The Laughter girl has a way to go to be 'power' for Wartburg. She has size and the potential, but not sure she will ever get the power needed in the post.

I have to agree. A rematch between Wartburg and Jellico is entirely probable. It'll be another great game to see!!

I do think Oakdale will win the district, but you can never count out Wartburg or OZ during post season play. They both tend to play their best ball during tournament time. As for Wartburg being the best team next year, I'm just not ready to agree. They'll have 7 total players return next year. Lots of girls have quit this year from what I've heard was lack of playing time. Currently it looks like the coach is playing all the remaining girls, so they'll all return with some experience howbeit small. Oakdale returns some dominate players again next year, so just might be the team to watch again.

Didn't WB Middle School just change from one large division to another? Now they are playing in the same division as Harriman, Rockwood, Oliver Springs instead of traveling to LaFollette, Jacksboro, Robertsville, & Horace Manard? Doesn't that make more sense? They'll be playing those same teams in high school. I don't see the need to be critical of this move.

Congrats Coalfield on a great win and best of luck in the state tournament!!! Hope to see you beat Jackson County! Watched the Wartburg/NG game Saturday. Wartburg ladies did not play up to the potential we know they have. Referees weren't great. However, the biggest hurdle was being out coached. No adjustments were made to overcome the halftime deficit of 20 points. No pressure on the 3 point shot. Unusual strategy with players playing who hadn't played all year. Overall it's been a great season, District 4A!! Good job, Seniors! Looking for Oakdale to contend for region championship next year!

Transfer from Coalfield to Wartburg is Massengill who didn't see much playing time last year. Transfer to Clarkrange is Justes. Both transfers will have little impact on Wartburg's program. Did hear Scarbrough is not playing at Coalfield this year. That fact will impact them greatly.
