  1. Who all left during the months without a HC? Will any of these guys be returning now that they have a HC? Did Bradley Central's backup QB really transfer there?
  2. I agree on CCS. I think they will be a team on a very noticable rise this year.
  3. Not hatred towards him. He's an extraordinary person. I just think it's dumb that all of the F5ers try to front that Alcoa and Riverdale were anything close to schools playing on an even keel with the rest of the state during his times at the helm. Anyone wanna argue that?
  4. Yes, that was very impressive until you look at the fact that Polk didn't have a good number of their starters including their QB and TB.
  5. Congrats, that is like being the smartest person in Arkansas. It's great for Arkansas but not too impressive when you consider what the claim is and where it is being made. If you wanna gauge how good your team actually is, why don't you look into how many big time guys you put into elite DIV-I football every year. Is it a decent amount? sure. Is it more than Meigs Co.? You bet. Is it more than that of the A-AAAAA champions from the state of Georgia? Hardly not. Is it more than a AA perennial power from Georgia? No. I don't think it's possible for any school in the south to win 2 straight (much less 6 straight) state championships with as little or no elite talent outside the state of Tennessee. 2009 saw Alcoa absolutely DOMINATE the state of Tennessee. It's BEST player couldn't even get an offer from the illustrious state school that is located right down the road from AHS. C'mon, even you real F5 homers know that that says a lot about you and your competition.
  6. Is this an April Fool joke Check the date and yes. Although Albert Means has applied, from what I hear. Why would they not hire the DC from White Station on the spot had he apply for the job? That's just delusional.
  7. True statement about Dalton and the assistant positions. Dalton has a TON of highly qualified volunteer coaches. One for example is Bill Mayo. Other volunteers on staff went to Dalton and then succeeded highly at the college level.
  8. I like Polk's D but i'm not about to sleep on the Redskins. The recent write up in the Loudon paper has me leaning towards them.
  9. Not a Loudon/Bledsoe resident but I've seen both teams. Bledsoe, in your season highlight compilation video, just end it with the Chattanooga Christian game.
  10. Bellyaching huh? Gerry I appreciate everything you've done as far as brackets and such but this mathematically correct bracket really hinders any team hoping to win out of Quad 2. Don't think for a second that Alcoa would rather play CAK for a second time and then possibly face Polk before playing greater competition on the semifinal level. In a perfect storm situation, they will face a should be 1 seed in the quarterfinals then face back to back 1 seeds only after playing their 1 loss rival for the second time in 2 weeks.
  11. The TSSAA talks all the time about "Just doing the right thing". The two 10-0 teams in the East are in the same QUAD......Polk did get the short end of the lack of common sense being applied to playoff bracketing. It would have been easy to put Alcoa in Quad 1 and Polk in Quad 2. Polk has a shot but will have to beat Loudon in the second round. I like their chances. You will get a look at the F5 in the quarters. Great Season for the Wildcats! Good Luck! They did the right thing. Moving one team to avoid a match-up would be the wrong thing to do. No one is going to side with you on this outside of Polk Co. The map doesn't lie. Yes, mathematically, they did the right thing. In real life, no they didn't do the right thing. They should have split up those two districts and had them face District 7 and District 8 respectively. Anyone out of districts 4 and 5 now have the roughest roads to the playoffs and everyone else in the state benefits from it.
  12. The teams that have had an ounce of fan support all season will get the same draw of fans that they usually do.
  13. My point was not based on Polk County(though it's ridiculous they are a 2 seed and undefeated) but the 6 proven teams in that quadrant. You have Alcoa and 5 teams that could contend for the top of all the rest of the quadrants. That's 6 very good teams that are funneled down into a gauntlet to the semis. While i'm soapboxing it, let me give you a scenario... Say an undefeated Polk team makes it to Alcoa and pulls off the upset of a lifetime and knocks them off, how hard will it be for them to play 2 opponents after playing and beating the best public school team in the state of Tennessee? It is ridiculous that an undefeated would have to play another team that finished with an undefeated record before the state semifinals when quads 1 and 3 have 2 loss teams as the number one seed.....that is ridiculous
  14. This isn't a past year. Under this system, its unfair. You can't make exception just because of geography says otherwise. I will be interested to see how correct this is. Some of the match ups were hard because of avoiding 1st round rematches. Quad 1 and Quad 2 both had 4 teams from the same district. Quad 2 is a monster. Unnecessary, plain and simple.
  15. This isn't a past year. Under this system, its unfair. +2
  16. I'm on my second refresh button myself
  17. Does the Harpeth game affect Kingston????
