team always gives it their all. I've even heard it said by some when these teams meet each other in tournaments they don't care if they win one game as long as they beat each other. Next year with both in the same district...it should get REAL interesting /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I think it's time to lay-off the whole Creek Wood vendetta if I were you. They are a very good team with a bunch of girls with alot of heart. You know the old saying about not being able to choose your parents? I think it applies here... Congrats to the Lady RedHawks on a great season. See you next year....
  24. Could be... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> But... I was right in front of them and I didn't see or hear anything that indicated they were cheering against Creekwood. Still think it was class move considering how heartbreaking last week must have been for them.
