Congrats to D. Roop and his troops When the playoffs start every thing is even. I coached David when he was young in a couple of leagues. He is a gamer and a super all around young man. My hat is off to him and his parents ( great people also ) Their year has not been an easy one. They have never quit and with CS in the back field any thing can happen. I am not a DB fan but I wish them good luck.

Happt Valley has some big boys and hit hard on D. A friend of mine who helps coach them told me they were more pass orentiented this year than in years past. When North played them it was called the mud bowl. The field was sloppy the 1st 1/2 then it poured down for the whole 12 minutes of half time. After the 1/2 walking was an effort in the middle of the field. There was no pass game and just about no run game. It got to be a mean hard hitting brawl. By the end of the game the playes and refs all looked like they had on the same color uniforms. Happy Valley has a good QB and a good tight end along with a defense that comes after you. GP should win but you will know you were in a game. GOOD LUCK AND SAFE PLAY TO BOTH TEAMS. GO RAIDERS

Unicois young men played hard but could not stack up against North's hard hitting play. Unicoi never stopped and showed a lot of heart. Norths young ones got to play all the offence & a lot of the defense the whole 2nd half. The future looks good for Coach Norris & the black & gold. The freshmen only got beat 1 time in over time and the middle school team went 10 -0. Thanks to all the Raider Coaches, they all go out of their way to help every raider player become a better player and a better person in every way GO RAIDERS

If I remember correctely the heart of this Boone team has been together since jv county ball at Grey and they were a good team then. I think either team could win. Boone must play almost perfect ball and the vikes will need to turn the ball over a time or two. Boone is better than a lot of people think, but if TH can break their spirit early it could get ugly. Either way the little ole county school out in the country has proven it can play with any one. Good luck and be safe to both teams GO RAIDERS

Man, winter was in full swing at Haysi yesterday. Haysi is a nice little place with a HUGE Football tradition. They have as good a QB as any we have faced this year & #70 their MLB will play some where at the next level. He is smart, big and gets to the ball. But in the end North's smash mouth style won out over the Haysi air attack. We looked a little stiff from Thrusday and the 2.5 hour bus ride but our D line attacked their QB all day and #31 stepped up and carried the day for us on O. Both teams played with class and a huge amount of heart. Hats off to Haysi and GO RAIDERS

Hello Pujo I take it you are talking about Happy Valley Middle. We have heard you are very good as well. Looks like we are going to be seeing a lot of each other in the new 3 rivers arena, and it looks like it will always be a war. We play Chucky Tuesday and I guess you have Holston, maybe we will get a rematch from last year. It is good to see two county schools in the shadows of the big city boys doing well. I saw a lot of fired up plays and hits on both sides last night but nothing to make them not shake our hands. Our freshmen shook their hands last year and told them great game after they kicked our butts in our middle school post game.#32 looks like he is getting better and better. I also heard HV was not coming back on Monday for the JV, if so that is a shame as the future is in the games on Monday and Thursday. The Black & Gold tide is rising, the middle school team went undefeated and the freshmen have been beat only once in over time. Coach Norris is building a beautiful machine across the road from Momma's House in the shadows of DB. A lot of our young boys are getting playing time 3 nights a week. All you football parents out there with a son that is standing on the side lines waiting for his chance to play talk to a Raider parent or coach, we would love to have you, like many other parents and players that have already came to the Black & Gold to PLAY FOOTBALL, GO RAIDERS

We will be there as always, I hope all the boys will get over last nights slobberknocker by tomorrow. I know several will be sore. There were some hard hits. GO RAIDERS

Both teams played hard but Norths run game could go were the warriors pass game could not. The field got in worst shape by the minute. Passing was just about impossible. GO RAIDERS

the horns are a good solid team with a great freshman and jv team coming up behind them. Thier QB will do what ever he has to to keep them in the game and #82 is a beast. BUT betsy will not be beaten until they come upon a team that can pass cover them in man when they are in the spread. In cover 3 you give their qb the holes he is looking for and he will run your d ragged. GOOD LUCK AND SAFE PLAY TO BOTH TEAMS. GO RAIDERS

I coached my son for many years and found that there are 100 reasons why you lost by 1 or 2 points in a game but only one reason why you lose by 30 or more ( the other team was better than you this year) The Black and Gold wave is building brick by brick, Coach Norris gives the young ones as much attention in practice EVERY DAY as the upper classmen. He is here for the long haul and so are the Raider faithful, GOOD LUCK BETSY, for the rest of the season, you do the spread as good as I have seen it run. I hope we have enough North starters to play Friday night. The Thursday freshman game was canceled because of sickness.There were over 100 students out Wednesday and Thursday. We don't have a lot of extras. I guess we will all have some out sick this week. GOOD LUCK to every one and lets all pray that not one kid gets hurt this Friday night. Remember this, it is not always the size of the dog in the fight that matters, some times it is the size of the fight in the dog. GO RAIDERS

Elizabethon is a great team this year, but North will come to play no matter what. The double wing is hard to stop when you have several hard running backs. Crow now Rebelyell your days are about over, you are about to see what the city of Kingsport can do to your numbers just like it did to Bloomingdale and Lynn Garden years back. Soon you will be small like us and and our young ones will beat you just like we did when we wore green and you wore red. North has no feeder schools, our 8th grade goes to North and our 7th graders are bused to North to practice. Some of our freshmen have been coached by the same coaches for 6 or 7 years. Most of our players have played Lynn Garden summer football, then played county football, them middle school.They live to play.They are not always the best or biggest but they love it and heart with take you a long way. Boys from all over the region are coming to North every year to PLAY football. They know if you are good enough you will play no matter where your dad works or what kind of car you have. Elizabethton may very well win Friday night but rest assured they will hurt Saturday morning. GO RAIDERS
