  1. Thanks CoachT for shedding some light on this matter and opening things back up! Has Coach Thomas been in contact with the cheerleader to at least say he was sorry? Seems like that would be something that needs to be done. I do hope the TSSAA does something about this. Did "Big Mac and the side orders of fries" play Saturday night?
  2. I keep hearing SCHS crying about LCHS students storming the court, cheerleaders and students being in the way of the locker room, administration issues, etc.. This "brawl" that happened didn't take place on the floor, it happened in the LCHS student section. If the fight had happened on the floor then I might be a little more understanding but Andrews and posse went into the stands to fight our students!
  3. I just heard the same thing about the film. As far as the problems, I have heard that what they saw was not going to be good for SCHS players and coach! The truth may hurt, we will find out Tuesday!
  4. Question: This may be off the subject but besides Cedric Wilson, the year Melrose came to Giles County and scored at will, what other D1 players were on that team? How far did that team make it that year?
  5. OK........you got me! After that I now see the light! Mitchell and Melrose are the superior teams! Memphis teams win every title from here on out!!
  6. I need no burger cause I have already eaten! Fact is that West TN teams may have athletes but are just not very well coached! Horse or no horse I predict a rematch between Hardin County and Lawrence County! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!
  7. I dont see HC stunning Melrose this week. These 2 teams match up pretty well IMO. HC can win this game. ummm....the smoke from the herbal essence have gone to your noggin!! You are nuts if you think HC remotely matches up with the Golden Wildcats at ANY position!! Wake up dude!! Let me get this straight! Hardin County doesn't have a chance and they beat Ridgeway by 1 and Ridgeway beat Melrose by 1. Sounds like someone is on a high horse!!
  8. Jody.....you got a few right Friday and a few wrong. You went against LCHS and I wouldn't expect anything less this week. I added your your predictions just for good measure. I think you will miss the LCHS game again!!"16-12 I think Craigmont's speed and size and overall experience with the Wing-T is enough for them to win. 27-18 Mitchell over Jackson Northside, I'm not really familiar with Northside, but I do know Melrose normally dismantled them when they were making their lengthy playoff runs, so I believe Malone will start an awesome playoff run. 36-14 Melrose over Bartlett, Too much firepower for a hardworking Bartlett team and Melrose will have just enough D to contain Matthews. Hardin Co. over Ridgeway, I just don't think Ridgeway is consistent enough on the ground or throwing the ball. Walton hasn't done much after his big output against White Station, so I'm going with Hardin Co. 28-18 Arlington over Independence, I think Arlington shocks a whole lot of Middle TN fans and if the field is dry I think the score may be a little more lopsided. Germantown vs. Whitehaven is an honest toss up. Whitehaven should blow Gtown off the field, but their performances(especially being dismantled by The Station and Melrose) leads me to believe Gtown will do just enough to win, and maybe along with some home-cooking. Wooddale 22 Millington 12- Too much D for Millington to move the ball and big plays made by the D and Special Teams lead the Cardinals over Millington Kirby 18 Brighton 16- Really close game, only giving the edge to Kirby, because of Deion and Fred. White Station 36 Cordova 14- Complete Mismatch"
  9. Glad to see you had a safe trip back GoChiefs! That is one heck of a team yall have there. I would have to say that was the largest O'line and D'line I have seen at the High School level. Of course I have seen teams with kids that weighed more but not that big and athletic. I never would have thought Craigmont would have held this team to just 12 points. I guess LCHS will start looking at Mitchell now but will not forget the Craigmont team anytime soon. #9 is a very good player. He may be the one that has to spy on the Malone kid. I think he can get the job done. I for one think they will play with Mitchell but we all will have to wait and see!!
  10. Go Chiefs I would have to agree that LCHS may not see a better defense than the one yall brought to Lawrence County last night. That is the biggest and most athletic team I have seen in some time. LCHS will not back down from Mitchell though. This team has been told they would finish last in their own district and never once let that distract them. This bunch are winners! I kind of felt like there was lots of pressure on these kids to prove that they can play with the big boys from the West and they did that last night. I expect this Widcat team to come out and play a more mistake free game than they played against Craigmont. Ball control will have to be better for LCHS to win. No fumbles!! The home crowd was good and I expect the same size crowd again. Craigmonts crowd was very low and I was surprised since they have such a great team. This game should be a great game and Mitchells playoff experience will be hard to overcome but LCHS has played up to the challenge. LCHS will win this in a close one!!
  11. Sounds like LCHS might as well forfeit!! Maybe we can just play loose and see what they really have?
  12. Very good football game! Craigmont is a very good football team and extremely athletic! My hats off to this bunch. Great job CATS!!!!!!!!
  13. Great to hear from you again ftbllfn! It appears most people are picking Craigmont to win a close one here. This LCHS team is getting little respect about like Hardin County. I hope all teams to the east of Memphis wins. Good luck to both LCHS and Hardin County. Maybe they will meet again this year! Nope not any respect for any of the rural teams. The Memphis teams pretty much have dominated through the years. Interesting scenrio to me is how Ridgeway and Craigmont end up playing in mostly 6A team distircts then melrose, east, mithcell have one 6A team in their district. Makes for a tough road. I actually think if the system is not tweaked a bit we will one day see a 7 or 8 seed 5A team out of Memphis win the state. Funny you have said the Memphis teams have dominated through the years so I thought I would list how dominating they have been over the years. If you would notice there are few Memphis teams that have been very dominating! 14. I love this line............"He didn't even throw the helmet.....he swung it (bad decision) and it slipped out of his hand and onto the ground."!! This is great stuff!!
  15. This sounds pretty darn good! This needs to be looked at a little closer. I for one like the 6 different divisions. Alabama has had 6 divisions for a number of years and their system seems to run smooth. I say fix the new system and leave the past in the past!
  17. Lets hope your a Brighton fan and not a Munford fan!! However, I did hear the Munford band was going to some kind of Championship.
  18. Ok........very honest opinion! Here is my honest opinion also. I hope this doesn't make some bulletin board as motivation because I am only a football fan and honestly don't know much about any of these teams except Lawrence County and Hardin County. I have seen LCHS play several times this year and also made the trip over to watch the Hardin County game a couple weeks back. Here goes, I think Lawrence County wins this game. I hope this doesn't hurt you too bad GoChiefs and I am being serious. Yes, Craigmont did stop a Millington team that runs the same style offense but I honestly am not sure Millington runs it as good as LCHS. This we all will be able to tell Friday. Both teams appear to have solid defense and run to the ball very well. Is Craigmont a #8 seed, yes but if they beat Bartlett like they should have then they would have probably been a #3 seed, so this will be the closest and best #1 vs #8 game in the state. I would have to say Melrose wins their game but not in a thumping. I feel like this will be a good game. Bartlett played extremely well last week and beat a very good football team and should be on a high. Mitchell wins their game and goes into cruise control the second half of this game. I am not saying a blowout but even with Gibson out they should be able to take care of business. Hardin County loses a close one here. Even with their QB back I am not sure they will match up against the speed of Ridgeway. Hardin County got completely worn down when they played LCHS and the second half was all Lawrence County due to the fact they are not deep enough and was a tired football team. I would have loved to have seen the Hardin/Jackson NS game to have been able to make a better prediction. One thing is for sure, this quad will have some great games.
  19. I just can't make you happy can I GoChiefs! I start by saying LCHS will win and you don't like that. Then I say Craigmont will win and you don't like that either. One more try, This game will end in a tie after 10 overtimes and both teams will advance for another game! I am really scared to say what the score will be. Do you think a low tied score of a high tied score? I will let you say. Have a safe trip over Friday and watch the road construction between Hardin County and Wayne County!
  20. You're right.....games arent played on paper or on bulletin boards. But if you think that bulletin board material is all we use to get the kids fired up, then you have obviously never been in a locker room. Bulletin boards are used to add more fire to a team. Be careful how much fire you give this team. Ask Briarcrest what a fired up Craigmont team can do. You know, I have never thought of this the way it has been explained here! I am now changing my prediction. I just don't don't think Lawrence County will be able to play on a dry field. This will be so new to them that those 300 + yard games are finished. The Chiefs are also so fired up from reading these boards that they will have a fire under them that has never been seen from a high school team. The Bartlett game was an absolute fluke. This bunch let them win just so they could take travel and show off their talents to the kids from middle TN. This 2A Briarcrest team is much more talented and the bench is so much more deep than this 5A LCHS team it won't even be funny! Another thing is that West TN teams are just more physical, better coached, faster, bigger and are just plainly more talented than any of the teams east of Memphis. That is the reason west teams win the state every year. I think that I will be attending the White County game now due to the fact they are a much more superior team at 1-9 and should match up well against any team out of the middle and east. Do I get a five dollar footlong too?? Good luck Friday night and GO CHIEFS
  21. Good stuff.....keep the bulletin board material coming. The games are not won on a bulletin board! It is playoff time and if all you have to get the Chiefs up is some bulletin board posts then you are in trouble! GO CATS
  22. The more I read and check on this game the more I think it might get ugly but not from the weather. It appears that LCHS will win this game and win it pretty handily! Craigmont seems to have a pretty good defense but not much offense. They lucked out with a trick play against Millington and then held on for dear life.
  23. You think Franklin County is going to upset someone and can't even beat the 5A teams in their own district?? Unbelievable
  24. It appears that if this bunch is picking it would be all West teams playing for the championship! I am not convinced the west teams are that strong. I guess we will see soon enough. I would have to say the TSSAA has these teams picked about right except for the Hardin County game. They may be the only team that gets beat according to the seeding. LCHS will handle Craigmont about the same way Bartlett did and Melrose will beat Bartlett in a close one.
  25. fballfan, if youre basing your opinion of Craigmont on the Bartlett game, just throw that out the window. That was one of the worst games - if not THE worst game - I have ever seen this team play. Keep in mind that last year this team almost had a letdown against Central the last game of the year (needed a late TD to win) and rebounded fairly well and played Whitehaven very tough. Only this team is much better than last year's team and I think will come together and play alot better football than they did against Bartlett. Not playing in a swamp for the first time in like 6 weeks can't hurt either. First off, I am not basing an opinion at all and certainly not on the Bartlett game! I have never seen Craigmont play and have no idea what kind of team they will bring to Lawrence County. I do believe to have such a massive breakdown going into the playoffs can't help. I am not sure LCHS can even beat the Chiefs. The swamp thing doesn't mean much to me, both teams were playing on the field at the same time. I am not by any means downing this Craigmont team. I would however like to know what they have. I am a fan of many teams and I am looking for the best round one game to attend. I am sure the coaches have film so talking about the teams shouldn't give much away on here. I have seen LCHS play on several occasions this year and I am not positive they are better than a Millington team or a Riverdale. I wouldn't know but I do know this team is very talented and they do not make many mistakes. They are big up front and should match up well with the Chiefs there. They have speed at the skill positions. They have a solid seconday and a very good punter. The field goal/extra point team has been subject but is improving late in the season. As far as comparing them to other West teams you will have to make that comparision on Saturday. Three plus hours travel will also be in favor of the home team. One of the longest travel times in the first round. Considering most of Craigmonts games are played just across town could make a difference. GoChiefs would you care to share a little of your knowledge of the Chiefs? Tell some about this team and what makes them win this round one game.
