As stated earlier, has Alcoa considered playing in a higher classification? I would think that would allow for much higher exposure for this awesome program that you have there and potentially climb higher in the national picture. I would think that outside pollster would consider your wins against the smaller schools in your classification a question mark on your resume. I know you guys play schools bigger than you quiet often, but the measuring stick is championships. Is Alcoa good enough to win a 5a or 6a state championship? 4a - definitely. 5a - a chance. 6a - probably not a good chance.

Who is coaching at Crockett Co now? Is it still Coach Pratt?

OK. I am new to the board but I have read for quite some time about the zone stuff (I would do it if I could get away with it and so would anybody else), nobody wants to play Alcoa (having to have contracts and travel like crazy to pick up out of district games), and now the rivals 100 ranking which I believe the Alcoa program is very deserving. It used to be that you could play up from your school classification meaning Alcoa could play as a 3a school or 4+a. Why don't they move up. I guess I could understand wanting to make sure the team has their "due" path to a championship going through relatively undermaned teams. So how can Alcoa consider itself to be the best without truly playing the best the state has to offer. Should they hold themselves to a higher standard to try to be the best they can be or simply hang around and talk about being the best and playing to lesser opposition. Not saying that the Milan's out there can't spank you, but those programs are few and far between in 3a (just look at the top ten).

Polk County is a top 10 team. Not #3, but probably top 10. McMinn Central is not, at this point, close to being top 10. Hadn't seen Austin-East, but why are they still up there? I believe Milan should be #2 but we will have to see what they do with Dyersburg and Crocket County (#2 4a). No doubt Alcoa is #1. No opinion on the rest.

I trust the good folks from Milan and WTN have a sense of humor. Uh. that's funny. Still bet Alcoa-Milan get there rematch. Will get my first look at Alcoa at the McMinn Central game (I'm a Central fan) which Alcoa will cruise through. Hope I'm not disappointed in the product that I expected after the Maryville result. Been following Milan too and they are finally starting to roll (had my doubts earlier this year but they were banged up). Sure seems like another f5 year.

OK. I'm a Central fan but the Central team that played Friday has got a lot to do to get ready to just stay in the game with Alcoa. I want to see it happen but it ain't. I believe they should be able to handle a Sweetwater team that is way down. The rest of the games are toss ups. Not sure who we might get in the first round of the playoffs, if we make it. Sorry, but I was really disappointed with the SQHS game and I am a realistic fan.

Any injured players coming back before the playoffs or anybody with nagging injuries that should be back to 100% soon.
