  1. There is a reason 3 of the 4 transferred to Central. The other one had previously graduated from MJ. 2 of them got cut from basketball last year because the coach wouldn't put up with character issues. 1 got cut from football back in spring last year for same reason.
  2. Your exactly right... 3 of the 4 players involved were from central with the other one graduated.
  3. I do not coach, but have been around the game for a long time. I go to many high school games in the area and see exactly what you are talking about. You almost want to go to their place of employment and heckle them at work. "John, you know you really stink at typing documents." "Billy, you are pretty much worthless." etc.
  4. WCP, I am not a coach, yet a supporter of football. My son played at MJ when coach Winfree and Crawford were coaching. He grew up with a coach on both staffs (MJ and WC) and still talks to both of them from time to time. I now live in Murfreesboro and don't get to catch many of the games although I will be at the jamboree next week. On a side note, I still have friends in MJ with some of there kids going to MJ and a few playing football. They told me that you were a coach at WC and used to coach at a junior high in MJ. I don't know you personally, but think it's pretty shady to get on here and make assumptions on things you think you know. I definitely don't know all the facts, but from an outside point of view it might be time to grow up.
  5. Couple things: Why don't you tell everyone who you really are. You son did not play at MJ, Ensworth, or any other wilson county school. Why don't you tell the people that you coach for a school in wilson county? No more lies. Scrap it and tell the truth. Next, to call someone a bigot for not knowing them that well is shows your intellect. Why so bitter WCP? Did you not get your opportunity at MJ? Stop the bull and shoot it straight.
  6. Please tell us all who you are masked man. Your alligations are ridiculous. Sorry you got cut, or did not get the scholarship you wanted buddy, but you don't have to bring stuff like this up to make yourself feel better. Where is the SC and Hills. game at tom?
  7. Are you the parent or the kid responding to this stuff? From an outside point of view, are we living in a time that the kid is always right? What happened to the time in which what the coach said goes? Now we live in a time of entitlement. Let's go through the ABCD list you mentioned. A) I doubt that no one knew the offense, but I would say considering that it is a new offense they needed all hands on deck. I am pretty sure that older more established kids are supposed to help out the younger kids because it is a team game. I am glad a coach actually steps up to the plate and holds a kid accountable for their social media accounts. You know that colleges, recruiters, and job opportunities are base some of their decision on the persons social media account? We can all find out about an individual's character by checking these accounts. C)I don't know the head coach, but he does have the term "HEAD COACH" there for a reason. I am sure that he, just like every other coach, is looking out for the best interest of the team. If an individual compromises that then they have to make sound judgements on what the next step is. This goes for business as well. I am in a business setting myself and I know that if we have one bad egg it can hinder the whole environment. Some people you have to cut and others cut themselves. D) My son played with the head strength coach at MJ and talks to him frequently. The last time we all got together and talked this topic of supplements was brought up. My son asked him if he promotes supplements to the athletes and he told him that he does not. He did say that if a kid wants to gain or lose weight that he would help with diet goals, but the only supplement that he would consider telling a kid about is chocolate milk as a post workout recovery drink. I don't have a dog in the race because I have no one playing the game anymore in my family, but I do keep up with MJ since that is where I raised my kids. I was wanting to get on here and read about peoples thoughts on the scrimmage since I was there last night until I read this. Sometimes little johnny is not always right and they may not tell the whole story. Usually there is something deeper going on that needs to be addressed. Other than that, I liked the competitive spirit of both teams and coaching staff. It was a fun scrimmage to watch and I wish both teams the best.
  8. I guess we all need to say that the success of the team depends on how may d-1 players they produce. I forgot that the more you have is the extent to how well your program is. C'MON MAN!!!! With the exception of last year, MJ for the past 7 or 8 years has been the best it ever has been in the history of the school. If the player is good enough to play at a d-1 school they will find him. A lot of times it is by word of mouth. An example would be when Hurd was getting recruited by Tennessee, the coaching staff at Beech would help Tennessee out by telling them if there were anymore prospects that could play for their school. Your son gets recognized by what they do for the team they are currently on, going to college camps (not necessarily the combine things where joe blow is getting $100,000), coaches recommendation, and by the player taking the initiative to get recruited (ACT, grades, character, films, applications, etc.) Other than last year I was able to make it to almost every MJ game. I saw some really good player come through the system. The thing you have to keep in mind is they best players in the COUNTRY not county go on to play high level college football. I always keep that in mind when watching games because I to have wondered why so and so only got recruited to play at a NAIA school or D2 school. Sometimes parents and fans forget that point as well as the point that the coach does not take the ACT for the players so if they score a 12 or 13 d-1 is out.
  9. Sounds like things are moving good in Bear Country BKisler. What is up with the offensive line? Talent/coaching? I have a friend that keeps me up to date with the Bears from time to time. He said that the kids are working extremely hard. Hope it stays that way.
  10. I was unable to make it to the game, but heard a lot about it from some people there. What is going on BKisler? What do you not understand with this team? I am interested to hear from your perspective.
  11. Why would a coach not put his best players on the field? Weird comment, but this game over the years has been a pretty good one. Hope it is this time as well.
  12. So your son is Darius Morehead? I think your full of it. I would not listen to anything this guy says. He is an angry parent or former player that didn't get the scholarship they think they deserve. Not every player is SEC material. It is ok to admit that to yourself and move on.
  13. Who is your son because there has been none that went to ensworth. Honestly, you are stirring stuff up. I can also assure you that the coaches work hard to push their kids to college. The best high school players in the country go on to play at the d1 level. McCathern, Graham, and Hopkins all had talent to play at the d1 level, but you have to open your mind a little to understand the full spectrum of what is going on. Mccathern and Graham had a horrible ACT score and Hopkins height got him. Why would a coach not want their kids go on to play at the next level to represent their program? You my friend are stirring stuff up because you or your so called son have a personal conflict with some of the coaches. But to question the integrity of them is an issue I will not stand for. These coaches have helped my son out through thick and thin and I will back them up 100%. Question their play calling or whatever you think you know, but not their integrity. This is a ridiculous post from a ridiculous person. MJPride don't read into this post.
  14. You disagree with everything so it doesn't matter what I put on here. By no means am I making excuses. I am being realistic like you said. They have faced adversity. I don't know why this is an argumentative statement. Anyways, the reason for the post is for a few choice posters that will be able to read between the lines. Not for you ND.
  15. Good post Kisler. Too many negative Nacy's out there. MJ has been put in a tough spot and has faced a lot of adversity. The last thing they need is the dad of a current player, past player, and/or a play who has quit to get on here an post comments that are cowardly at best. I am a Bears supporter through thick and thin. Tough test tonight, but I bet you the Bears fight hard and put out a better showing then what people think.
  16. I had a feeling that a FC booster would get on and post. If your son or daughter was good enough to make it on a public school team such as MJ then they could/would be able to play multiple sports. Sometimes, despite what the kids expert parents have to say, they may not be good enough to make it on every team so they play the one or two they are good at. Congrats on your big win against Harding Acad. last week and good luck against the perennial powerhouse of King's Academy tonight.
  17. If you are talking about MJ, Coach Grah is in charge of strength and conditioning. I remember when he played back in the day. If he is anything like he was when he played, then the weightroom is intense. Watched the game on tv and was proud of my alma mater for pulling out the W. There has been a lot of turnover with both coaches and players. Looks like the road gets tougher, but am excited about the future of MJ.
  18. The reason Brentwood had so many fans at yals game was because it was their homecoming. I expect this to be a tough region this year. Although, there are a lot of question marks going into fall camp. Such as, SC -will they finally put it together,Portland - will they continue on their successful run as of late, Lebanon- new, disciplined coach at the helm so who knows, WC - has a lot coming back and should be good, MJ - rebuild or reload???, Beech- good athletes, but line? Hendersonville - always disciplined and should have a chip on their shoulder. All in all should be a fun year.
  19. Main reason public schools don't want to play private: RECRUITING!!!!! Has nothing to do with competition
  20. Mt. Juliet and mediocrity do start with the same letter, but are far from the same meaning. Doyle, how do you figure that MJ and mediocrity go together? Can't wait to get and "expert" opinion.
  21. Playing 2A football with some good recruits from Lebanon and MJ. Congrats on your 2A title. 6A football is a little different
  22. So your saying they are the number one team in the state? WOW!!! Very interesting.
  23. You have got to be kidding me with putting Henry County number 1.
