i have not seen grundy play, and ive only seen robinson twice, he didnt perform very well, and ran his mouth heavily at the refs, other players, and fans. even resulting in a technical at one point. maybe those were just off nights for him. and henegar is soft, he needs to be a lot stronger and im sure college coaches may put some drive into him. but in highschool my main issue with how he plays, is that he is lazy very lazy and does NOT post up and use his size. he is too content with standing 15-20 ft from the basket on offense.

What about the big boy from Jasper? Anybody 6'9'' must be pretty decent! I'd have to consider the QB from SP as well. The Thacker kid from Jasper is impressive also! first off, the qb from pitt is very gifted athetically, but he is not a good basketball player at all in my opinion in no way. and im am NOT on the henegar band wagon. having seen him play, i do not think he is good, but of course everyone will say "he is committed D1!", and my answer to that is he got recruited strickly on potential, you cannot teach height. he gets blocks and dunks every now and then, but he is 6 9.. he does not dominate games or put up numbers at all like a typical 6 9 division 1 player in 1A should.. im sure all the valley people will disagree and criticize me but its just my opinion.

yes south pitt will remain in first, signal mountain is counting on their friends from south pitt to beat marion again, and signal should beat them also, sealing the second place finish.

i just want to congratulate the eagles on their huge win. this will help their cause in the district and region. the eagles seemed to press the entire game and push the ball. once south pitt got frustrated it was over for them, the only player that seemed to do good any good for them seem to be finnell on offense. they should surely be in second place in the district now.

I would say that MC and SP both have an outside chance to make some noise in the postseason this year. Better finish first to have an outside shot though, because looming in the other district is Grace, CSAS and Temple. The first place team would avoid the drubbing by grace until the region finals, but would have to beat CSAS. The second place team would have to face grace in the second round and neither has a shot to beat the baptists. After watching MC barley beat signal by i think 1, because of a signal missed free throw at the end, im going to have to say south pitt should beat them easily with a lil good coaching. that tall kid from marion is a sissy and will not post up or play defense 1 time in a game, finnell should win that battle easily. other than that the match ups all favor southpitt. everyone is also forget signal in this district who split with south pitt last year. and have all returning players but was off to a slow start but now back in the swing of things, and will split with marion this year. grace will win it all without a doubt. well someone must think the kid is pretty good bc they signed him to a 4 year ride even if the school is a mid major. i would say a college coach's opinion weighs alot more than some hack from chattanooga. the kid could play for me anyday...come to think of it a team with henegar,robinson,finnel and jones could win a single a state championship...with the right coaching of course. what ya say bout that old pirate? i love how you got really worked up about me saying that a bad team is bad im sorry that i have higher expectations for a team i go for to not lose to such teams!! im sure signal will beat them badly next time. and indian very true, all signal mountain sports are like that, we dont draw a very big outside fan base!.

I suppose all Bradley Central fans will be able to find out just how good their young team is friday night when those Blue Raiders visit Jim Smiddy arena for first place in the district. A 20 point differential against Soddy Daisy is very impressive. Of course Cleveland has beaten everyone by 20 or more with exception to Science Hill. Go Bears... science hill is a great basketball school, meaning they have a great team, for cleveland to beat them you can compare to most teams in chattanooga.

Van Buren is NOT a good team at all. But i see in the timesfreepress today that SM rebounded great from that loss, they must have played hard to beat silverdale by 24 and only score like 60 points. if they can keep up their great defensive work ethic they have their chance of a district championship or top two finish. SM's intense coach must have had them do a little soul searching like i suggested before, cause they sure got it done, keep up the good work.

i have been interested in signal mountains new programs since the school has started, last year the eagles went 10-14 and lost in first round of playoffs. this year i know they beat the struggling temple. and i have "heard" they lost to van buren county? the eagles have a very talented team but how is this possible to lose to van buren? what is everyones take on the eagles winning the district in basketball or a second place, is their district championship hopes dead after to losing to the horrible van buren team? i say the eagles could make some big fireworks this season with very few loses, but they sure need to do some soul searching after that disgraceful loss. hopefully just a slow start on the season. good luck to the eagles!

really. outside of coach price, sm coaching staff is very, lets say lacking with the loss of both weathers jr. and sr. i dont blame them for getting new coaches.

everyone that is making comments about the coaching staff for signal, im pretty sure the old defensive coordinator was dismissed for disrespecting the team, i will not specify the problem but coach price does not allow people to hurt the team even the other coaches, so they had to bring in more coaches.

i will congratulate any team that come back from being down by 24 in the second half. signal had it and gave it away that shows great heart.
