  1. According to the twitter, this game is a shootout right about now.
  2. Last year was just a taste huh? That win tasted REAL good.
  3. We gave up 3 points to DB and 0 points to Morristown West, yes inferior opponents. You guys gave up 22 to William Blount! Another inferior opponent, of course, but whose defense looks better to you you in comparison? If you're honest with yourself, you know the answer.
  4. Heard a rumor West Greene Head Football Coach Joe Case had a bad spell and spent the night in the hospital. If true, I hope he is doing ok and prayers go out to him and his family. Anyone know if this is true or how he is doing? The Buffs play at home tonight as well. Will he be able to be on the sidelines? If not, might be a big blow to the Buffs in a key district game tonight against Claiborne.
  5. I didn't know that either. Great research. Could be interesting to see if the trend continues.
  6. To "some" it's not about athletics, It's about education. If i lived in Baileyton, and I have a kid in school, I'd be sending them to Greeneville instead of North Greene for the academic advantages. Athletics just comes with the territory. Now before you roast me, I know some parents send their kids out of zone just for athletics. However, for me, and for many more, I'd chose Greeneville City Schools over many other districts for the academics.
  7. UT plays ETSU in two weeks though.... it's something we can discuss and compare. UT will thrash ETSU, just like Greeneville will thrash AC. That's the comparison he was making.
  8. Simply marvelous. That should be in a museum Batman!
  9. If we are talking schedules, so far: I would say that DB would beat both Knox Carter and William Blount pretty easily. I would also take West over Carter anyday. West vs. Blount might be a good game this year, but I'd still put my money on West.
  10. I think all of us Greeneville people would agree with you Batman. Just had to defend Ballard when he wasn't mentioned as the best QB in 4A.
  11. I'm not debating that Martin isn't a great QB, but Ballard was Mr. Football for a reason. He was the best each and every single week. I guess we will see who gets that honor this year as well, and that can be a debate for another day.
  12. Was Martin or Ballard named Mr. Football last year? And as for being mediocre, that's just a bad statement. They may not be state championship worthy next year but they're returning some studs next season and the Freshmen class has some athletes. After one year in the weight room and with the coaching staff, they'll improve so much where at other schools they wouldn't because of the staff. They should definitely be state quarterfinal, semifinal worthy and most programs in Tennessee would call that a successful year. But I guess you're right, that is mediocre for Greeneville.
  13. I'm really interested in this game. Chuckey Doak has started off pretty well and could be fighting to win their district this year but should have a tough test this week on the road. Johnson County went 10-0 last season and swept the district, but lost a close one to Hampton last week. That makes me think they're not as strong and could be beatable. Any thoughts?
  14. If you guys gave up 20 points to William Blount, your defense isn't strong enough to stop Greeneville's offensive attack. You better be ready to score more than 33 points to win. And that will be against a defense that has given up only 3 points this year, to two 6A teams.

  17. Haha! I wondered if anyone would bring that up. The Band Perry is singing the Alma Matter too! "GHS Raise... well you know!"
  18. West Greene turned the ball over twice inside the 5 yard line. There's your two possession game. Buffs had twice the yards as the Panthers. Just couldn't overcome the turnovers, if they do that this Friday it's a different ballgame.
  19. I understand that, and that is talking football. But let's keep it at that on this one. Losing Morgan will be a key loss for the Buffs. But they still have Padgett and a few other young players that have stepped up throughout the year. Any key injuries for the Panthers? I know Graff is usually the only poster from up that way. Hope he gets on here to shed some light.
  20. Don't know much about Gibbs other than their scores through the season. I wish Greeneville the best of luck on their quest for another Gold Ball. From the sound of this thread, this game is just a speed bump. Fulton will be the first big hill.
  21. I started reading the last thread that was created for this game and wow! It was pathetic. I'd like to talk about the actual game on this thread. You can save the childish conversation for the other one. I think the Buffs have improved tremendously since the last times these two teams met. Some of their young players have gotten more expirience over the last few weeks and this team has grown. That being said, turnovers have killed the Buffs, especially in the 20-6 loss earlier agoinst the Panthers. I think this game will be a squeaker, with the team making the fewest mistakes winning this one. Toss a coin cause that's the way it will end.
