  1. Actually, I think you have already proven who the real idiot is. I wish the best for your son. I hope he has a good rest of the season. He is a good kid despite what he has to listen to when he gets home from you. You are embarrassing him with your ranting. Good luck, Owls. Let's both regroup and build on our strengths and work on our weaknesses. Wouldn't it be great if both schools brought home gold this year? Time to move on. We both have new victims to conquer.
  2. Good post, croz. I think you got your point across well. Lady, I think we all got it figured out. It is called football. You are supposed to tackle in this game. You hit hard to make the play. Sorry your kid was a little sore after it. Toughen him up and don't blame the kids for tackling. Your coaches goal is for their team to do the same. You left gordonsville because you didn't like our coach. We already figured that out. But Seems like you aren't such a good role model for coming on here calling a coach names like a little 1st grader. Grow up or stay home if you can't. Here's a tip for you. Turn the radio off after Jimmy finishes his segment.
  3. Hats off to the tigers on being well-prepared, playing with aggressiveness, and heart. I am not sure if the owls are over-rated or if we are better than I thought we were. The defense swarmed all night and Coen was a beast . Congrats to the owls for pulling out the win. I still dont understand why the owl player wasn't ejected for throwing punches. But then if a ref blatantly turns a blind eye on a whole staff signaling TO, I suppose he has plenty of practice in the art of ignoring. Keep fighting tigers. I think good things are coming your way.
  4. I think both teams learned much Friday night. Our defenses are pretty solid, and we both have some playmakers and kids with heart. But both teams have things to work on. It is early enough to correct what we need to before moving into region play.
  5. Come play Trousdale at their place if you want to see tough.
  6. My son plays for Gville. I have heard about #5, #42, #20, #61, and #34 ( or maybe it is 32, think the name is Brent?) for the Cougars. I have heard that MTCS is big on their line and very physical. Our team has the utmost respect for MTCS players and their coaches. They are riding high right now because they have done what no other team has done in their history and have big momentum heading to Gville. I would hope that MTCS is confident that they can win because why else would you play if you thought you would lose? My son thinks we will win too, and again that should be no surprise to anyone for him to think that way. This game will be decided by the players and not by the fans. I am sure MTSC will bring a big and vocal crowd to the Jungle, and we all know how loud the Tiger fans can be. I think this will be a great playoff atmosphere to be a part of. I can't wait. Welcome to our place, MTCS! I think you will see we are friendly and are good hosts. Good luck to both teams and may each team be injury-free.
  7. I nominate Cody Woodmore and Chaz Smith from GORDONSVILLE. Cody is a 3 year starter on Offense and Defense. Every year he has rushed for over 1000 yds even his soph yr in which Gordonsville was 3-7. That was an accomplishment. He is ranked #9 in rushing in the mid-state among all classifications. Right now he has 1141 yards averaging 7.3 yards a carry with 20 TD's. On defense, he has 24 tackles and 4 receptions. He has several INT's as well. Cody has outstanding character, is a captain of the team and is one of the strongest in the weightroom. He benches well over 350 lbs. Cody was an All-region selection last yr and has won the 104.1 the Ranch Player of the week too many times to count. He was pre-seaspon all state. Chaz Smith is a dual threat QB with 791 rushing averaging 10.7 yds a carry. he has scored 9 TD's . He also has 720 yds in passing. Three games he has rushed for over 100 yds this season. Chaz is a 2 yr starter at QB, and also starts on defense. Chaz is the spirtual leader of the team. He can make something out of nothing. He was picked pre-season All-State too, and has won the 104.1 Ranch player of the week multiple times. He was All_region last yr. Keep in mind that Gordonsville has mercy-ruled 4 opponemts this yr, and the starters were pulled out right away, so their stats would be much higher had our coach kept them in. I know these players are worthy of a nomination and appreciate your consideration, CoachT.
  8. Game over, Croz. Move on. Better yet, go cut your grass. I am taking my own advice and going out to cut mine.
  9. Thank you shizzle, good post. Go Tigers! Let's get in region-mode and take it game by game.
  10. It helps Creasy when your ex head coach is the superintendent, doesn't it? That is all I am trying to say. I don't think Marshall has the same kind of support from the higher ups and you have to have that to make it all work. Also when you have some gold balls under your belt, you are going to get your way. Hope we can do the same one of these days. Good luck to the Jackets and take care of our Coach Jackson.
  11. I wasn't trying to bash Maynord, just trying to point out that he can do as he pleases because he is in charge of himself on the chain of command. I discipline my son when he needs it and he knows not to point fingers at teammates or coaches in a loss. My son has done his share of running after practice and I agree with it. Even if I didn't I would never say a word because I try to teach my son to respect authority.
  12. I can vouch for Croz not over-selling our team at Gville. He finds fault with our team and is the voice of doom and gloom. He has lost a lot of respect from many of the players for some of his remarks on here. Anyone from MTCS tell me any weaknesses that they saw from Watertown?
  13. Congratulations to Smith County on their win last night. Best wishes for a successful and injury-free rest of the season. I would like to see you take it all the way this year.
  14. This game counts in our region and we have to come out regrouped and focused to win it. I know we can do it. Boarhog, this game will played at Gville.
  15. I didn't have to get online last night after the game to know what I would find on here this morning. The main thing in Gville is the defeated attitude of the town. Instead of focusing on an entire season, there are people who judge it all by this one game. When we lose, they cast stones everywhere. Our season is over now and everyone needs to be fired . Grow up . This is one game. It would have been great to have won but we didn't. We haven't for 12 yrs now. The sun is still shining and the birds are still singing this morning and we have eight games left that mean something to make the playoffs. Congrats to the Owls for winning again. How do you expect the players not to give up when YOU give up on the program after one game? The players know what is coming from our so-called fans when they lose this one. They quit on us. I just want to say that I am proud of the Tigers and will have their backs every single game. We faced adversity and for the most part fought back tooth and nail. We got wore down. Yes, we got some bad calls, but we also didn't capitalize on drives that should have resulted in points. We shot ourselves in the foot over and over last night. Our defense played hard but they simply wore out. Credit that to the Owls and their play. Look in at this as an outsider with nothing at stake, and realize you are going to pick a 3a school over a 1a school every single time. Do you think the Owls could go and beat Riverdale? Could South Pitt beat Alcoa? Could Trousdale beat Maryville? Who would be favored by the mass? I think you know the answer. When you are playing a bigger school, you are fighting an uphill battle from the get-go. We have got to stop this quitter attitude in our town and keep fighting to support this team. Some of our fans need a choke chain on here. One more thing I want to say, you put all your hopes in Medley coming back. But when we lose, you jump on the guy's back on here. You were fine last week when we won. Think about it. The team wins and the team loses. He can't help it if we throw three INT's and fumble away the ball. Maynord is in a unique situation. If a parent doesn't like how a coach is doing things, they can race to the principal to whine. But In carthage,Maynord has ultimate power as head coach . If Phil Fulmer also had Mike Hamilton's job, he would never have been fired would he? I know many Carthage parents that don't like many of his coaching techniques and that is why their children are either at Gville, at other schools, or don't play anymore. I don't know of any other head coach with as much power as that guy has. He gets results but usually dictators do. Kudos to him for another win and best wishes for another successful season.
  16. Check with anyone who keeps up with the upper division schools. Glencliff and Wilson Central are bottom feeders. Cascade at least went to the playoffs and won their division the last couple of years. Scrimmages are just that- scrimmages. You have to see who will play you and you can either play them like a game or you can let every person on the sidelines get into the action. You can put your first team back in and keep them from scoring. You can let your young kids have at it and take the fall. What matters is the games. Go Tigers! Win or lose, we are behind you all the way.
  17. Nothing like Friday nights at the Jungle. I can't imagine how loud it will be next week. I think our boys did a good job not looking ahead to next week's big rivalry game. We played well, and it was so good for everyone in the stands to see their child get to play. Very classy of Coach not to run up the score on an old Gordonsville alumni. I have to say one of the best things to me was seeing Zach Campbell back in blue again. He was missed by everyone. Celebration over now back to business boys.
  18. To pasttiger Everyone knows that you played football for medley many many years ago and have a loyalty to him. I just don't think it is healthy for the players to keep hearing you on here valuing one coach above the others. My son played middle school ball under Petty and Clemons and those two helped to develop his competiveness and heart. He loves them both so much because they made it so fun. Coach Petty is such a hard worker and that helps develop the work ethic. To play under those two men again in high school was a dream come true for him. He respects and loves every one of his high school coaches. Not a day goes by that he doesn't come home telling a joke or something funny that Coach Clemons or Coach Bush said in practice. Coach Lee has such a passion for the game. He can chew you out in a heartbeat and hug you up in the next one. My son thinks Coach Marshall is brilliant. He has become stronger, faster, and knows more football because of him. I can't tell you how much my grocery bill has gone up with this weightprogram of his. I will gladly pay it though because I know it means such a difference on the football field. The hours that all the coaches put in is amazing. If we paid them overtime for their work, they would be millionaires. These coaches have a bond of freindship that is strong and that teaches kids the meaning of family and brotherhood. I am grateful for them all, including Coach medley. Go Tigers!!
  19. I would not welcome consolidation. Rivalries are good and healthy for the soul and the Carthage/Gordonsville one is the best in the state. I grew up going to them and hatin on the Owls. Nowhere will you see a bigger and more vocal crowd than at one of our games. They are good moneymakers too.
  20. Blubellz, you are dead on right. Our boys have to have the mindset that no one can beat them. I think they are anxious to prove some things to their fans, their parents, their coaches, their classmates, AND to their biggest critics! if you saw how hard these boys have been working out, you would agree they have a chip on their shoulders. These boys will be strong and they will be in shape. I believe in the Blue and White too and can't wait til week 0.
  21. We are still playing Westmoreland, they just changed the date of the game. I think it is very smart b/c we might need someone healed up mid season and need that week off. It would be nice if you could say something about our program without the backhanded compliments. ( Ex- If we lose to Carthage or South Pitt, something better happen.) Just SHUT-UP! I think everyone gets it that you don't like our coach, but I doubt that he is losing sleep over what you think. I just say Go Tigers! Enjoy the rest during the dead period. Come back ready for some football b/c it is almost time. I know my son is running every day. He can't wait.
  22. Looks like you aren't on tops of things once again Mr. Croz. We play Westmoreland in week zero.
  23. If you plan to call the offense, don't you think it is time to start working with the boys? I may have been wrong about the last Dillard team losing in the semis, but everyone in Gville thought that team had the talent to go all the way. I am 100% for the Tigers. Their attitudes are in the right frame. This team wants to do big things and I give the credit to the leadership of this senior class and their coaching staff .
  24. Mr. Medley announced after the banquet that he was coming back to help coach. So where IS he? My son hasn't seen him yet in the weightroom. Why isn't he there? Does his word mean anything? He is part of the team when they are loaded and may be able to make a championship run like when they reached the semis Coach D's last yr. Then he bows out when he knows times are lean and you might have to take some criticism from the old-timers. Then when Marshall and Co get them back up to fighting form and people are talking rings, he decides to join up again? If any of them was to return back to the field, I would rather it be Coach Dillard. I think he and Coach Marshall would make a good run. Both are hard workers and men of their word. Don't get me wrong. Medley was a good one in his day, but I question his sudden motives.
