  1. Just curious, why do you think BHS will have such a large advantage over Columbia?
  2. Kinda curious to see what potential matchups will be in the postseason in the DOD. Anybody have like a previous year's bracket with seeding they'd like to share? Or just a wordy description works too, although pictures are easier to read.
  3. Yep that's the final. Connor McCarty with the game winner in the second half on a bouncy cross that McCallie defenders couldn't clear. I believe BHS's second goal was a direct free kick too.
  4. My bad, you're right. Sorry Bill, haha I do agree that I am a bit harsh. And yes, I agree Ravenwood should be in the rankings, last I heard they lost bad to Brentwood, but it was the first of their season.
  5. This "Bill McCloskey" for some reason updated the rankings with Maryville still at #1, with Christian Brothers at 2, and then Bearden at #3. Heck, Brentwood is at 6 and Hardin Valley is at 9...Bill McCloskey, you have some work to do. Here's my rankings (no disrespect to Maryville, but they should not be number 1 when three teams have defeated them this year and there are several undefeated teams in the same class, AAA) 1) Bearden (undefeated in AAA, and also defeated Bill McCloskey's #1 team Maryville 3-0) 2) Brentwood (undefeated in AAA) 3) Hardin Valley (Also undefeated in AAA, and also defeated Bill McCloskey's #1 team Maryville 2-1, yet happens to be ranked lower than them. They have a few ties more than Brentwood) 4) Hendersonville 5) ECS 6) Maryville 7) McCallie Bill McCloskey, I have you copied and pasted, hence my excess use of your first and last name...but if you see this please change the rankings a bit. At least the top three to the aforementioned teams. Edit: Or just take a look at ESPN FAB 50 rankings or Nscaa http://rise.espn.go.com/boys-soccer/team-rankings/spring-2011-rankings/Spring-2011.aspx?pursuit=BoysSoccer http://www.nscaa.com/hsRes.php?it=2467
  6. Very well said, dins8.
  7. Maryville's defense couldn't contain Bearden's forwards. Most goals came from chaos in Maryville's box, Bearden's specialty. Maryville possessed much longer, but the game isn't won on how long you hold the ball. Bearden's defense was spectacular as well; they did a great job of containing Maryville's potent offense. Although possession was in Maryville's favor, the shot count wasn't. If I remeber correctly it was like (shots/on goal) 21/11 BHS to 15/8 MHS. I must admit Maryville was excellent at passing. It seemed like all they practice is possession (I believe I never saw MHS's defense actually clear the ball, they just passed it), and it's worked off for them against opponents that also like to possess/pass, Bearden just isn't one of those teams.\ http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2011/apr/18/conner-mccarty-stars-bearden-beats-maryville/
  8. Hendersonville also missed a PK in their 2-0 loss to Bearden. An impressive showing of the BHS defense, perhaps there is a new no. 1 in the state?
  9. Well as a devoted Bearden fan, i'm bound to make excuses. So here they are. Adam Wojnar broke his shoulder in the previous game. Both All-State players and senior captains on Bearden's team were out with injury. (Patrick Harmony and Alex Wilkerson) When Bearden beat Hendersonville in the regular season, Wilkerson was the one that scored.
  10. Farragut's red card is on Cody Newby.
  11. There's two, they switch every other game, unless one of them has a bad warm up.
  12. I feel Bearden can still win this one. Seems HVA is on a roll, but they seem very inconsistent. A loss to Karns... followed by victories over West and being the biggest challenge Farragut had the whole year (aside from the Palmetto Cup matches)...which was followed by a loss to Lenior City. Then a very solid postseason play, but victories over Knox Central, Karns, and Oak Ridge aren't very "real" achievements. The loss to Farragut is really the biggest chip, but the loss against Lenior City slowed the roll they were on. I know alot of HVA fans say ".....we've outscored opponents in postseason play 18-2..." but like I said Central, Karns, and Oak Ridge isn't much to brag about. Good luck to both teams, and no offense intended to Central, Karns, and Oak Ridge.
  13. No the starting keeper dislocated his shoulder during warmups, and in the second half one of the star defenders fractured his foot.
