  1. I will take East Robertson by 4. Don't want to get to cocky. And no there wasn't a fire truck at the field, all of that mud must have come from the crying you Water boys were doing after yall gave up in the first quarter. Its not ER's fault you didn't show up to play. As for this Friday night, there will be two teams that are big and physical. And yes both teams have athletes on the field. Don't under estimate East's speed. You seem to think no one in the state can keep up you guys. Good Luck to both teams.
  2. Hey! Maybe the TITANS can use this style defense next week.
  3. POWER RUNNING GAME! You have not seen a power running game yet. After Friday Night you will remember the the name STEPHON DAWSON. Go to Goodpasture's web sight to see his stats. http://goodpasturefootball.com/index.ph ... e&Itemid=1 And he isn't all that fast. Now with that said, I dont think Goodpasture can beat you with the pass. Or maybe their is no need to pass when you run it the way they do. Goodpasture wins this one going away. And they will run it up if they can. 38 to 10
  4. Put the blame on the sophmore QB,Dallas has done what he has been told.I know he makes mistakes, and he also knows, but what i have seen so does the rest of the team, but i guess someone has ,a big differance in 12-14 year olds playing, and 15 year old boys playing 19 year old men. With an exception to a couple of years, the JR high has always had a good season.GOOD LUCK TIGERS,hang in there stay together better times next year.Dallas keep your head up,keep working.LOVE YA DAD Great post TWINSLEFT. Until you have one on the field, you have no idea how much pressure these KIDS are under. As a White House fan that was at the game, I didn't see any quit from you guys Friday night. Tell Dallas, BallFan44 said to keep his head up and do what the coaches ask of him. Show me another Sophomore in the state with over 1700 passing yards. Remember this could be my/your son that some A-Hole is spewing trash about from behind some user name. For all we know it may be some 9 year old kid.
  5. Hey....... Fire up the grill. The blue-mist from White House is blowing in. I like my burger's med well please. May be an order of nacho-N-cheese, and a Mountain Dew. Wow, I'm ready for the game! Good luck to both teams. Hope we have a safe game.
  6. How mobile is the QB for SC? We know he can throw it, can he run for his life! I see big hits coming from #6 and #58 for WH defense. Don't you love Friday Night football........OR...... Thursday Night Football!
  7. I just got word that the game has been moved to Thursday Night. Has anyone herd this? Something about the rain.
  8. I HOPE WHITE HOUSE DOESNT TAKE SC FOR GRANTED. I THINK THE WESTMORELAND LOSS WAS A FLUKE. I SEE THIS GAME BEING CLOSE. I DO SEE DIXON WITH ABOUT 150 AND 2 TDS. ILL SAY WHITE HOUSE 29 SC 21 I don't think Coach Porter will allow his team to overlook the Owls. White House will be the best team the Owls have faced so far this year. Greenwade and Dixon are great players. We will need to play better and more aggressive this game to have a shot at the upset. Porter may have his hands full trying to get the team up after last week, and the week before, and... you see where in going. This has been a tough stretch. Maybe some of the most exciting games I have seen. And to come up on the short end stinks! I do think if White House show up to play, We win. But who knows if they can after they left it on the field last week.
  9. What are GP's field conditions like? The weather report below came from the National Weather Web page. As you can see, RAIN tonight and tomorrow. I hope we dont play in a mud pie like last week. I think that the muddy field helped Beach in the return game last week. Not saying that #5 wouldn't have scored any way, but I would like a rematch with out the mud. Today: Sunny, with a high near 75. South wind between 5 and 10 mph. Tonight: Periods of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Low around 58. South southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Friday: A 50% percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 72. Southwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  10. DTBDP61 has a point about the secondary, they haven't been tested much but I dont see this as the week that happens. I see GP trying to run the ball, and that is for two reasons. I dont know if WH can stop them and to keep the ball away from WH QB. This game will show how far WH linemen have come. If they give the QB time than GP is in TROUBLE. I know GP has one or two kids in the secondary that can run, I also know that they have some trouble spots as well. SO this comes down to GP's Big guys and WH's Skill guys. Oh yea, I dont even want to talk about special teams. That has to go to GP. All of that makes for a great night of football!
  11. Here we go. Lets get back to the game. Does anyone have anything to add to this weeks game? Do any of you know anything about the match up? How about the fact that the 2009 Tennessee High School Football Ratings Week 5 Ratings (9/27/2009) http://earlnall.com are out and both teams are in the top five in there class. Maybe the fact that Goodpasture has only eight seniors that start. Four sophomore start one of which is there quarterback. Maybe something about White House starts only six seniors, or the fact that there are eight sophomores that start and fifteen played more than ten minuets in the Beach game. Come on guys give us something about the game. This is a huge match up!
  12. CougarBrown, You are part of the problem. If you don't have anything to add about this weeks game, don't post. You are trying to stir up the stink. You are trying to bait WH fans into your sour grapes. I'm sure you can find a fan at any game to say something stupid. Again lets make this about GP/WH football.
  13. Now don't get me wrong, I have probably seen more Lipscomb games over the past few years than some of the parents of the the players. I have a great deal of respect for their team and past players (and current) while at the same time I have little to none for their zealous fans. After all this is a fan page isn't it. Would that qualify you as one! If not, quit comming if your going to bash the program
  14. Lets not start that recruit bla bla bla... That will kill a good thread. The T$$AA makes the rules and everyone plays by them. No I'm not on here to defend Goodpasture and yes you could have some money under the table, I DONT KNOW AND THIS WEEK I DONT CARE. Tee it up and play ball. One thing about this game I can say, both teams will be ready to play. I dont think you can find two coaching staffs with more experience across the board than what you have in this one. This could be one of the best match ups we see with the new format in high school football. I watched both of these games last week as we all could. So this is how I see it. I dont know who thinks there teem is young butt both are playing Sophomores with few Seniors playing on both teams. The difference is WH has a senior QB and that could tip it there way. We all saw him Thursday and know he can and will put it where it needs to be. GP does have some Senior leadership on there line. Can WH stop the dive play with the big push and still contain the corners? I see this one going to WH 35 to GP 21
  15. Boys, I dont see this as an easy game for either team. JB better bring there A game tonight cause ER is big, Strong, and Fast. I'm not going to say it's a blow out, but YOU better stop talking playoffs and win this one first. How do the teams match up? QB--goes to east, O-Line --East, Tail back --JB, Wide out---East. You see where this is going. If ER can get there heads on straight and believe that they can win this could go there way. I dont see East stopping 44 all night, and he will get his. So lets see how it goes. I THINK YOU LOOSE! EAST BY 7
  16. Goodpasture------ $6,500 give or take a little JP II -------------$12,000 " " Ensworth ---------$20,000 THAT IS PER YEAR That is why GP Doesn't Get into D II. A good education at a fair price. And you are welcome to apply today so your child can play ball tomorrow.
  17. This one doesn't sound good for Macon Co. You need all the size you can find to stop the O-Line from Goodpasture. And now your linebackers are out! Bring up those safeties because they will need to make a lot of tackles 7 to 10 yards deep in your D-backfield. Looks like another 300 yard night for the fullbacks from Goodpasture. Maybe you guys will get lucky and Coach Martin will try to get the passing game involved, a couple of dropped passes, an interception and you keep it close. Other than that, its ball control offence and they run your big's in the dirt and you have no legs the second half. If it goes as I see it, GP 42 - MC 14. Coach will run up the score if he can. Enough smack, I do want to say that the fans will be great and it is a good atmosphere to see a game. Get to the field early if you want a seat. The visitor seating is a little small. But the field will be one of the best you will play on. When you get to the school pull around back there is plenty of parking that you cant see from the road.[*]
  18. I heard that two or three linemen are out also. Is that true? If so, It will be a long night for Westmoreland. Maybe the QB should take some time off. Have you seen the d-line from W-H? The Light Kid is a beast. Than there is the James Kid on the other end! Oh I dont want to forget the Duke Kid. I would think the only to move it is to run it right at them because you are not going to run away from them. My score... W-H 35 - 7 only if they score on the two's and three's.
  19. Looks like Goodpasture got back on track last Friday. How did the offence move the ball? All wing T, or did they mix in some spread? I didn't make it to the game so give me some details. I did read in the newspaper that there was no passing game but I guess with 300 yards rushing in a blow-out there is no need to take a chance with turn over's. Do you think Coach will pass more this week. You cant run over everyone. I would like to see Troy #9 get more opportunities to make a play. That boy can fly!
  20. That is a pretty strong statement. (head coach and coming from an undefeated program and was not even called back). Dont come out with that, and leave us hanging. Come on come out with it. Something like that would, and should get some one higher up the food chain in hot water. Dont be scared, tell us his name. Or are you full of your self and dont really have any facts to back up such a statement.... Oh, let me say WH by 20!
  21. Amen, Brother Ball Fan 44, Where is the offense? The Line might be massive, but they are slow, they lost all their running game when Ben Cunningham graduated. Plus, for the life of me please explain why they feel they have a D-1 quality QB? No offensive imagination, no offensive weapons and a 5 10" QB who can't throw and makes bad decisions. That's just the offense......defense and their ability to tackle is worse. You win championships with defense and GP can't tackle their way out of a paper sack! They don't even practice tackling!!!!! It is time for Martin to be put out to pasture and bring in some new thinking to this program. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am questioning the way they looked in an opening day game. You Jumped into the deep end of the pool. Coach out to pasture? Lets wait until we see if it gets better before we go that far. I did hear some fans mouthing about the direction the program is going in its recruitment (maybe that isn't the word I'm looking for) bringing in players from L-A UNA feeder system. I think at last count there are like 15 kids that should be on the team that quit. Pull up the roster from last year and count the names. Maybe you have a point Greaser.
  22. Portland may not score 35 points all year. I don’t believe Portland will be in the game. . 35 points.......you so funny
  23. There seems to be a lot of talk about the fundamentals of defense. Where is the talk about the offence? Last I heard GP had a MASSIVE O-LINE, MEAN FULLBACK, and a D-1 QUALITY QUARTERBACK. If you give up 28 and score 29 you win. GP didn't score. NO POINTS! When is the last time that happened? Maybe the mid 80's.
  24. Wow!!!! What a game! Let me quote another post on the 2-A East Robertson Jamboree page,That was one of the BEST preseason games I have ever seen. I dont know if either team worked with there second team boys, If they did they put in one or two at a time. It was more like a playoff game and the season was on the line. I like what Coach has done with Springfield's play. It was fun to watch and I wish you success this year. With that said lets remember that East is a 2-A School, So I will wait to see how much better you are by mid/end of the season. It was nice to see the teams take a knee together at mid field after the game.
  25. That sounds pretty promising for ER...With the new classification ER will have a lot more success. They should contend for the District and I'd say they have the potential to make a deep run in the playoffs. Now that the private schools have moved on I'm sure the players are feeling pretty good about their chances. Did anyone get the Robertson Co. Times? If not here is the link. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20090 ... confidence I post this, not to say bad things about Greenbrier but to lift the spirit of a program that needed something good to look forward to. Coach Chapmen and his Staff had to compete in the ABC district (CPA, DCA, Goodpas ect.) for the last couple of years and its not gone so well. You can debate Private VS Public all you want, but until you live it like they did only to see your kids know they didn't have a chance win. That has an effect not only on the kids in your school but on the entire community. I would love to see you guys have a great year, and show the TSSAA how you can thrive when you are on an even playing field. GOOD LUCK EAST!!!
