  1. St. Mary's is going to the finals! St. Mary's 1 St. George 0
  2. Dog, I could post a fruit salad recipe and you and soccermom would have something negative to say about it. (That's 20 words, if anyone is counting.)
  3. Ok, dog, now it's my turn to ask you what you've been smokin'. Lol. Sweet dreams.
  4. Don't know about Brentwood, CAK and Bearden, but they should be ranked over Houston and Collierville. They are the best in the West, as least for now.
  5. Glad to see St. Benedict and Briarcrest reversed, which is clearly appropriate at this juncture, but a little surprised to see Hutchison so far down the list. They've earned a little more respect, in my opinion.
  6. Don't even know what that means, canes...I don't eat porridge.
  7. What, no commentary? You had half a dozen derogatory comments last night about a game you didn't even see. Surely, this was a "game you wish you had back" or at least your usual "funny game..soccer"
  8. I was there and they played 4-5-1, not 9-1.. and they couldn't have had 21 players in the box because they don't have that many players on the team!! I think it would be great to combine Germantown's defense with Houston's offense. What a great team that would be!! We could call it.. oh, I don't know.. Saint Agnes?? lol
  9. Any predictions on tonight's rematch?
  10. Well, Canes, you called that one right! Are you sure you weren't the center ref? Actually, if you didn't see it, it was a better game than the score reflects. I would pretty much agree with SmallTeamBigHeart's analysis. PK on an unfortunate call and also a goal that appeared to be a "save" on the ground, but then was called a goal. I guess the ref thought it broke the plane? But even without those two, clearly a strong Houston victory. They've just got so much depth! I was also impressed to see how hard they work to be first to the ball and then to play the ball quickly. Second goal was a really super shot and that last one was sweet! Congratulations, Houston!
  11. Don't you mean a win or a tie will make Houston the district champs?
  12. I think your scenario is very plausible if Germantown's midfield doesn't step up and slow down the attack. They can't just focus on trying to shut down Olivia Harrison, because senior, Tish Blankenship, is an effective playmaker as well, and when she is on her game she is hard to stop.
  13. Good analysis. If the midfield can't slow down the attack, Houston may literally wear Germantown's defense out. Houston has such depth that they can keep running fresh legs in, which is a luxury Germantown doesn't have.
  14. It sounds like your game may have been a good example of the kind of game I was referring to- a strong offensive team vs. a strong defensive team. What was the final score? 0-0?
  15. It's not for me to enjoy it or not. You said in your previous post in reference to Germantown's being a defensive team: I was merely pointing out that they had indeed done exactly that against Collierville (scored one more than there opponent). But my main observation was it would be interesting to see a strong defensive team against a strong offensive team. No "offense" meant to anyone at all. I agree with you that Germantown seems to have trouble finishing. Then again there are teams that are all about the offense at the expense of the defense. (You know who you are)
  16. Ponyclub's question? Sorry you lost me there... You're right. Germantown's strength is its defense. If they score, it will not be a lot. But they did manage to outscore Collierville. Houston scored a lot of goals vs. Collierville, but allowed almost as many. I'm just saying, it should be interesting to see a strong defensive team play a strong offensive team. Good luck to both.
  17. Houston-less than 4 Germantown-?
  18. It looks that way, but it will be interesting to see if they can do it next week against Germantown, who has one of the strongest defenses in the area.
  19. Houston 3 Collierville 1 Both teams will be pumped for this game and I don't think Collierville will let Houston run away with it.
