I watched Ashley Matthews play against Upperman Tuesday night, and she was on the floor with 4 sophmores from Upperman who are all better than her...Taylor, McDaniels, Tisdale, and Simmons. I think she is a pretty good player, but she doesn't even make my top ten best sophmore list. Magid....Matthews, McDaniels, and Taylor all do play on the same AAU team together (Team Pride). Maybe they could recruit Mendenhall and Ledbetter. But they already have McClearen and Davis from Oakland who are both making a lot of noise in the boro!

If Upperman can stay out of foul trouble, this one won't be close. They will win at home. Sorry hog-eye.

I think Riverdale will pull this one off. They must be out for some district revenge losing two games in overtime in the past week and a half (Cookeville and Siegel). I am going to say they win by 3.

I haven't seen Oakland yet, but from scores I've seen, I think they will beat Sparta easily. Where is this game? When do Oakland and Cookeville play?

JCHS by 12. Good rivalry, but JCHS will take this one.

Cookeville will pull out a close one in Jackson Co. CHS by 3.

Upperman won by 6 or 7...can't remember exactly. Clarkrange made a good run at the end, but Upperman nailed free throws. Great game by both teams!

85Warrior...I agree with you whole heartedly! I am not from Sparta or Murfreesboro, but I agree that if you have won a championship in the past, brag all you want. Siegel nation...please don't insult our intelligence by saying that you wouldn't brag if you won at state. If you win state, you SHOULD brag, and we all know you will. And as of right now, White Co has bragging rights over Siegel with the win last week. However, most on here believe that Siegel will bounce back and probably give White Co a running over at their next meeting. Bottom line...this is a very, very competitive district with competitive fans.

I thought this was a thread about district 7aaa not Siegel and Oakland. I agree that this is one of the most competitive districts in the state including White Co., Lebanon, Cookeville, and Warren Co. as well as the Murfreesboro teams! These games are ALWAYS fun and exciting to watch!

Riverdale/Blackman - Riverdale by 12 Cookeville/Lebanon - Cookeville by 18 Oakland/Warren Co. - Oakland by 24 White Co./Siegel - Siegel by 8

In my experience Jackson County/Upperman is always an outstanding game. Both teams will come to play, and it will be a great game. I think Upperman will pull it out in the end, but it will be close. York/Smith Co SHOULD be a good game if Smith Co. shows up, but York will win this one. I think Livingston will beat Cannon Co. pretty easily. Just my thoughts. I am interested in everyone else's.

NO CONTEST...Oakland by 25. When do Oakland and Cookeville play? Looks like that's going to be the best match-up in this district.

Hopefully they did play better, but beating Warren Co. isn't that great a feat. But it puts a W up for them, and I guess they needed that.

They aren't young. They have an excellent group of juniors that should be leading the district in scoring. I know they have one or two seniors who are good enough to step up and make big shots. They have a really good sophomore, too, Joni something. This coach is simply not getting it done in White Co.!

Did Siegel lose anybody? And did they pick any new players up? It will be interesting tonight, but I think Cookeville will pull it off at home in a close one.

Good game...Cookeville played well. Coach Haley didn't impress me. He has so much talent on this team. What is the problem? Cookeville hit some big 3's and they were outstanding from the free throw line...didn't think Cookeville had much of a shot this season. I guess we'll see.

I think this will be a good game with Cookeville coming out on top at home. Heard they just barely beat a down Livingston team, though. And with White Co. getting slaughtered by Cumberland., who knows? Any predictions?

I agree. Oakland by 20. My prediction...they are going to turn a lot of heads in this district, including White Co., Cookeville, and Riverdale.

That is exactly how the brackets look with winners and losers playing each other. Cookeville/Moore Co. will take on Livingston/Brentwood - and so on down the list. Games are on the 18, 20, 21, and championship on 22.

Cumberland didn't lose much from last year, did they? They have talent. The point guard (don't know her name - #11) can play when she wants to. I cannot believe the game was so lopsided. White Co. will get pumped up for Cookeville, though, they always do. That will be a great first round district match-up.

I think this will be a great match up and a close game. And the end will come down to which team was better coached. Each team has talent. Who is the better coach???

Cookeville won pretty convincingly even though the score was close. I expected more from Cumberland. I think White Co. will have their way with Cumberland Co. tonight.

Hey everyone else who loves Upper Cumberland girls basketball. I think this tournament will be incredible. What are your predictions for the championship???? How good is Clarkrange this year? And anyone know anything about Summertown and Moore Co.?
