Your excuse for losing because of players going to city schools is getting old. A huge problem for WB is when you have 30, maybe more maybe less (who cares), that don't show up for a football game. That has nothing to do with one or two kids that might get to play a couple minutes a year after deciding to go to Maryville or Alcoa. I would almost bet the bank that GQ or Rankin could take the exact players at WB and make winners of them. Then, you fans wouldn't have to worry about losing players. It starts with your feeder program. What do you think that stud at the middle school is gonna think when he hits the high school level? He already has been labeled a champion, when in fact he has no idea what's around the corner because his coach refuses to play the best team in the area within 5 miles of the school. I wish the kid the best, but he's in for a rude awakening....
With that being said, you can also enjoy the few city players on your team. There are players that actually transfer to the county schools. I could name several who grew up in the Alcoa system but ended up at WB or Heritage, but I won't because I have a feeling you know the ones I'm talking about.
Good luck to the Govs! ðŸ‘ðŸ»
