  1. Football scoring points are 1, 2, 3 and 6. I had no problem coming up with many scoring scenarios that totaled to 32. This is not your run-of-the-mill score total by one team. However, I do not look for this to be a normal game score judging from what I've seen lately. ROLL TRIBE!
  2. Tennessee High 17 at Dobyns-Bennett 32 Science Hill 24 at Daniel Boone 21 (This score could reverse in outcome) Volunteer 6 at Sullivan South 42 David Crockett 35 at Sullivan Central 17
  3. Central 13 East 7 Boone 23 North 13 Crockett 20 S Greene 13 TN High 35 Greeneville 23
  4. Dobyns Bennett 45 Daniel Boone 7 Tennessee High 23 Science Hill 24 (U pick 'em, could go either way) Sullivan South 35 Sullivan Central 7 David Crockett 30 Volunteer 7
  5. I've also looked forward to this game this year. No doubt we were "down" last year and did have a chance for a different outcome against a strong Boone team. Make no mistake, there is only 1 DB and it resides in Kingsport. Hats off to a fine Boone program but look for the tribe to run wild! ROLL TRIBE!
  6. What happened on the last play of the game last night? Who was the DB player involved and was he injured?
  7. Indians 34 Bears 17 - DB has just too many weapons for the Bears..... MW 20 SH 17 - West is tough TH 30 VH 6 - Vikings are good and getting better....... South 29 GC 27 - this is a toss-up and could go either way Cherokee 17 Vol 13 - maybe yes, maybe no DC 26 CC 10 - DC breazes through this one
  8. Haven't been too active on the board so far this year, but here's some great info on the DB vs Farragut rivalry. It's a very close and competitive series and I have no doubt that Thursday's game will be any different. It will be DB in a close one! Tribe 27, Admirals 23. ROLL TRIBE! 1956 40 @DB Farragut 0 1979 12 DB @Farragut 0 1983 28 @DB Farragut 9 1984 13 DB @Farragut 14 1994 35 @DB Farragut 17 1995 13 DB @Farragut 23 2000 41 @DB Farragut 14 2007 6 DB @Farragut 28 2009 8 DB @Farragut 26
  9. Your probably correct with it starting at home Batman. Moms/dads should ignite that competetive fire under their sons and also support the coaching staff and get involved! The excitement level of DB football seems to have diminished during the last couple years, can't put my finger on the reason. If you or anyone else has an opinion why I'd be more than glad to hear it. One thing is for sure in football, you cannot have a PASSIVE attitude about the game in any area and be successful, this includes parents, coaches, teaches, administrators and players.
  10. I'm still trying to figure out where and when the "change-of-philosophy" occurred with the DB football program? My boys played all 4 years each and were challenged from the time they were freshman to get in the weight room, bulk up, build up endurance, adjust their attitude, and not to settle for being 2nd best, this was an on-going thing all year long between the team mates! My boys both could bench 300+ pounds before their senior year and it is something that has stayed and continues with them to this very day. I just don't understand WHY the boys are not in the weight room every spare moment of the off season and developing the correct work ethic that is REQUIRED to succeed at football.
  11. Good post RTR, I'm in agreement with your statments. My page 3 post on this thread supports this.
  12. There is another Sensabaugh playing for Clemson (backup DB) I went to Volquest.com, clicked on Tennessee to the FB recruiting 2011 and typed in Sensabaugh. Came up his mom was born in Seneca, SC and he has UT, UNC, and Clemson listed. That would be Cody, a former member of DB and very good athlete. He had an older brother Jamaar that was destined to be a football standout. Jamaar passed away going into his sophomore year at DB due to leukemia which was unknown to the family. There are many "strains" of the Sensabaugh bloodline in this area, I'm sure they are all related somehow in the family tree. I know some of them personally and I must say this is a very fine family and have always been very gifted athletes.
  13. You almost sound like you've already heard. I know Im not the only one. Just checking my "grapevine" sources for accuracy.............
  14. Pray tell WaCo, which Sensabaugh are you speaking?
  15. I pray for you and your family at this moment and ask our Lord for Him to carry you through this difficult time. From the bottom of our heart in Kingsport.
  16. Congratulations are in order to Boone for a great season, you have represented your school and east TN well! Way to go! Congratulations are also in order to South! Great season so far , keep it going and bring home the gold!
  17. It's a shame that the Kingsport Times News doesn't cover local High School Sports like it should. I cancelled my subscription over a year ago for that reason. I won't read the newspaper if somebody brings one into work.
  18. Farragut cleaned our "clock" to start the season and Maryville cleaned our "plow" to end our season. Best of luck to both teams from Kingsport --- you are both quality football programs and deserve to be where you are now! Maryville 27, Farragut 20
  19. Lost Old Dad you get an A+ on this comment; I’ve always enjoyed reading your post because of the voice of reason behind the thoughts! DB does have some adjustments to make in our program and I think you hit the old proverbial-nail-on-the-head with your key comment about enthusiasm of the coaching staff --- excellent point! I will go on record again to state my support for Coach Clark and his staff, easily on of the best in the state! It’s easy to lose enthusiasm and very hard to regain except in certain instances such as….Example, DB vs. South - DB has no problem with getting up for that game, trouble is we did have difficulty raising excitement levels to play other schools this year. Go figure. DB played a very difficult schedule this year, #3 Div I, AAA in the state of TN if I remember correctly according to coachT. We did improve but it just seemed as if we could not keep our excitement level up from one game to the next. Dang-it! We did make it to round 1 where we met powerhouse Maryville - if you meet these boys I wish you good luck! They are very good from top to bottom! Hope your Warriors do well with Oakland on Friday and that your season ends successfully! ROLL TRIBE!
  20. Since this thread has been opened up and since I do have a “dog in the hunt”, I will give my observations for DB football this year. I would further clarify by stating that I do care about DB football, past, present and future. It’s time to take a serious look at the future of the program. School Administration Personnel – coaches, teachers and administrators these folks must support and recognize the football program. If they cannot do this, then they should be sent elsewhere to another school system to continue their mediocrity. The AD position should be seriously looked at and adjustments made. Coaching Staff (High School) – without these folks there is no high school football, so this is a very important part at ALL levels! Play calling, conditioning, attitude, weight room – just to name a few areas that are a must. Year–in and year-out DB has a very high level of coaching personnel. I say thank you to these gentlemen that dedicate their time and effort. Coaching Staff (Middle School) – this is the only feeder program that the city has in place. This should be taken a serious look at by the head football coach and fall under his direction. Athletes - development should be started in the early years of the player, so that means coaching correctly at the “feeder” level before high school. Our head coach must be involved at this level with input and coordinated training. To our young players I would tell you that this is one of the most important steps you will take in life to get you going into the right direction. You’ll learn to work with others as a team, focus upon goals of achievement, make attitude adjustments, learn to make correct decisions and have an overall pride in you accomplishments. Fan Base – this provides the money and moral support necessary to insure a quality program. DB’s fan base is 2nd to none! Support Programs – the Band, Cheerleaders, Quarterback Club, Parents and dedicated Teachers. These are tops in the state, bar none! REPORT CARD Administration Level Athletic Director, D Coaching at High School Level, A Coaching at Middle School Level, D Coaching at Elementary Level, I (this is non-existent) Athletes, A Fan Base, A Support Programs, A Four A’s, two D’s and one Incomplete. That at best averages to a C+ grade this year. The areas for immediate improvement are simple judging from the above report card, IMO. Some of you DB posters may see it differently than I see it, so post away.
  21. I don't believe it's due to postings on coacht. It is usually classmates who are either jealous or want to "settle the score" by doing property damage. Cowards.
  22. DB's all-time record is: 715 - 215 - 28 Coach Clark's all-time record at DB is: 166 - 40 - 0 You can see coach Clark has fulfilled his end of the bargain, year in and year out with whatever talent he's had available. But I think what is missing is "Indian Pride" because the people in the school system are not loyal to this. The AD at DB has no understanding of this, some coaches in the city school system do not support this, some parents do not support this and most teachers in the school system live elsewhere besides Kingsport and are loyal to other school systems. It's time to get these sad facts straightened out before our programs fall into oblivion. I'd like to hear more opinions on this and I hope that somebody pays attention to this thread.
  23. This is a despicable and ultimate act of cowardice. I feel for the fine young men that were victims and their parents. My son's car was vandalized also one night after an away game during his senior year so I know how the parents are feeling. I had at that time approached the "powers that be" to have the vehicles parking lot patrolled as a safety concern to no avail. Wouldn't hurt in the future for a "parent patrol" to be organized when traveling out of town. So sorry to hear this.
