  1. From the perspective of a fan of the game, no one school, I will give my thoughts on CDHS boys team this year... 1-They have no real leader on the team. This hurts them in more ways than can I say. 2-The attitude of several of the younger kids who play is awful. They need to take responsibility for their actions and work on their game instead of making excuses and whining about every little thing. 3-The kid from Germany is a great ball player. He should be utilized much more, along with Juice-he is hard to stop down low. 4-the coach realizes he doesn't have what it takes to be great, so he appears to be focusing on getting better for the next couple years as these players grow and mature. He has some talent, and he will get the most out of it in the long run....so be patient and don't hate so much. Just my opinion.
  2. Well said...that's why we play the games!!! I'm not a fan of any one particular team...I just hope to see some great games
  3. I will admit that I haven't seen clarksville play this year, but I have seen many of the teams on that list and in my opinion...SHHS is the best team in the state this year and most likely next year also. Clarksville vs SHHS would no doubt be a great game, and clarksville may win-but I would still stake my money on the lady toppers as they appear to be the total package in every game I have seen them play. Mt Juliet is strong again this year, and the Williams girl will be tough to stop...they are always a force to be reckoned with. Morristown East is better than they have been in years, maybe ever, but still not on the same level as the teams mentioned above...most likely including clarksville.... The only way to know is to play the games...and I am thoroughly looking forward to watching them!
  4. Why do u post this same thing over and over...it is really quite annoying
  5. If my memory serves me, u are correct...and they were always great ballgames. Miss those days as a matter of fact
  6. And if SHHS got hosed by the refs when they lost to the devils...does that mean GHS got hosed the 40-somethin times they lost to SHHS the past 40-somethin times they have played? Geez, take ur losses and improve on them...it happens to everybody. Excuses are like butts, everybody has one and they all stink.
  7. Come on now barb, you KNOW it HAD to be the refs screwing them over! It couldn't have been a few missed lay ups, missed free throws, or turn overs that directly led to GHS points! I mean, it was a whopping ONE point defeat...it had to be somebody else's fault!!!! Lol And for the record to everyone out there, I am not a fan of any one school....just a fan of basketball in general...
  8. Whoever told you that version of the story lied to you. SHHS got the ball after the Tech free throws. Bottom line in this game, GHS played as well as they have all season and SHHS struggled compared to how they have played lately...combine those 2 and the Greene devils take the win, and deservedly so in my opinion... Sometimes the breaks don't go your way and the baskets just aren't falling for you, that's just part of the game.
  9. Top teams in district tournament go to region, top 2 in region play substate-winner of region at home, loser of region on the road. The winners of the substate games go to the state tournament.
  10. I was told this was a fun game to watch, hard fought both ways and exciting-back and forth kinda game.... And then heard the boys game was uuugggly and foul filled.... Would have enjoyed being there I am sure
  11. I don't follow PA basketball, but I will offer my feedback on your article. In my opinion, you should take another look and edit starting from the paragraph about 3 point shots through the end of the article. I noticed several grammatical errors and the way it is written seems scattered and repetitive in places. Aside from that, the information contained seems to be ok. Hope that helps.
  12. I am quite curious as to which officials are calling 3-4 Ts a night...or telling others to go to YouTube and watch them stick a coach... Please, elaborate more Carolina
  13. I don't kbow that they completely stopped it as much as the 3 ball just wasn't going in like it normally does. Without shooting the 3 as well, mentor did great to keep it as close as they did and really showed that they are a legit team. Live by the 3 and die by the 3, when they go in it will be nearly impossible to beat them, but when they aren't falling-anything can happen
  14. And helped to write the modern day rule book I might add
  15. Just curious, which supervisor are you talking about? Because Ralph Stout was a great referee...one who worked the major div 1 college ball...
  16. How does anything that I said in that post lead you to believe I am a ref? I have many friends who are officials, but as for me personally-no I'm not a ref.
  17. Let me be the first to congratulate the science hill lady hilltoppers on their ladies classic championship... Also, gotta give mt Juliet credit, they were a worthy opponent.
  18. The CPA vs Urspring was probably one of the best games I have seen at the Arbys in several years. Both teams seemed to be pretty equal talent wise and both sides appear to be well coached. It was a game that truly could have gone either way, but in the end I believe the slightly better team won the game... I'm def looking forward to the semi-finals tonight, they should be some very competitive games. Once again, the Arbys has been a great tournament and has brought some top notch teams to the area for us to enjoy.
  19. Most the officials in the Arbys classic are college referees, and I have been up there 2 days and can say this-they are doing a good job. I have also watched some of the ladies classic, which is officiated by a diff association, and the refs there have been less than impressive. Some good, some bad...but at least from what I have seen they are consistent...
  20. Great day of ball today. I was very impressed with CPA and Christ School...they both looked top notch. Gotta congratulate DB as well on a huge win tonight over Irmo, SC...They had a great showing tonight. Looking forward to the next few days!!!!
  21. Yes, SHHS is def one of the best teams in the area this year, and will be again next year as well. I have seen them play several times this year and they are just a very sound team all the way around and they are extremely well coached. When you take a team that has that much talent on their roster and combine it with good coaching...the sky is the limit. The game I want to see next is SHHS taking on Mt Juliet...should be a dandy!
  22. Wilson Central big over Cocke Co Mt Juliet big over Morristown East CAK over Chuckey Doak (OT by 1) Science hill over Bob Jones (by 3) SHHS vs Bob Jones was probably one of the best girls bball games I have seen in a LONG time...
  23. Not saying you don't have a valid point, BUT.... How can you bust on him for not doing research and then in the very next sentence state you don't know the names of all the players you think should be included? Seems you should do some research as well.
  24. Let me guess.....your team lost right? U are pathetic, stop making excuses and just say "we could have played better"...MOST officials could care less who wins or loses, there are exceptions to that rule but I doubt u got 3 or even 2 refs who would fit in that category tonight
  25. Kid is the real deal as far sa kickers go...to the best of my knowledge, he has only had 1, yes ONE, kickoff NOT go into the endzone...that is impressive. Against alcoa he actually kicked 2 of his kickoffs through the uprights lol...
