  1. Just got back in from a beating in Humboldt. I have been following Greenfield for several years....I can't even remember the last time we had a season with single digit wins....does anyone on here know? Humboldt couldn't buy a three and that Greenfield coach stayed in a man defense---- now that's a "Moron" Congrats to Humboldt, you should go far. Don't fear, you get to schlack us again next year two or three times. Glad we could provide some practice for you tonight.
  2. #4 in the State polls this week???? Schedule toughness- 84 out of 108 Outside of Greenfileld/Bradford----who have they played? Now this is a sad example of reputation votes or school name only votes. They should win their district (which could be won by some good big city jr high leagues) and they will be eliminated 1st game of region tourney. This is just an illustration of name sake only voting for ranking purposes.
  3. Class AAA Record Pts Prv 1. Ridgeway (15) 20-0 192 3 2. White Station (2) 18-3 157 4 3. Memphis Central (1) 19-3 126 6 T4. Melrose 21-3 125 1 T4. Bearden (2) 21-1 125 2 T6. Nashville Overton 23-2 76 7 T6. Southwind 20-3 76 5 8. Clarksville NE 18-2 69 8 9. Dyer County 21-3 30 9 10. Beech 22-3 25 The top 5 teams in the State of Tennessee are in Memphis this year (all classifications). Why is it every year there is a Bearden or Dyer County in there?? Is this charity or is it just the voters don't know about the top teams in the West?? The State Tourney will mainly be played in the Region tournaments---another let down, but a fun practice at state is in session again this year for the Memphis teams, it looks like.
  4. Ask some of the Lake County people...seems like they are getting tossed every year (at least 3 times this year)
  5. The win over Greenfield doesn't say a lot about the SF team.
  6. I would say a coin flip most likely
  7. On any given night........I hope you get drawn for the LC side of the district...it could be a rough ride I meant to say I hope you DON'T get drawn for the LC side. LC is the favorite from this Region...the 2nd best team is yet to be determined. Gleason will probably fall early due to their regular season schedule..once region play begins. The 3 of the top 4 teams in the region are in 14A---the 4th team and the Gleason team are a toss up.
  8. I'll take that 35 given up on defense every day of the week and twice on Sunday .... If you had been there you'd know what I'm talking about. The problem with this team is they can't finish at the rim like last years team. Too many missed lay ups and gimme's....just piss poor shooting. I understand it's hard to get up for Bradford but this has been a problem for the last 4 games or so....like I say they need to find thier offense pretty quick. Humboldt will not hold LC or UC to 35! We'll see in a week or so.... Last year they played to knock you out early---fast, physical and finishing shots-----they appear to be a little more laid back this year and even confused at times. They have tremendous size compared to the other teams in this district, but the chemistry is not there yet. Where is the swagger? lol
  9. GC....Have you been following McMillan at UTM ?? They just beat Austin Peay for the first back-to-back wins since the 06-07 season....They have tripled their win total from last year overall (6-15) and they have won 4x's as many conference games (4-7)... He is basically doing this with walk-ons...LaBrica Ward from UC has had two 23 point games and had 18 in the win over AP....He is going to win at UTM and I don't doubt win alot... Wait til next year...what about the signing day....did you see the locals he has coming, not to mention the all americans from Florida!!! 2 years---big dance??
  10. On any given night........I hope you get drawn for the LC side of the district...it could be a rough ride
  11. I think Gleason has a chance to beat a 4 seed from 14. Our tops will be Lake County, Greenfield, Humboldt and ??...u never know.
  12. Your post is correct..they have lost some close games, but on the other foot--they have won 2-3 games by 4 or less...your team could easily only have 5 wins...I don't know what is happening at Greenfield--(boys)...but it looks like it has been on a steady decline the last 3 or 4 years...they used to have extremely fast players, quick big men, good role players....kind of sad for a town with rich tradition. What is the jr high looking like? Are you guys going to get any help in the next few years? I didn't follow it much this year, but last year your Jr High was pretty good. I knew they beat Medina and took Trenton Middle to the end. Any of those young men going to help you maybe next year?
