  1. 2P I am afraid you are way off on this statement. I don't know McDaniel or Aydelott. Both appear to have good programs. All I was stating is what I heard. I stick by my prediction however, Oakland does not have the horses this year to stick with the big boys. BHS 42 -28, SMyrna 52 -22. Just stating the facts. So before you Oakland fans jump all over me, I am saying this year only. For all I know you may win the state next year, but as for this year.......I see you ending up the regular season 6-4.
  2. Saw in the paper (DNJ) where Aydelott stated Oakland would be playing for pride. Sounds like he saw the Smyrna game. Aydelott appears to believe this will be a "laugher" by the 2nd quarter. I have a friend who knows Aydelott who told me that Aydelott had said in front of him that he can't wait to run up the score on McDaniel. My prediction is RHS 42 and OHS 6.
  3. Congrats to Memphis Central for winning the gold ball. Riverdale, you had more talent than last year, yet you did not have the work ethic and discipline. State Championship are not given they are earned. To Much which is given, much is expected. I am not sure that many of the players on this team could have played for Micheal Burt, but those who did would have been more disciplined.
  4. Me thinks Aydelott will understand that he isn't opening up with Antioch anymore when St X puts the beat down on the Warriors.
  5. Way to go Blackman. Outstanding team effort.
  6. Congratulations to the Woolverines for their win over Riverdale. Anytime you can beat Riverdale it is a good day.
  7. You can bet coach Dotson had his team ready......ha!ha!
  8. As much as I would like to see Blackman challenge Riverdale....it will not happen. I do beieve, however, that although Riverdale is talented enough to win the state, they do not to appear to have the work ethic. This is not a Maxwell coached team, much less a Burt coached team. They are much more talented, yet lacking the intangible.
  9. Kinda of like you guys getting scared of Lavergne during the 2nd half? Although I don't necesarily agree with the strategy, it is a strategy. Those who live in glass houses should be careful of casting stones.
  10. Both teams are very talented, however I would have to give Smyrna the advantage with overall talent at the skill positions. It is going to be a very close game, and I believe that turnovers will decide the outcome. McDaniel has been at Oakland for almost 3 years, and he has won 32 out of 36 games. I sure wish we could have found someone much better to be our head coach.....lol.....Go Patriots......Go Oakand Football coaches. You guys are the best that have ever been at Oakland hands down. If you plan to go to the game you better get there early, because Smyrna fans will come out in droves.
  11. 2P I understand that you may have given much to Oakland football, but "the marty's army" days are over. It was a great time during 1998 and 1999, but those days are over. You know there were a lot of things that Euverard did or did not do that could be called into question, but there was no doubt that he did have a good begining of his coaching career at Oakland. You might say that Oakland and Euverard were a perfect match. He had been very unsuccessful and fired at Clarksville, and Oakland has sunken the depths of despair. He gave everyone a reason to believe in Frday nights.
  12. Agree, if players show classless acts, they should be disciplined.
  13. I think if you would take time to read my message you will see that I at no time believe in players, fans, or coaches acting in a classless manner. As for your rignt to degrade the Oakland coaching staff, you have no right. If you have a problem with this staff, be man enough to say something to them in person. This staff is the best thing that has occured with Oakland football in quite some time. They have pride, class, and a passion for what they do.
  14. First let me congratulate Blackman for their tremendous effort in the win. Quarterback Strickland made some outstanding plays in the clutch. Now let me address Mr. 2P, sir you are showing your jelousy when you accuse anyone from Oakland teaching poor sportmanship. If this did occur, I can assure it should and will be addressed. For you to accuse the Oakland staff of sanctioning such behavior is a travesty. You appear to have an axe to grind with McDaniel due to the fact a needed coaching change was made at Oakland. Let me say that it was a change that was much needed. Times have changed, and coaches change. This is not the same Oakland that existed years ago. If you are so concerned about the direction of the Oakland football progam, how about being man enough to speak with McDaniel in person. You continually throw in the Riverdale card when you get to a chance. Are you still angry over all the times Rankin beat Oakland? Let's be honest, if you look at the win/loss records between the two schools it is overwhelmingly in Riverdale's favor. I am going to be the first one to tell you that most of the time on here you do make a point, but this time I am calling you out for what I see is uncalled criticism. If you no longer support Oakland football that is fine, but don't paint an unfair picture with a wide stroke. Once again I would like to congratulate coach Shadowens and the Blackman Blaze players for an outstanding performance. Good luck for the remainder of the year.
  15. You sir are a joke. How about laying off kids and schools on here. I pitty you that you have such low self esteem that you have to attack others.
  16. I am not sure what upsets you that McDaniel has a passion for winning, but before he leaves Oakland he will go down as the most successful football coach in the history of Oakland High School. If that upsets anyone, so be it. There are too many of you on here that want to live in the past. Rankin is no longer on the sideline at Riverdale, and Marty Euverard is no longer at Oakland. Not sure why Euverard and Rankin would be mentioned in the same sentence, but had to be said.
  17. Are you joking? McDaniel is a winner. Just because he has a passion for the game this makes him Napoleon? I will tell you one thing. He cares enough about his kids that he keeps up with them no matter what sport they are involved. How many basketball games have you seen Aydelott attend. He is a joke!
  18. You guys don't give Shadowens enough credit. I think it will read "We Believe". What a joke!
  19. Wow we are supposed to be impressed by a summer league scrimmage? Who cares where "corn" will be playing next year. The Ensworth crowd is about like the Roman Empire. You guys get the best gladiators to entertain you each year.
  20. Riverdale's past football success prior to Rankin can be summed up as being slightly above average. I must agree with LOD......Aydelott has not been a good fit. He should have won the state in 2007 and 2008 with what Rankin had developed. What does Aydelott do????? He gets beaten by Smyrna a team he had blown out two weeks earlier by 49 points, and in 2008 he gets blown out by Wilson Central a team he had thouroughly beaten two weeks earlier.
  21. Isn't Terry Teetolar the guy who used to coach with Eatalot at Riverdale?
  22. Been told by someone who is in the know at SHS that is going to be "the man, the myth, the legend that is Michael Burt who is going to be named the next head coach.
  23. I still say it is the man, the myth, the legend that is Michael J. Burt. They will be hanging more banners in that gym if he accepts this position.
  24. I am hearing the Michael Burt is returning to high school basketball. It has been overheard by some that Shelbyville is his dream job.
