  1. You may be right but… we did win 2 out of the 6 times our two teams met. One being the first conference game with the HILL and the other was defeating them as well as DB to win the DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP. We did however loose twice to them in the Arbys, once in conference play, and once in the Regional Semifinals. I do however have to throw in the 49-14 win over the Hill this past football season. All in all … I think we hold our own against AAAAA Science Hill!! THS enrolment = 1100 SHHS enrolment = 1949 DBHS enrolment = 1786
  2. Your right… we did think we had a chance. We were ranked #2 in the state by most poles and we demolished the #7 team in East 54-0000000000! Why wouldn’t we think we had a chance? But I’m here to tell you … in football you are on another planet when you get past Morristown and … it’s not just the talent level!!! It’s their all around program from the players to the coaches to the band. They are all on another level!!! That was my first taste of how East must feel. But you didn’t hear any THS fans saying they cheated, their cocky, they think they can beat everybody in the state. You know why…. Because they ARE cocky… and they deserve to be because the spanked our team … a team that Totally dominated this area! You see… it’s not hard to give respect where respect is due. You give respect you get respect. Otherwise you have to earn it!!! thumb
  3. I’m simply referring to this years teams. This years Central team is not on the same level as this years Science Hill or Tenn High teams!! Last year may have been a good game! This years East team only scored 5 points in the whole first half of the THS game… So you tell me. I agree with you about the up and coming talent. DB has an unbelievable talent coming with Justin Sylvester… hands down the cream of the crop! Blountville … If you thought Down Town Joe Brown was something, wait till you see Mickey Brown (Joe Browns little brother)! Vance has a very talented point guard in Corey Young. This kid is a baller! With all that said I must inform you that Indian Trail IS LOADED!!! Jerome Odem’s little brother for one. If they can keep these kids in the program Science Hill will continue to dominate this area!! Speaking for myself… I have to say that you people have a wrong impression of my posts. I merely just state the facts and defend the truth. Other than my opinions (in which I will usually say “in my opinion”) I always have stats and facts to back up what I say! I don’t dislike East or Central, and I mean no disrespect… but I do feel your athletic programs are still a bit behind the likes of THS, SHHS, and DB… and that’s just kippin it real. I do try to use tact in MOST of my posts… but I don’t shy away from the truth as I see it… right or wrong. If I’m wrong about something… don’t just get mad… prove it… and I will be the first to say YOU ARE RIGHT. That’s a bet. I’ve been known to “EAT CROW”. That’s a term I learned from the Maryville football posters this year!!
  4. What team do you actually support WARRIORBALL? You are sounding like a Topper wannabe!
  5. Let me end this myth once and for all……. EAST DID NOT BEAT THS LAST YEAR!!!! Tue Dec. 9 East 32 vs. #16 Tennessee D 43 Fri Jan. 23 East 38 vs. at #16 Tennessee D 46 Your record was 5-21. Do you really think that one of the 5 games you won all last year was against THS!!! And if THS would be at the bottom in “middle and west”… imagine were East would be.
  6. I’ve read about all this nonsense I can stand. Central and East… better known as the SULLIVANS!! To mention the SULLIVANS in the same sentence with Tennessee High or Science Hill should be against the law. Cougarscout do you really think that Central would fare well on the court with the likes of THS or the HILL?!! I don’t think you could get a handful of people from your own school that truly believe the Cougars would truly stand a chance against these two teams now… ESPECIALLY after loosing to ABINGTON!!! The summer league and scrimmage argument is REACHING to say the least. ATNGUR1 obviously you had started your new years celebration early when you made the statements that you made in your post… because only someone under the influence would babble such nonsense!!! I was at the THS East football game and the only sign of trouble or disrespect I saw was when the police escorted one of the EAST FANS out of the stadium after an altercation in the EAST stands. YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS when it comes to this year’s basketball, football, golf, Tiddlywinks …. heck whatever you want to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a little advise… stop trying to find the things that are wrong with TENNESSEE HIGH and look at the things that THS’s athletic department is doing right and try to at least copy if not better it!!!! Evidently they are doing something right for East to have NEVER won a single football game against THS… and I’m sure EAST hasn’t won to many other games in other sports. I guarantee we walked away from Maryville with a new focus on where we need to be!! Get over it and stop spending so much negative energy trying to tear down Tennessee Highs image and try to improve you own!!!!!! The difference between EAST and CENTRAL vs. THS and SCIENCE HILL is that the Vikings and the Toppers have WINNING TRIDITIONS not just winning seasons! Regardless of what the talent level is they are always at the top of the standings in this region. Don’t take my word for it… do the research. I can’t leave HAPPY VALLEY out. You guys are a much smaller school… PLEASE stay in your league!! I also saw the comment you wrote WARRIORBOY. Do I need to remind you of last years District Tournament and the fact that you also shared the conference championship last year with DB… so what’s your point?! I’m not naive like these other clowns are. I know this years Topper team plays like FIVE FINGERS OF A HAND THAT HIT YOU LIKE A FIST. But don’t look for the Vikings to go down with out a fight! By the way… the only other sophomores that Omar has to compete with in this area are the ones on his team… that’s a fact!
  7. DeShaud JOHNSON (5’10” PG Tennessee High) He will finish the season with almost twice the number of steals than any other player in East TN!! thumb
  8. I’m not sure where you were sitting but from where I was sitting I could see McKinny get the ball and try to put the ball back up when a Mays player came down across both his arms before the buzzer had sounded. If it were a case of both players going after a loose ball I would have to agree with you. But I don’t think that was the case. Anyway… it’s all in the past now and I don’t think anybody is real stressed out about it. thumb
  9. I agree 4LIFE… this isn’t INSTANT MESSENGER … no Ebonics aloud here! In my opinion the Hill has established themselves as STATE Tournament contenders this early in the game. You must be from DB mmmlt mullet... whatever your name is???! By the way… HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!! You too MULLET.
  10. A “NO CALL” is short for THE OFFICALS MISSED THE CALL!!!!! Especially in the closing seconds of a close game like this one was. In my book a foul is a foul is A FOUL… at the beginning, middle, and end of a game. Otherwise … you wouldn’t have to guard a last second game winning shoot… just grab their arms and wait for the “NO CALL”!
  11. I wasn’t going to bring that up for the sake of looking like a pouter. I’m a Viking fan … but I would have to agree with you on your observation. Mckinney was definitely fouled on that last shot in the closing seconds and should have gone to the line! The excitement level was so high that I don’t think it settled in on me what had just happened. Did you see the interview of the Mays players on the news? Even they were surprised the official called the game when he did (although they were happy he did). One even made the statement “I thought he was blowing the whistle because of a foul”. I have to again brag on the new coach… he briefly mentioned it in his post game interview but was very calm and professional about the unfortunate (to say the least) call. I can only imagine the totally opposite reaction the Hill’s coach last year (not mentioning names) would have had. Talk about some refs running for cover!!!
  12. Don’t be so sensitive Bball it’s only a game.
  13. Dido 4LIFE!!!!! Without a doubt the most exciting high school game I’ve seen in years!!! The atmosphere was great… fans cheering on both teams! Hats off to the TOPPERS and their COACH… WAY TO REPRESENT!!! thumb Once again the Arbys Classic is living up to its bill of one of the best Christmas tournaments in the country!!! What are your thoughts on the Dunk Contest?
  14. How bout this one… I see Meridian coach denying #5 of Tempview, UT the ball throughout the game, ending Utah’s dream run!!! I see Science Hill continuing to play amazing ball. And with that relentless pressure defense … upsetting Mr. Chase and his squad. And being form this area I have to pull for the hometown team to win it all. Go Toppers!!!
  15. You know I would say they same about Lamont in respect to DB… but even with Lamont the Indians couldn’t even manage to beat Gate City (a 1A team out of Virginia)!!!
  16. You can get all the scores and stats form this web site. They try to update it after every game. http://www.btcs.org/ths/arbysclassic/records.html
  17. Let me break it down for you BBALL. If Chase wasn’t on Mays team… how many games do you think they would win in the Classic???! To draw you an even better picture… if you take Chase’s 33 points away from the score of the DB game, would Georgia Mays be playing tonight?? DO YOU GET THE PICTURE NOW!!! When I said “ONE MAN TEAM” I didn’t mean literally one man out there playing the opponent by himself!!!! Where did you say you go to school???!
  18. thumb I checked out the site… very impressive! It looks like you guys had a big game yesterday evening against Mt. Pleasant. What was the score? You should get your coach to look in to coming participating in the Arbys next year. This is a great showcase for the players and the schools. Lots of publicity.
  19. I’m a Viking fan and started drooling when I saw this opportunity to bash the mighty DB Indians…. But I won’t do that! I have to say that I am glad that at least one DB fan has realized the reality of what level your team is at this year… and without a big dose of Thomas Harrison… were you would have been last year!!! DB is not at the level that they have been in the past. But I have a sneaky suspicion that will all change in the near future. And that futures name is JUSTIN SYLVESTER (Chad’s younger brother)!!! If you have seen this kid play you know that he is something special!! He’s just an eighth grader now but he will quickly make an impact on the Indians roster. There are a couple of other standout players in his class also. So keep your heads up DB fans, help is on the way. thumb If I were Charley I would be real nice to the Sylvester family because this kid is going to finally legitimately put him on the map. It would be a shame to loose Justin… I think he would look real good in a Viking uniform next year!!!
  20. I’m going to have to go with the Thomson, GA team. They have the TOTAL package… sizes inside, good shooters, very quick guards that take care of the ball, and most of all they are a very athletic and well coached team. I would love to see The Hill take them out but like you said before Science Hill lacks the inside presence. Either way the winner of this game will be your Arbys Champion.
  21. Chase scored over half of Mays’s points single handedly (33 of 60 points)… you tell me???! Your right my fault… I guess Rashad has to have someone throw him the ball.
  22. Mays cleared the bench on the Indians in the 4th quarter with an easy win in their pocket. Once Lamont fouled out that was it for DB. Mays is a ONE MAN TEAM (grant it he is a 6’7” 230 lbs) and they will have a tough time against an aggressive zone defense. Other than the big mans dunks … that was a pretty boring game.
  23. DB DID get run off the court … what are you thinking???!!! Mays cleared the bench on the Indians in the 4th quarter with an easy win in their pocket. Once Lamont fouled out that was it for DB. Mays is a ONE MAN TEAM (grant it he is a 6’7” 230 lbs man child) and they will have a tough time against an aggressive zone defense. Other than the big mans dunks … that was a pretty boring game.
  24. DeShaud Johnson (5’10” PG w/THS) put up 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 steals against Elizabethton last Friday night!!! And was pulled 74 seconds into the fourth.
