  1. Visionaire, you are classless, and I hope for Millington's sake you are just a fan and not connected to the program. I have always liked and pulled for Millington but I may be changing my mind after listening to you blow hard on hear week after week. What have yall done accept under achive? Number 1 every year only to get bumped 1st or 2nd round. Yall thought yall were ready to play the likes of MUS and OB, LMBO! Yall are just a good county school, not a powerhouse. Wake up and stop tooting your schools horn and you will have other people outside of Millington pulling for you.
  2. Dude, you are nothing but a hater!!! You think you could do any better why didn't you put in for the job at Ripley and show everybody what you got. And your Big Purple hasn't played anyone yet to get those two wins they have but don't worry your great football coach is getting ready to play Dyersburg and we will see how he fairs, oh and last I checked doesn't Ripley play at Covington this year, YOu better hope this So Called Waterboy of a Coach doesn't beat the Great Pelligrino because some crow will be eaten on coacht but you more than likely be like most people on this chat after talking crap and then run and hide. Back to the game, Covington had three turnovers that lead to Three touchdowns for dyersburg that led to the game being out of control. Dyersburg is a really, really, really good football team and covington has fell off since their last good run in 2006. Its going to be a process at Covington! And when you turn the ball over against a good football team they are going to captialize on it and thats exactly what Dyersburg did!!!! But again we will see how your big purple fairs when it comes time to play both of these teams. I don't have a dog in this fight I just get tired of seeing you talk @#$@ about everybody on here. It's always easy to be a coach in the stands when the pressure is not on while you standing on the sideline. GET LIFE YOU WANT BE COACH!!!!! Well if calling it I like I see it is being a hater then thats what I am, and I'm no coach by any stretch of the imagination, but I can do better than Marty Wheeler. If I haven't ran and hid behind any others loosing season I wont be doing it this year. Yes Ripley play Covington on their turf but thats not enough to help this coach. And what happens when the waterboy doesn't beat coachP? I just don't want to see you posting anything calling for his replacement which I'm sure many Covington fans will do after this season. 1ftblddad, did Marty not play your son or something last year? What is your beef with him? You can tell it is very personal by the tone of all your post. Let it go man, Marty did not want to stay in Ripley, like most coaches they always want to get into a better job. We (Covington fans) are not going to turn on him after one rebuilding season. Let me tell you about the team he has coming up, it going to be something special, the Freshman Team is full of studs that only know how to win, they will tell you they are going to beat you, then go and do it. That is the way Marty, Jake, and Jeff built the team that yall hated so much (you remember those teams). When this class gets there, look out, we will be the Covington Chargers that break your hearts, just like old times.
  3. These guys are not Covington fans; they are Ripley fans that are upset that Marty chose to leave Ripley for a better job. Covington is down, not due to the coach we have now, but because of the weak system they had the past couple of years. Marty will have Covington ready in 2 to 3 years after he gets the player and parents to buy into the system.
  4. Thanks, but I was looking less for slogans and more for the type of offense you run, skill players I should watch for, and the strengths and weaknesses of your team. For example, the Chargers will run mostly from the wing-T. We have a fullback who is pretty tough, and I understand that we will have an offensive surprise for Dyersburg this week. I don't think I should say any more on that, though, until you see it on Friday. The Charger run defense is pretty stout, and we need to improve in the secondary, although I believe that Munford's success in the air was primarily due to the outstanding play of one receiver for them. Hopefully, most high school teams will not have a guy that skilled. The Covington placekicker came over from soccer, and will be excellent this year. He had some first-game jitters, but was fine once he settled down and he kicked OK again last week. You can expect the Chargers to be in great shape, and we will not wear out late in games like we did last year. We have a real coach now, guys. Chargerfan, I hear that D-Burg is a lot like us, don't throw the ball much and relay on the run. I also hear they have a really really fast running back. I know Dyer passed the ball on them fairly good, but I don't know if that helps Covington or not. I think it will be a better game than most would think. If Covington can find any offence at all they sould be able to stay in the game. I also agree that the kicker is going to be just fine. He made that 35 yd extra point last week. Too bad he had to. lol
  5. I think both teams had many chances to score, Munford did drive the ball well, as did Covington at times. Both let mistakes take them out of their game. In the end Munford just had better weapons than Covington. Covington did not attempt to many passes, and Munford pinned their ears back and come after them with 8/9 men in the box. The only person playing pass was the safety and he was only 10 yards or so off the ball. Covington has a really big line but no one can block that rush. Covington does have a very good Freshmen Class coming up that has that swager about them, they expect to win when they play. I feel the future is bright, but I want this group of seniors to step up and have some sucess.
  6. That's the same question I have, did she catch any passes?
  7. Now what do you say? I didn't think it would be a big point spread, and I also felt... ahh you know the rest. It was a really good game, Munford had more weapons, just like you said 1ftbldad. Covington moved the ball fairly good, but shot themselves in the foot every time they could. Covington had its chances on a blocked punt, the ball was on the ground and no Munford player with in 20 yds, Covington could not pick the ball up and just fell on it. It was a for sure TD. That being said, I think Munford could have run the fade any time they wanted to. CB's from Covington played better this week, but they are just too short. I may be wrong but I look for Munford to win some games this year, at least I hope they are that good and it's not that we are that bad. LOL! By the way congradulations on the Ripley win tonight.
  8. What a schedule. I think I would go for some early cream puffs next year. lol!
  9. 21 unanswered points, did Brighton make that good of a half time adjustment or did Bartlett have a let down?
  10. Congratulations to Munford, they out played Covington tonight. I think both teams have a lot of room to improve this year. I will say this, Munford has some weapons, #2 at QB and 10 at wide out was too much for Covington's CB's. Didn't look like any break downs on the pass plays, just looked like Tattoo trying to guard Yao Ming. Covington has got to find some way to back those LB's up. Munford walked CB's and LB's up to the line and that's just too many men for the line to block. They took Covington's bread and butter out of the game; FB dive was not there tonight. Covington needs better outside LB play and they have got to find that "Covington Attitude" that was lost a few years back. I know it will happen, I just hope for this group of seniors that it happens this year. Come on men, step up and make big plays, expect to win. You are putting the work in; enjoy the fruits of the labor.
  11. Sure you have to make some adjustments, but it could be as simple as changing the blocking assignments. Maybe you need to pull a guard and kickout block, or double team someone to open the hole. These are easier adjustments than trying to develope a new O. Run some screen passes or short slants, things a QB can do without having to learn a new skem. The biggest thing I'm saying is, I would not change anything because of a beatdown by MUS, you guys were the only ones in the state that thought you had a chance to beat them. I still think you can run your way to a Region Title, but if you panic and change everything you may end up below 500 this year. Hey I'm pulling for ya!
  12. Tigertime, dont look like the "O" worked last week, so you adapt and improve or you search yourself. I hope there was a lot of improvement in the practices this week. I hope we win. I hope our guys play their hearts out. I hope the coaches made the necessary changes...this arm chair QB has been around this program a good while and also played at the college level....sometimes, just sometimes there may be some wisdom in what is said I wasn't singling anyone out, I'm just saying that if Millington ran a wide open spread O tonight they would get killed. They need to stick to what the do best, run the ball. If you want to install a new O it should have been done back in the spring, and you better have the athletes to pull it off or it will look like a fire drill gone bad.
  13. I hate to make predictons but I'm going to anyway. I say Covington 20 Munford 14.
  14. This should be a good game, but I feel OB will wear Millington down. Millington needs to have something good happen early or they may hang their heads after last week. If Millington's coach reads these boards, he may let the arm chair QB's talk him into trying to run an O that his team can not adapt to. I would love to be at this game but want be able to. Will the game be on the radio?
