Nathan is one heck of a pounding runner.I knew when I saw you did not throw much we would put 8 in the box and make it hard to run but you still went down the field until you tried outside. The line is all Freshmen but two Our starting D end and center on Var are sophs and did not come of coarse.The big full back is a soph as is #1 & #7 the QB (my son) Norths Varsity did not practice this week and Coach Norris rode up to watch his youngens play I knew that would bring out the best in all the boys trying to move up. Your team played tough and will do well when it is their time on Friday night. North may not win the 3 rivers the next 2 years but the road to winning the confrence will run through Bloomingdale. Hey jhilts when a parent spends 10 long hard years getting his player ready for Friday night and all of a sudden it looks like it may not be a good fit where he is and you see a heart broken( that can be for many reasons talent depth coach and so on) You look at many options. Some kids choose playing time over friends some don't . The main thing is for him to have a great time. Not every one gets lucky and lives where they fit best. Batman talks football where we work like most and is up front and honest not just a DB man. I on the other hand am Raider to my toenails but love all the boys I have coached through the years and pull for them ALL

I don't disagree with you on that Crawdad but being a kid I know and care for I wanted to ask the question several on the outside looking in have wondered. I don't see him having much good to look back on about his high school football days and no matter why, that is a true shame. Good Luck with the rest of your season and playoff run

South got the stud but North got his stereo DB got the QB from that team who is also a baseball stud. I don't hold it against any parent for cheering but he is like 10 of those central horns but there again thats football and we all love our teams and kids

If #5 is alive he'll play he's one tough kid.Vol did not change their lineup for next year at all just don't understand not trying to get at least one or two sure wins Centrals coach has a lot of his young players and their parents so mad they are wanting to quit or move because of playing starters on jv and jvers on the frosh team along with not subbing in a 60 point loss. He would not play Norths 9 & 10th grade team because he said it was not a true Freshman team.I guess you could call this the They just don't get it bowl.I see Holston Middle and Blountville middle went to the playoffs again. I watched the JV game Monday night as well, the Cornett boy and the Lacey boy make a fine backfield combo. There was another back that did well also but I can't remember his name.The landers have a tough jv team but were a little out gunned. It looks like Betsy, North and HV all have some great 10 graders coming. HV beat us but by no means had an easy win. There will be some wars in the 3 rivers for the next few years.It will be very intersting Friday to watch a very good 2a team play a good solid 3a team. Any one that thinks Betsy HV and North put together could beat Alcoa is on crack. Betsys team last year was a good as any regular 3a team in the state. The reason all Alcoa did was run was because that was all they needed to do.It looked like you hit the ff button when they got the ball. Kids play there from all over Knoxville in what is called an open districted (sp) school. Another T$$AA master piece. Good Luck Bulldogs because of another T$$AA super rule we will get seeded higher than both 3 rivers teams that beat us because of our overall records The worst part on my night Monday was looking foward to a King of the Road ribeye and seeing them closed. Both teams play well and safe.

No Barb I don't think Greenville needs to or should play up but I think in the long run all good programs would do better if they were in the rankings 1a 2a 3a and so on. Then if you have a program like yours pick teams from bigger classes to get ready for the playoffs ( like you did) I know travel and money play a big part in this and Tennessee is a big long state. There is no doubt your program is the best 4a any where right now and you have worked hard the get where you are and I wish you the best of luck

Yeah once we teach how to play we send them back, just kidding, don't think I didn't try to get him in Black & Gold. Terance played with about 10 kids on that fins team that are Raiders now. they were some team. It makes you feel good as a coach to think maybe you helped just a little some where down the line. T and his dad are the best GOOD LUCK again and hope to see you again real soon.

Every child picks his team for different reasons when he has a choice, some for playing time or a favorite position most I would say to stay with friends. My point was it hurts your program when you know the best you can do is 2nd. Every year I hear, well we will give them a game but you know better and so do the kids.When we played DB we knew we would get killed and all we hoped for was to live, and it hurt our program.The T$$AA needs to come up with something besides JUST student #s

I am not from green county but read most of the post just to fill my football fix. Being from the Sullivan North side of Kingsport I know how the Grn county county schools feel for years we lost sevral good players to DB almost every year.Understand though if you are a parent of a kid you have worked with hauled every where, worked countless concession stands, sold stuff at work until your coworkrs run when they see you coming, and so on and so on. If he is good enough and it comes time to go to where your son will be looked at the most for the next level will you waste all your son and your family have done. If your son is willing to give up his friends and the comfort of the school and area he has grown up in,because of the love of football then what choice do you as a parent have. On a good note as DBs team got bigger and bigger a lot of good solid players decided that playing 3 years at North sounded better than starting 1 year at DB, we actually get several from DB every year now. We no longer play them and the schools get along well and pull for each other. I think Greenville city being out of your confrence would be the best thing for all the teams in Greenville. JMO

I think DB has heard all the one & done stuff they want to hear. I look for them to show how good they are. GC needs to show SC to be the man you gotta beat the man. I know you don't want any one hurt with the playoffs coming( or any other time for that matter) but I'd like to see CS push it in one more time with 2 seconds left to make the score 100 to 0. I mean that is the SC way is it not ???????

He fits in great right where he is and loves it. We don't make stars we make good friends and good teams. I guess you saw the little ones down on the sideline with brother, our draft picks for the next few years look strong. Cook tied a school record for the longest run last night. Cook & Newberry have played for Coach Monk I think about 12 years. Senior night will be hard on them, I hate the thought of it in 2 years myself I sure don't want to go out on that field that night.

Look at all the Good winning programs around the area and see if you can come up with one that does not have a great peewe, county, middle school program. The ones with the best ones are the ones winning. SC knew what the county & middle school Chargers along with some pirates did for him. I am sure he will address all that in JC as well. Clark knows what Lynn View peewee does for him thats why he sent every single player a letter last year. Long gone are the days of starting football in high school.
