  1. There is a meeting scheduled today at 1 PM at the high school for the girls to meet Coach Gorman.

  3. It was an entertaining game with HV scoring first and OR leveling not long after. It went that way through 3-3 with OR taking the lead with about 4 minutes to go. To HV's credit they did not quit and on an excellent shot by #11 (Skoda?) HV tied the game 4 minutes into stoppage time. The game was marred by some inconsistent calls going both ways that broke down the flow of the game but obviously it did not stop either team from scoring enough goals to win the game. HV was constantly on the attack early but OR scrambled throughout scoring on a PK and a corner to keep the game either tied or to go in front. An entertaining game that ended with both sides knowing they should have won.
  4. Obviously you have not had the jambalya, shrimp and grits or chili night at the Oak Ridge girls games. By far the best concessions around. Obviously I am biased.
  5. Is that you Chris? I can verify that the team will be disciplined and prepared with Coach Woods
  6. Here is the Knoxville News Sentinel article link http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/dec/0 ... cer-coach/ Here is the link to the article on Coach Day being hired as the boys coach. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2010/jan/2 ... ge-soccer/ OJ had both the boys and girls program at Oak Ridge.
  7. I sent you an e mail with his contact information. Soccercatdad, I am glad that the reception went well. I talked to Jon today, and he is very excited to be there, and ready to get things going! We (the girls program) hope that Coach Mullins (OR Athletic Director) is able to repeat the selection process if we are to get a new coach as well. He certainly did an outstanding job with Coach Day. We will see how this progresses.
  8. I can be the contact for the girls program (Katie Hunter tournament). I will get you the contact or at least some information on Barry Redmond. I have sent your email to the President of the Boy's boosters. Keep in mind that they just introduced Coach Day to the boys and parents yesterday. I am sure that he is drinking from a fire hose at this point. The reception was crowded. Impressive young man, I can see why Big G was conflicted on his departure.
  9. Akula, you are correct in that the tradition is huge. The girls boosters are planning the 14th Katie Hunter and with the support of the coaches that have attended in the past we will hold it this coming fall (labor day weekend is our traditional date). I am sure that coach Day will settle in very quickly and the boys program will make a quick decision on Barry Redmond.
