  1. To daroundball....Here is an explanation for the reserved seating. (It was not for 3/4 of your seating that was stretch way far)If you noticed it was adults sitting in those seats. This was started a couple of years ago for the first 3 rows behind our team and scorekeeper. The reason this was done was to keep the opponents from the torment that they had been putting our teams through with the smack talking behind their backs. It was not done to keep Bradford folks from having a seat. All Bradford fans had a seat. Several, several SH fans did not. Yes SH had fans setting on the isles also where I was seated. We seated as many as we could for a Single A school gym. I am a SH fan and I entered into the same door as the Bradford fans did. There was only a few students that went in the side door. They were not going to sit on Bradford's side anyway. They went straight to our student section. Once again, there was enough seating for all those that braved the wind and cold weather and stood in the same line together shortly before 5:30.
  2. I was at the game tonight. Yes, I am a Scotts Hill fan. I was in the 530 PM line tonight. By the time I got through the line and into the gym the home side was full. We would not have sat on the other side if we had enough seating. As for those being let in the side door...they were some students...I witnessed maybe 20 going in the side to help shorten the line. These students were going to sit in the student section anyway. However, I don't believe any Bradford fans had to stand up tonight. I saw several SH fans standing up though. As for our kids turning the back on Bradford's girls when the lineup was called out...we have learned from the best of our opponents. We have been treated the same way in the past...It's nothing against Bradford. What is wrong with the teenagers having some good clean fun. As I have always said, they could have been somewhere else partying but chose the ballgame. Bradford your girls played a great game. They should be very proud!
  3. Good luck Humboldt from a Scotts Hill High School player's mom. My son thinks alot of you guys. He will be at the state tournament rooting you on.
  4. Best of luck, Westwood! From a Scotts Hill High School mom. My son said that you guys are a classy group of guys whom did not talk smack on the court. Enjoy your time at the state tournament.
  5. I don't know anything about City University this year. However, Scotts Hill beat them last year in the Region. I don't recall the score. I am rooting for the Lions all the way. Some of these boys won a Little League state championship together just a few short years ago. Another state championship would ice the cake!!! Go Lions & Lady Lions!
  6. O.k. This is my last reply but I must defend our team again. Yes, you are correct that not all of the players live at "Scotts Hill." What is the population of "Scotts Hill?" The "Parkers Crossroads" player that you are refering to has a Lexington address. As far as the white issue, you need to remember what elemetary school he came out of. I really don't believe Scotts Hill is a lily white school. Like you stated, Henderson County has an open enrollment policy. However, you don't know all of the reasons that some classy students chose to go to Scotts Hill. You need to know the real reasons before you jump to conclusions. These kids have not cost the taxpayers any money. They don't ride a school bus and have never road a school bus to Scotts Hill. If you really research the school enrollment situation, you will see that all counties receive students from all around. I know for a fact that Hardin County & Selmer kids go to Adamsville, Lexington kids go to Clarksburg, Scotts Hill, Trinity, Jackson Christian, USJ & Riverside. This issue could go on and on and on. In closing, all I want to say is thankyou Scotts Hill boys and girls for a great season. You take all the days troubles away for a little while and put a little spark back into the "Hill." Go Lions!!!
  7. Who won the Adamsville boys game last night?
  8. I know that the Scotts Hill fans are loud. I am one of them. What does it hurt to stand in the bleachers and make some noise for our hometown heroes. Does this not add to the excitement for our teams. They play sharper when we play with them. So what if it has been a while since we have been on top. I'm not saying that we will win the state but we are finally getting some recognition. Our players are a classy bunch of young men and women whom I would take any day over a cocky team. (even if they had a loosing season) Winning is not everything. Scotts Hill not being ranked in the state is a minor thing. There are lots of Single A teams that are not ranked that deserve to be ranked. There is just not enough room for rankings. However, I would like know which opponents on Adamsville's schedule would rate them higher than Scotts Hill on the state poll. I have the copy of their schedule. They played most of the same schools that Scotts Hill did. Adamsville's losses were to Scotts Hill, Middleton, Clarksburg & Colierville with a record of (6-16). No offense to these 3 schools but we played 2 of these schools also. Middleton did have somewhat of a tougher schedule facing South Side & JCM. They are well deserving being ranked in the top 10 state poll. Now, I'm changing the subject. Where has all the fair referees gone? I haven't seen very many in West Tennessee this season.
  9. I agree strongly with you on it has taken alot to gain respect at Scotts Hill. Just because the boys are white doesn't mean that they are prejudice. The school is the top notch high school in Henderson County. Just because these kids choose to go there they should not be called thugs. I have the video of the handshakes at the Adamsville game. I beg to differ with your observation. One observation was of Adamsville's #44 leaving the bench and headed to the locker room right before the buzzer. He didn't shake anybody's hand.
  10. I have to disagree..They have been some of the best boys we have played against..They are great athletes and great kids.. Thanks for the disagreement. Yes they are great athletes and great kids. I would like to say that my son is far from a thug. The webster dictionary defines thug as a rough, violent criminal. Good luck to your school also. You sound like a swell person.
  11. The adult witness had business where she was. It was a good thing she was where she had permission to be. She was our witness in the situation with our boys. Yes, our boys were called a few choice names by an authority figure. On your injured player, those around me were not snickering. We truly hate that he was injured.
  12. I am a Scotts Hill High School basketball parent. I apologize if our fans acted inapproriate. However, I was in the crowd last night and did not observe this. We do love our teams and sometimes get very emotional during the moment. You have to admit that the whole gym was very emotional last night with the tightness of both of the games. I really don't know if you are aware of this or not, but when Adamsville played Scotts Hill at Scotts Hill there was some commotion going into the locker rooms after the boys game. The Adamsville coach was not very classy or professional at this time. We do have an adult witness to this or I would not be saying this. Lets just always remember that it is just a game. There are other things in life that we should place more emphasis on. Go Lions!
