I don't doubt that they were the best team in the state, but to say that the West is the best is just hard to believe when you had 2 teams from the East that brought home a Gold Ball this year. I mean, give the East some credit.

It may be true that Chattanooga is a bigger city but there are lots of schools to choose from. Temple only has about 175 students. Middleton has twice that many students and S. Fulton has a little over 200. I really don't know how that makes too much of a difference. As far as scholarships, Temple doesn't give scholarships to high school students.

So far, it appears that the team of the century in 1A is Temple. I mean, 3 Gold Balls in the last 5 years! That ain't bad.

I guess when a team scores less than 50 points that makes them a sub par team, right? If my memory serves me right, I can remember when a couple of guys (who played on a mediocre team called Bolivar Central) by the name of Wayne Chism and Willie Kemp played for a state AA championship against Raleigh Egypt. The score in that game was 44-40.

Dude, they have an awesome bench! As a matter of fact, they even have a team manager that is a "baller". He came off the bench in one game this season and had four 3 pointers in one game! Then you have the Mouw kid that is almost unstoppable. This guy can flat throw it down on you at will, and he only gets in the game every now and then.
