  1. Who is going to replace Dinger and Triplett? I haven't seen anything in the papers.
  2. McMinn had to throw their #5-6 pitchers at central since they played district games monday and tuesday. With Moses on the mound for Central, the 'kees had no chance from the get go.
  3. How have everyone's scrimmages gone so far?? Meigs fans where are u?????
  4. Its never wise to drink hard liquor before noon eagle
  5. 1. Of the pass oriented offenses that polk has played the past few years, this is the only quarterback that is going to college to actually play quarterback. There is a difference. 2. You obviously haven't seen Alcoa play if you'd rather play them than Loudon. 3. Turnovers, not who wants it more will determine the game. Im pretty sure that CAK wants to make it out of round 2 as much, if not more than Polk since they've been matched up with Alcoa the last few years. 4. If you go by the "your only as good as your last game" theory, the offense will have to get it together. less than 150 total yards of total offense will not get it done on Friday. I believe PC will have a much better night offensively than against Tyner.. or i hope so anyways. 5. The guy that posted the picture of the coach getting carried off the field supports a team that has won the last 6 state championships. Their idea of success is a little different than that of Polk's. It was good for PC to get the Tyner monkey off their back, but the Tyner team that lost last friday wasn't the same caliber Ram of the 90s and early 2000s . Nonetheless the boys gutted out a hard fought game to survive and advance. Its easy to see that you don't look at things from a big picture standpoint, thats fine. With that said Ill think we'll get the warriors GO CATS!
  6. I wasn't refering to you as a fool ump, sorry if i came off that way. i simply meant that it would be foolish for anyone to to compare apples to oranges in different classes of football.. believe me there is a difference. not that some single A players wouldn't stand out at AAAAAA schools, but there level of success would be at a completely different level. In football, the supporting cast plays such a huge role in the individual success of others.
  7. Easy ump I'm not knocking Allen or Hargrove at all. They are great players and two of the best in our area. I'm simply saying that Tyner will not be overwhelmed by their talent. Thats all. The two guys I mentioned played against DII competition week in week out. You are a fool to compare district 5AA talent to DII talent. Again not a knock, just a point worth making.
  8. The Doc says it would be wise to err on the side of caution before popping off on the boards here Cats fans. Tyner has played a much more difficult schedule than Polk County. They have gone up against a qb as talented as Allen when they played Baylor (Huesman). They have played against a linebacker as talented as Hargrove when they played McCallie (Coleman). They wont be surprised. Polk wasn't preparing for the playoffs when they were sitting starters in the 2nd quarter in more than half of their games. Tyner was when they strapped it up against McCallie and Baylor and Ooltewah. I wish the cats well but i dont have a good feeling about this one
  9. Meigs has NO chance in this game. As for looking down the road I agree with bigcat, Loudon, CAK, and Alcoa could care less if they played Polk. I do however believe that PC could beat CAK or Loudon and would compete well with Alcoa. Polk's season will end when they run into a team that has linemen they can't blow off the ball. Until then I expect the Wildcat train to steamroll along.
  10. the substate used to be apart of the state until the tournament expanded to 8 teams.
  11. Polk 6-0 Central 4-2 Meigs 1-3 Sweetwater 1-3 Sequoyah 1-3 Is this how the standings are as of now??????
  12. Polk Co. hasn't lost a district game to this point. I've seen them play a couple of times they can really hit the ball.
  13. Note to South Greene fans.. Polk has slowed the ball down exactly twice all season. Once against the #1 ranked team in the state, and the second time against Upperman who had a girl that was 6 inches taller than our tallest player. The best chance we had to win was to keep the ball away from the big girl. SG, you will find out that Polk's guards will are fast, physical, can handle the ball, and score. PC will do what it takes to win whether it means scoring 80 or 42. PC can play the fast game or the slow game.
  14. I couldn't agree with you more fb, this rule is absolutely absurd. It makes no sense to confine the head coach for the actions of the an assistant coach. Futhermore, how does it help the players if both coaches are confined? This is another move that proves that the powers that be don't care about the players. I think this is a rule to give incompetent umpires who have poor judgement an easy out when confronted by an assistant coach.
  15. This goes to show you how much stock we should put into these all state teams....... none. Its a joke. If coaches aren't going to put the effort into doing it right then they shouldn't even have an all state team.
