  1. I started this thread to talk about HHS football and the progress of the kids, not hear a bunch of S@#& about the coaches. Yes, some have been replaced so what, that happens in all programs. As to who they have hired, I have no idea. & Who really comes on hear to talk about how much weight a coach has gained? KEEP IT POSSITIVE.
  2. The best veiw from any stadium is at Heritage High School in Blount County.
  3. Yea, 4 of them were replaced, and we open with Karns, I think.
  4. Just wondering if anybody has heard how things are going? I know they have some pretty good tallent coming back on both sides of the ball, but have they been hitting the weights hard so far? This time of year is when good teams get better and set themselves up to win games. Lets hear it HHS fans?

  6. Heritage Soph - John Tran OLB, Jake Malone LB/RB, Randall Welch OL/DL, Jose Hernandez OL/DL Juniors - Justin Newman WR/DB, Chase Cline RB/DB, Chris Wood LB, Luke Eldridge OL/DL Seniors - Evan Brown DL, Tyler Hartley QB, Gabe Myers DB, Chris Overstreet DL, Patrick West DB. Hope they all can stay healthy.
  7. I have to ask a question. Has anybody heard anything about Coach Brandon Waters going to Maryville? I know thats where he played and have heard he gave a pep rally speech for the first round playoff game to the team. I really hope thats all it was because he is a great asset to the program at Heritage. The kids love him and his excitment brings a lot out of them. Not to mention the weight program he has started.
  8. (Catholic fans,is there any way to explain how you lost to a weak Heritage team toward the end of the season?) I can tell you what happend. Heritage played a inside and outside stack defense that Catholic could not figure out how to block. The Catholic QB was running for his life all night, & Cozart was held to 44 yrds. rushing. Heritage also ran a wildcat offense that caused Catholic a lot of problems. The bottom line is Catholic was out played and more importantly out COACHED....
  9. No flag was thrown but a TD was scored. I think the rule states that you can not make contact to the defender with your feet during a hurdle. It wasn't even close. Thanks to the Rebel nation for all the congrats. Good luck to you all in the playoffs. Now, to the great win for the Mountaineers. This was an unbelievable win for a team that was down on therselves. All the changes made last week by the coaches really paid off. I just wished they would have done it earlier in the season. Heritage had a great one two punch with Cermak and Cline thru the entire game. Keep up the good work boys and great things will hapen.
  10. Well, the past few weeks have not been so good for the Mountaineers. I sure would like to see a couple of victories here at the end of the year. There still is a lot of fight and good spirits in the team and wish the best for them. This is homecoming for the Mountaineers and hope to see a big crowd Friday night. What is the injury report for the Irish?
  11. Stranger things have happened......The Mountaineers have had some bad things happen over the past 3 weeks. To many mistakes and turnovers. If they can stop shooting therselves in the foot, then it could happen. If they continue the way their going then it could be a long bus ride home. I think if Heritage can control the ball and keep Farraguts Offense off the field, then they have a great chance at the upset.
  12. What is the status of Farraguts injuries, any to speak of? Heritage is still banged up a little bit. They seem to have a pretty good game plan for Friday, I just hope the kids can put it on the field. IF they can, this could turn out to be a good game. Good luck to both teams and hope for an injury free game.
  13. Will the Mountaineers come ready to play or will they let this 3 game slide keep them down? I'm thiking they will come ready to fight and play a great football game. Not saying they will win, but look for a scrappy bunch of Mountaineers at Farragut. One assesment from the WB game. If Heritage lines up in the I formation and runs right at the Govs it would have been a whole different ballgame. The one back offense without the lead blocker is what hurt. So many times when Correll or Cline would hit the hole they were one block away from breaking it. Just saying.....
  14. Looks like a lot of folks think Maryville will score a bunch of points and they just might, but Heritages defense has played well. Fridays game at Seymoure the defense was on the field way to much. If the offense can keep the ball a little longer and put points on the board early, this could turn out to be a good ball game. If the O line plays like it did at Seymoure and don't give Hartley and the backs a chance, then it will be a long night for the Mountaineers. I predict a close one. Heritage by 6.
  15. Well, here we go. Maryville seems to have everything clicking and Heritage had it's worst outing Friday night. How will these two teams come out next Fridat night?
  16. It is so good to see all the positive stuff on here about the Mountaineers. It has been a long time coming. Ths game will be a tough and physical game. If Seymour cant throw the ball it could be a long night for them. Heritages defense is very strong against the run. The offense will have to get off to a much better start this week and score some points early. Good luck to both teams. Congrats to coach Russell and Wife Reagan on the birth of there first child "Braxton Russell". God Bless.
  17. I know of a few not mentioned. Chase Cline - Heritage- Starting in the backfield this year.Good speed and hard to tackle. Justin Newman - Heritage- Starting at wideout. Luke Eldridge - Heritage - Starting center Zach Chapman - Alcoa - very strong fullback. Dalton Curtis - Maryville - Good speed and great hands at the wideout position Luke and Chase played some varsity last year as Freshmen and have turned in two real strong games to start the year. Justin has turned out to be an outstanding young reciever with great hands and good speed. He will be one to watch.
  18. Look out for #27 for SD. He is quick and shifty. Defense plays hard but on he field way to much. Offense is all run, QB don't have time to throw. They play with a lot of heart and spirit. Good luck to both teams.
  19. Can the MOUNTAINEERS make it 3 in a row? Boy, I sure hope so...
  20. Nice first half for the Mountaineers. Moved the ball well and made some big plays on defense. Special teams are a big issue, coverage is to slow getting down the field and players not staying in their lanes. The team will need to learn from this game, not to quit when they have a lead, everyone still has a job to do and they have to do it the entire game. When you get a lead, poor it on.... Way to go Mountaineers on a big win. The Defense is awesome......Running backs looked good and the receivers only had two or three drops. QB played well. Get ready for Lenoir City next week.
  21. Nothing has been posted about this game? What are should be expected?
  22. I hate to disagree with you jammin. The refs did not beat you all last week. Heritage had more penalty yrds than Karns did. What beat you is that Heritage was in better shape at the end of the game than your players. Your defense was tired and Heritages offense was still fresh. They made plays when they had to and Karns didn't. You all have a pretty good team and should beat Willie B Friday night, no matter what the refs do. Good luck to the BEAVERS for the rest of the season.
  23. Yes they do and Thanks again. All I can say is the coaching staff has worked very hard and the kids have taken to it. Two more days until kick off and then we will see? GO MOUNTAINEERS....... I will have to agree. The Mountaineers do look good. The uniforms look great and the players attitudes have changed tremendously. I hope they have a great year this year and beyond. From what I have seen so far these coaches are great coaches and even better people. Best of luck HHS.
