  1. Upperman doesn't have a broadcaster. What about McMinn CENTRAL? Are their games usually on the radio? If so, help us out with a station!
  2. I don't think coaches "vote". They make recommendations and TSSAA decides. To my knowledge, TSSAA decided on Upperman because it is the most centrally located. And I think if we were having this discussion next year, no one would care!
  3. Very, very nice! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. If Upperman plays like they did Friday night against Cannon, they will win. But you never know which team you're going to get. By the way, congrats to Upperman's Carrin Nash for signing with Bryan College last week!
  5. It's so funny to me how people get on here and blast 15-18 year old kids. In one post, they get all over theu for getting on the Godwin kid (which was very uncalled for), then in the next post, midtensportsfan calls two of Upperman's players not good. Calls them by name! I mean, can't we just have normal basketball conversation without putting KIDS down! Do you think these kids don't read this? Do you think they aren't affected by things you so called "experts" think and post? Hopefully, someone has told them that most of the people who post on here aren't very nice and considerate. I would just like to see some intelligence on here. Just my opinion.
  6. It won't even be close...Upperman by 25
  7. Upperman should beat Smith. LA should beat Macon. York should bean Cannon. But in this district, anything could happen on any given night. Should be three good games
  8. Misty Maxwell came from Baxter. Besides Dyer, Maxwell and Leonard are the other two best players. Take them away, and it wouldn't be a very fun game to watch.
  9. If Livingston had Brandi Brown, they wouldn't need a coach.
  10. Just a note here to say that Livingston beat Upperman in overtime by 3, and Upperman had an open shot that rimmed in and out to go to double overtime, so I would not say that they "soundly whipped" them. I do think Livingston has a good coach, though, but let's not forget they lost to York.
  11. wofrogge...how many Upperman games have you been to?
  12. I have been around for a while, and I have only seen maybe one or two games where a call made by an official has changed the outcome. While you can argue that calls are too tight or too loose, you can always find a place or many places during the course of a game where your team could have found a way to improve their play. Sometimes one team is simply better than another, but it is easier for our egos to place blame somewhere...either on a bad officiating crew or a coach or sometimes even a particular player. This is almost always unfair. Trust me, if these officials were the best of the best, they would not be officiating high school basketball here. Having said all that, I do agree that technical fouls are very inconsistent. What offends one referee, another one can overlook. Did anyone see the Upperman game against Macon Friday night? Upperman's coach got ejected early in the 1st quarter. It seemed like, from my view anyway, that he had said his peace, and sat in his chair where he was supposed to and shut up. And then out of no where, he was given a second technical and then ejected. Maybe I missed something. Any thoughts....
  13. But WHY is she out? Is she hurt? If so, for how long? She is a great player and very fun to watch!
  14. Do you really think it will be Smith Co and Upperman battling for the district title? Aren't you overlooking some teams?
