At least he didn't get called for stalling there. Number of shots isn't in there, but being offensive is. Ryan kid was attacking and working for the takedown, Mc was sprawling and blocking. This has nothing to do with the McCallie wrestler. He seems like a good solid kid and a heck of a wrestler. Anytime you win a state championship you deserve it, and he most certainly does.

YOU are wrong. Couple of things. If the McCallie wrestler had shot 3 times in the last 40 sec and the FR wrestler had sprawled and held the ankle, do you not think the FR wrestler would be hit with stalling? And excellent official? That's not what I heard from 2 of a group of 3 officials after the match. "He always injects himself into the match if possible" "Doesn't surprise me at all that he would make that call, in a close match he wants to be seen" "Unbelievable" "a shame" "he got what he wanted" and this from fellow officials! 9 seconds left. Then the FR wrestler shoots in ot and again Mc sprawls. I shot and maybe 15 front headlocks from McCallie. I'm sure they are both great kids and can handle the decision, but ballsy isn't the term I would use for that call. And I didn't think I'd see a worse call than Bellet's at the 138 semi's, but there you go.

As long as the TSSAA (TMSSA) is involved, you will never get it done. For the most part, middle school wrestling teams (not individuals) in TN are a joke compared to wrestling states middle school teams.

Understood, but the board has to know all of this is out there, I mean it was on the 5 0'clock news. Do something! Fire the coach, fire the coach and AD, fire the coach and AD and headmaster....or come out and say you support them and they are staying. But don't let this continue to drag on. Well, it is perhaps a stupid rule, but it is a rule. I know 2 years ago 6th place was empty (maybe 119 or 125 dII) because a wrestler didn't make weight. I'm not sure if it affected him the next year in seedings if he was an underclassman, but the potential is there. Work to change the rule but until then, you sort of have to enforce it. Or let us know what other stupid rules you think we should ignore (and I'm sure there is a list I would agree with). But I do agree, the cow's out of the barn. Wouldn't want to call him up and ask for the medal back.

Plus a host of UTC guys (not sure TNKO2 would consider them Tennessee wrestlers) and maybe one or two I can't recall. But that's a pretty stout group there.

I never saw McTorry on the mat, maybe he was to busy with the mma stuff, but with 6 wrestlers on the team and NO placer...in D2...Come on. I don't care who your coach is, the wrestling team is an embarrassment. So 14 guys playing bad hockey and what, 20 or so on the b-ball team (sweet win tonight, Corn is a stud) and you can't find more than a handful of boys to wrestle. Sad.

Can Ricky coach wrestling next year? Please do something about the wrestling team, it's embarrassing. With the only winter sport competing being basketball, surely you can fine some bodies to coach up and put on the mat.

Akers discipline to stay at 103 this year was incredible. Few in D2 this past summer projected a Father Ryan state championship at 103. Team Score: D1 3 D2 0 Finally saw a head to head between these two New Years eve over at MBA. Akers won in OT.

How did the Tennessee guys that went to Dixie do? Anybody know? Did the two dual teams record any wins? Any individual placers?
