I personally think Megan Prince has to be in the top 5. If she is headed to Kentucky evidently she has the right stuff. Richland will not make it to the state in A ball. To many strong TEAMS in them 2 regions!

Will Cornersville be back. I know they lost a pitcher. What else did they lose and what do they have returning? They seem to always find a way to get there and are almost always a threat. Will losing coach Mitchell be a factor?

An era came to an end at Cornersville High School on Monday night when longtime softball coach Spencer Mitchell announced his retirement from coaching during the team's awards banquet at Cornersville Methodist Church. http://www.marshalltribune.com/story/1738920.html Mitchell experienced his greatest success at the tail end of his coaching career, as the Lady Bulldogs qualified for the Class A State Tournament three times (2008, 2009, and 2011) in the last four years while finishing third in the tourney each time.

Looks as though Cornersville's plan of making their defense work all season is working. The defense was stellar last night against Richland. Just right off the top of my head there was 10 or 12 balls hit to the infield and not one error.

I dont recall posts being on here like this when Richland beat Cornersville. Guess Cornersville could recruit travel girls and travel coaches to be on the feild like Richland does. The mud can go both ways man be a little more classy. I was actually on the Richland side and I herd half the crowd acting like coaches on both sides. I dont recall hearing it over the intercom. Last night was a great game between two great teams. If it possible I see that both of these teams could end up at the DANCE no matter who wins the district. Make district 11A proud and hope both teams do good.

Watched a few games this weekend at the park. Went to see Cornersville's Ace pitcher and she never threw a pitch against Beech or OOltewah. Watched a little bit of the Beech game and the little pitcher from Cornersville had Beech beat until the last few minutes of the game. The game against OOltewah she had them held to 2 runs through six innings. Was told by a parent she was a freshman and that they only had two seniors on the team. This little girl looked good. Haven't seen her around. Anyone know who she is?

A healthy pitcher could have 15 to 21 strikeouts in a game. Its hard to lose when that happens. Guess whoever hits the ball the best will win.

Still leaning towards the north. They have been working hard this year. Alot of practice. Practice makes perfect.

Guess right now it depends on who has the healthiest pitcher. Looks as though it is leaning towards the north. Forrest may have the only healthy pitcher in Marshall County.

11 strikeouts in 4 innings 1 hit. Cornersville's defense will have to be tight come tournament time. There defense don't get any work with 11 strikeouts in 4 innings. Yes,they do need to hit the ball too. That will come they are loaded with good hitters.

Cornersville does have players hurt. I know Hopkins broke a wrist. She is a standout that they are missing. If I do my math correctly she will be back soon. Could Cornersville be playing a cat and mouse game with everyone. They pitched there freshman tonight in a district game. Huh! They pull there senior after 3 innings at Friendship and she hits a homerun in the seventh. Huh! I guess we will find out when it counts.

Whats going on in Cornersville? I know they lost the Nelms girl but they still have several girls left from the past couple of years. Is everyone else catching up to them?

Exactly Escape, alot of coaches are handed great players and then they are called a great coach. LOL! A good coach doesn't have a good feeder program and can still find a way to win game after game. Great feeder programs are like gold to any coach. It makes them look good.

First off I dont think any team has beat cornersville bad this year! Look at the scores. When this is updated next week. Becky and her "whinning" ways got beat twice at home by both Marshall County teams in the Marshall County Match Up! So NOITALL will have to back up on the comments he made.

Anyone around the travell ball community knows all about Laweranceburg. Seen several of these girls for years now.

This will change next week. Marshall County gets beat by Lewis county and Lewis county is nowhere on the list. Is the Basketball team that went to the state looking to do the same in softball? Huh food for thaught. Lewis Counties schedule wins/lose looks pretty good right now.

It will all depend on how cornersville uses the talent they got! They have it. It is there!

Amen! If the freshman are better players I hate it for the older ones. But like you said at the end of the season you throw your bag down and it collects dust until your high school coach decides he wants to practice. When other girls are out there playing travel ball getting better then they deserve to play. Travel girls will play 6 sometimes 8 games in one weekend. They get so much experience at these tournaments.
