Here are my picks for the region. I challenge you to post yours if you disagree. Giles over Cheatham Marshall Co. over Creekwood Lipscomb over Page Spring Hill over Montgomery Central This week is full of good games in the region. These games could give someone a leg up, or may begin digging their hole in the standings. Good luck to all teams!

I find it ironic and sad that the biggest naysayers for MC are MC fans. What say you tigerman and betrayedtiger? That is why the game is played for the boys, and not the fans.

My hat's off to Sycamore. I think everyone underestimated Lohin's arm. He put the ball on the money tonight. Our secondary had good coverage all night, but when the ball is placed in the right place, there in no defending that. Sycamore has a good team, and I think they will easily make it to the playoffs. As for MC, we just have to regroup and prepare for Creekwood. This loss may hurt the ol' pride, but it means nothing in the region standings.

May you have a game full of sportsmanship and free from injuries. May your team work hard to be successful, even if they fall short of that goal tonight. May your coaches have the wisdom of playcalling and motivation. May the fans support YOUR team and lift up those barbarians on the field. Let's enjoy this little game we call football!

Sure, MC won, but we didn't put up 56 points on anyone! MC still has some bugs to work out, so I wouldn't say we'll be burning up the field yet. Tomorrow's game will be a good one, and also give us a better perspective.

Which team has the advantage on offense? defense? special teams? Can the MC seniors overcome the mental aspect of never have beating Sycamore? What other factors should one consider in Friday's game?

I think CW should have beaten Sycamore. They controlled the entire game up until the last few minutes. Gotta give some credit to those Sycamore boys for not giving up.

wingman and BrooklynBrawler, what reasoning do you give for Sycamore's winning this game? I have seen people pick Sycamore, and was just wondering what your thoughts were. Marshall County will definitely have to stop the QB to have a chance.

The O-line had 3 starters out at one point in the game. We had people playing out of position all night. I am proud of those boys for playing a gutsy performance. Next week we should have everyone back and ready to go. All I can say is that we won the first one against a very emotional team. I believe they had superb RBs, and we handled them enough. #10 did not do anything in the game. #9 and #43 were awesome. With the exception of a few big running plays, I think we played defense pretty well. We do have to step it up next week, though. The fisrt one is in the books!

He was picked All-State preseason as a LB

Not an idiot, but tired of all the naysayers who do think that MC is half the team it was before Gower's injury. It was a big loss to lose him. However, Jake Morris has stepped up to be a fine QB, and I think he will only get better as the season porgresses. Some people also think that we will have to run to win. Well, we will run, but because we superb RBs and a pretty good O-Line. It is not because Jake can't throw the ball. And everyone in the community is wishing Kellen a speedy recovery. When he does return, it will be a great day. I understand that we are labelled until we prove otherwise. That is fine with me. I think the boys will live for that.

I guess MC should just forfeit their first few games until Gower returns. Hurry back Kellen before the whole season is gone!

Well, Big Country, after Friday, we'll talk. If you are right, I'll be glad to admit it. Otherwise, maybe you can throw a little credit to the defense of Marshall County. But, I do want to say that holding SH to few points (if that indeed happens) will not satisfy me. I want a strong defensive effort for 15 weeks.

Now, I saw Byrnes at the Vanderbilt passing camp, with their 75 skill players. They have won the last 5 South Carolina state championships in a row in their class. I don't think it would matter what state their opponent was from. They we great!

Man, how right you are. At the school I just came from in GA, the HC made 99K last year, and organized all the practices, oversaw the coaches and their individual groups, but did very little "coaching". We finished 8-2 in the reg season, and was 4th in our region. We made the playoffs for the 7th straight year.

You make a good point about the size of the coaching staff. I went form one in Ga of 14 coaches for a 4A school to one of 4 coaches for a 3A school in TN. Much smaller!
