  1. Pemberton's teams would have beaten all of these teams IMO... As for Meadows and staff I agree, the times I have seen them I wasn't impressed.
  2. Ugly game to watch with all of the penalties by Catholic and turnovers by Webb but the better team won it. Catholic never really was able to do much of anything and once again the Webb coaching staff displayed why they are one of the best in the state. They literally played about 15 guys excluding a few others on special teams. Coach Meske and staff really coach up the kids they have each and every year. Happy to see my Spartans continue the win streak that the state champ 2009 team started 4 years ago.
  3. Agreed Football Dad, it's just a shame the two can't seem to get together on a consistent basis. I also agree CAK is on the rise and taking off my Spartan glasses I would predict CAK would most likely handle Webb this year. Enough about this, good luck to CAK the rest of the way.
  4. Both CAK and Webb had this date open up on their schedules with LCA backing out from playing CAK and Ensworth opting to play Lexington Catholic on ESPN last night. I know for a fact that Webb offerred to play CAK at CAK and they wouldn't agree to do it. Just sayin'
  5. I agree Webb will be a contender for a state championship but there is one thing that will keep that from happening. They have zero depth. In fact, last night they dressed 32 players including freshmen. If they have any injuries at all during playoffs, it will very tough for them to win it all.
  6. Agree about blance... he doesn't have the speed he did two years ago as a soph.
  7. Very impressed and proud of my Spartans. They left everything out on the field and stood toe to toe with a tremendous Alcoa team which will be top 3 in the state in any class. Alcoa is a great team... huge lines, speed at every skill position and quality depth. Spartans showed incredible effort with all starters going both ways. The first quarter goal line stand and immediate march of 99 yards for the first score of the game really tells you what Webb football is all about. Lack of numbers eventually caught up with Webb and my hat is off to every one of them who competed last night. Finally, Webb's coaching staff always does a great job and it starts with the man I played for, Coach Meske. He is by far one of the best head coaches in the state and has several loyal staff members who do an unbelievable job year after year teaching, mentoring and coaching the players up. So much respect for Coach Meske and staff.
  8. Webb's numbers are WAY down and have been declining since the 2009 state championship team. With a roster of 35ish players, including freshmen, they will have to be perfect to complete with the likes of Alcoa.
  9. Y'all decided to play in the public league knowing your enrollment was increasing and aware of what the multiplier would do. Then you try to appeal to the tssaa to have the multiplier reduced and got denied.
  10. Complete domination... sure USJ gave up a lot of yardage to C. Blance and 4 TDs but it really didn't matter. USJ manhandled Webb's o-line and d-line all night long. Webb's defense was hapless at stopping the pass. 5 DBs and 3 LBs in pass coverage still couldn't stop USJ's deadly accurate QB and receivers. All the credit to USJ players and coaches, they played and called a great game. What a special night for all of their seniors. It's been a great run for Webb, starting with the 2009 team who started it with two significant accomplishments by ending the losing streak to Knoxville Catholic and winning the state championship, the 2010 team with their perfect season and state championship and finally this year's team who had a great year but just had no answer for USJ last night. Hope the throng of USJ coaches, players, parents, students and fans had a safe trip home. Good luck against St. George's, you whipped them once this year now go get your gold ball!
  11. Actually Huthchinson >> couldn't << care less. Saying he could care less means he cares somewhat... which is completely not possible. Until he gets run out of there, Webb will never reach their full potential in athletics. You are exactly right, they could compete with anyone in the state if Coach Meske had the backing of the administration. Anyway, tonight my Spartans should roll. I expect C. Blance to go off tonight with TK Kelly showing everybody why he will be a big time DB prospect in 2 years when he's a senior. USJ is probably relieved to not have to defend A. Blance since he's no longer at Webb but don't underestimate the other RBs like Berube & Kelly, they can score in the blink of an eye. Webb's defense will hit USJ harder than anyone they have played this year. Ask the SBEC quarterback how it feels, he didn't want any more after the first couple of possessions! Spartans 41-7.
  12. Complete domination... 49-0 at half. SBEC had no answer to stop Webb's running game and Webb's defense completely stopped the stud SBEC QB.
  13. hey sherlock... i don't follow the kid. was told about it by someone who had heard about it. how's that for some inside info red robin? yum!
  14. not so private when he tweets for the whole world to see.
  15. what the heck is that suppose to mean? aaron's in nashville stayin with vic wharton.
  16. been dismissed from webb for violating webbs code of conduct. he will not be back and might be going to cpa in nashville.
  17. maybe so but the 2009 team would be slightly better than either one. tons of seniors with very good lines on both sides of the ball with basically the same skill players. 3 really good LBs and 2 very good safeties. you're right, this years lines have a lot of work to do before they can make another title run.
  18. Or the 2009 Webb team. That team was stout and loaded with a bunch of seniors on both sides of the ball. That year's team started this successful run for them.
  19. Lot of ya'll talkin about Maryville having a depth advantage. Well that's true since they prolly have 2 times more players then Webb does. Last I heard Webb will dress around 40. What you have to remember is that Webb always has low numbers so they spend a lot of time on conditioning because they know they will be playing a bunch both ways and all 4 quarters. I really don't think the depth will make a big difference since Webb will no doubt shorten the game by trying to run clock with their running game. I'm pullin for my Spartans but the difference could be that they only return 2 starters on both lines and I think Maryville will try and take advantage of their inexperience. Webb has speed and talent at all of the skill positions but Maryville should have a big advantage in the trenches. I'm counting on my Spartans to capitalize on turnovers and surprise Maryville. My Spartans by 4... 28-24.
  20. Im hearing my spartans have a lot of work to do. They have all of their skill players back except for qb but only 2 ol or dl with any real game experience. Both their lines are pretty much going to have to be completely rebuilt since only 2 starters return. They have some young talent but not sure if they are ready for the likes of Maryville and Ensworth back to back to start off the season. Webbs coaches seem to always find a way to get new lineman ready but this year will be a huge challenge given the lack of size and youth they have at those positions. Not a lot of depth either with a roster looking to be around 40 including freshmen.
  21. really? ur dbs got burned for 2 tds last night and ur defense gave up 450 yds. coulda been worse.
  22. looks like my spartans handled the bears last night. it was my spartans who ran for 300 yds and that was without our #1 rb who has missed the last 3 games. we waited for the bears and handled them
  23. well i guess you can say my spartans have won region after beating da last night. maybe we will win state maybe we wont but that win last night was sweet
  24. well it's almost game time! my spartans better be ready cause DA will bring it! they got a great rb who can flat out play. will my spartans be ready to play a complete game? c'mon yall this is DA. you owe them a little payback from last year. should be a great game and i plan to be in town to check it out. DA took it to us last year especially there o and d lines. payback time let's go!
