  1. He's healthy. the only problem he had last week was cramps. Tellico suffered the same thing against sweetwater. O'dells "fumble" on the 5 was very questionable, even when the ref said he couldn't see the ball. Like Sequoyah, if that bad call hadn't have happened, Tellico would have been in it, "different game, different score". This should be a good one with both being as young as they are.
  2. I have seen both teams this year as well. with three starters missing from both lines and #33 and #1 hurt. But, found out today that all 5 were released by the doctor and will be back starting Friday Night. I highly doubt Sweetwater by 21 points. If that's true, they better find more offense than what they had against Wartburg.
  3. I did hear there was a scrimmage with Copper basin and Tellico. I think it was the 6th.
  4. Hmmm...and you're basing that on how Tellico did at the 7 on 7? From what i saw, Tellico looked good. The only team Tellico didn't beat was Bradley. After talking to some of the coaches that play Tellico, they all seem to think that Tellico will be in the post season again this year. Some are even picking them to win their district. Is your prediction based on performance or emotion? after reading the paper Sunday, tellico has two pre-season All state performers in O'Dell and Sloan. The sports editor for the advocate said that Tellico only lost 2 starting linemen on offense and four starters on defense from last year. It looks more like their season will be long in the way being 11, 12, 13 games. As for Central, Unless Satterfield has finally got control of his team, it will be very hard for Sequoyah to knock them off, even after losing Rayl. Central never has a shortage in talent! I think it will be Polk 1st, Central 2nd, with Sweetwater, Sequoyah, and Meigs fighting it out for the bottom.
  5. If you go to the tssaa website, you will see that Tellico only has 485 students. That isn't even half of Sequoyah, Central, Polk, Sweetwater......If this district is so much better laiden with tallent, then tellico would not have scored 28 points on Meigs in one quarter, 42 points on Sweetwater, and of course beat Sequoyah in overtime. The key word here is "BEAT". Tellico beat every team in that district except Polk and Central. The facts speak volumes. Anyway.....Tellico looks like it is gearing up for another great season. Pre-Season All State Running back Deon O'Dell is returning after a 1,500+ yard season. After watching them play 7 on 7 Thursday, They looked really good. #12 looks to be gone, but Tellico has a whole slew of receivers that looked impressive. I have never seen such a large group of receivers that could catch so well! I went to see Central, and Tellico showed up! Add receivers like that to a running game with #33 and #40, Tellico is definately gonna be a force. Rockwood and Harriman will definately be two games to watch when Tellico steps on the field with them Tellico Definately makes the playoffs for the second straight year. I think the program is finally getting life back.
  6. Allways, for Tellico having a long season, do you mean long as in more than simply 10 games, or long as in bad?
  7. What time are the scrimmages. Would love to come watch!
  8. Haven't heard anything since Marsh was hired. What's up? When is Spring Practice? Who will Sweetwater be scrimmaging?
  9. Goose, who all are dropping them in basketball?
  10. I thought the same thing. But, my source says they are thinking about taking the forfeit as a type of protest. Ah, who knows.
  11. I heard through the grapevine that Rockwood and Harriman are planning to drop Grace for the next two seasons since the game only counts towards overall record and that Rockwood is even looking to add another game for those two seasons. Any truth to this?
  12. I want to see Harriman and Tellico Plains. After last year, I think it will be a dog fight!
  13. I heard Tellico is having Spring Practice sometime in the next 2 weeks. How does everything look to be shaping up?
  14. I agree with the last post. If Coach Satterfield said it, I'd believe it. He is an upstanding man who is highly respected on and off the field. But I'm not saying he did or didn't say it. I do know that when Coach Satterfield left Grace, there were rumors flying in every direction that he was fired for stealing. If Coach Satterfield had blown the whistle about Grace and their cheating, all that would have been said is that Coach Satterfield was trying to cover up his own bad character by trying to tear down Grace's reputation of being a Christian Institution. The funny thing is, it doesn't matter if Coach Satterfield said that or not. What is funny is that EVERYONE in the state knows what Grace's reputation is. They are a school that has allowed cheating on the administration level. Head coaches, Athletic Directors, and Principals get the same exact rule book as Grace's football coaches, basketball coaches, athletic director, and principal every year. Ignorance is a poor defense. I do feel sympathy for Grace. The majority of the school is not guilty. It is 4 or so individuals that have forced the majority of the teachers, students, and coaches to have to be associated with the reputation of cheaters and liars. A statement from Coach Satterfield is unnecessary. Grace cheated. Nothing else needs to be said.
  15. Word has it that Satterfield (who preceded McKamey) will be more than happy to discuss the situation at Grace in great detail if the TSSAA would only call him. Seems like it was being done when he was there as well. Now that he is at Sequoyah, doesn't feel like he should keep his mouth shut ANY LONGER.
  16. Please don't get me wrong. I wasn't meaning that TP would replace Rockwood or Harriman in their rivalry. I have seen that rivalry. I mean from Tellico's point of view, Harriman is the team that bad blood exists between Tellico and them. There isn't anyone Tellico players and coaches want to beat more than Harriman. After last years game, That is the one that players and coaches still talk about and can't wait to get to to attone for. It seems that a sense of respect exists between Rockwood and TP. Not so for Harriman. Harriman is the team that Tellico will always pull for Rockwood in and from what it looked like in the ditrict tournament, Rockwood will pull for Tellico when they are against Harriman.
  17. I think TP vs. Harriman will be the game to watch this fall. After last years game and how heated Tellico and harriman get at EVERY game, I think it's safe to say that Tellico has their clear district rivalry. Harriman has to travelt o Tellico. I think it's gonna be a shootout. I can't wait!
  18. My bad. I thought it was the same district as last year this year. I think that if TP can repeat their success this year, it won't be too hard to get the kids to come out and play.
  19. Polk, Sweetwater, Sequoyah, and Meigs......and then Central.....who are the other 3 schools in that district? Anyway. Tellico has had talent most of the time since the 1994 season (12-2), they just couldn't find a coach that was dedicated tot he program like Hunt and his assistants. I think Tellico will be around as a team that can win for some time to come.
  20. I think they would have done just as good, considering they played everyone but McMinn Central in that district and only lost to Polk. Continuity in the coaching staff is what has made the difference. The merry-go-round of coaches has finally stopped. Tellico's days of losing are finally gone it seems!
  21. If it was unknowingly, then they wouldn't have benched him for the district tournament and the rest of the post season in basketball. That just so happened to come about a mere few days before the TSSAA began the investigation. The morals of the teachers or the lessons that are being taught are not what is being questioned. My wife coaches volley ball for a private school. EVERY transfer and freshmen that comes in, there is a meeting held with the parents where these guidelines are explained to the parents and they instructed to inform the administration about any monetary gifts given to students and their families to help in tuition. The principal, assistant Principal, AD, assistant AD, and all head coaches are present at the introduction meeting. It is explained to the parents that they must divulge that information before their students play sports. The parents are given 2 weeks to come privately and discuss their situation so there aren't any problems. If my wife's school of only 300 highschool students can do that, why can't grace? They were required to read the rules and regulations before joining the TSSAA. They were given the opportunity to ask questions. Ignorance cannot be claimed here. It is the Prinicipals, Athletic Directors, and Coaches RESPONSIBILITY to know, understand, and explain things like this, especially when they get SO MANY transfers every year. No EXCUSE. Now, on another note. Grace met with the Board of Control yesterday. Any luck getting anything reduced?
  22. Thanks Pujo. I do remember #5. I was at the Tellico/Grace Game. You are absolutely right about him standing out for the wrong reasons.
  23. I looked at tssaa.org and under the bulletin board tab, the only job posted for Meigs County is an assistant coaches job. Nothing has been said about head. Last I checked, it hasn't even been posted on the Meigs County Web Site. Something isn't stirring the Koolaid with all of these "coaches" being frontrunners. If they aren't local, kinda hard for them to know the job is open. Just me wondering out loud.
  24. Seen on the bulletin board at TSSAA.org where Satterfield was looking for an offensive Coordinator. Who is leaving? ALso, I thought Satterfield was the Offensive Coordinator!!
