  1. Turtle you need to get your head outta your shell or whatever orifice you have it stuck in. I AM NOT a Gibbs supporter, just someone that is VERY happy to see some of the Knoxville area "super teams" start to realize they aren't the supermen they thought they were. That it eventually takes a lot of hard work & you can't always just out talent everyone. With that said respond with your wittiest if you want. I'm done with this topic. Hope everyone stays healthy the rest of the way
  2. I thought since this is a topic about GIBBS & FULTON you would understand I was referring to Fulton. Not everyone's world revolves around AE. As for your haha comment you can keep it, I could care less if Gibbs wins 1 or 10 this year. And as for the "Gibbs is a nobody" comment with 4 losses & 3 losses respectively Fulton & AE are rapidly joining the "nobody" list themselves. Ahh the good ole days of the "super region" are gone now aren't they?
  3. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT I was talking about FULTON that at the time was 2 - 4. this is a Gibbs & Fulton topic. Fulton has a black falcon on their helmet just like ATL . . . Hence the dirty bird reference. Guess I'll have to t-y-p-e m-o-r-e s-l-o-w-l-y so you can keep up.
  4. If speed is all you need why are the dirty birds 2 - 4?
  5. I agree with troll, why is this trash pinned?
  6. GP was a top 5 team prior to playing Gibbs.
  7. Tell you what, let's just call it even now. No way I'll stay in the good on that deal especially living under the microscope
  8. Just pay me through the gate next time Alcoa is at home. That & a coke & we'll call it even In all seriousness, I'm just hackin on ya there radio face. No need to get all twisted up. You were just sounding a little ho - hum about "having" to watch another "boring" Alcoa blow out so I just busted your chops a little that's all. Alcoa is a phenomenal program now. You as a supporter should enjoy watching every second of it while it lasts. Granted I can't say it will be in the near future but somday the wax wings are gonna melt. That's the down side to rising so far above everyone else. The fall is inevitable & the pain is that much greater. Let me be clear I'm not predicting or wanting to see an Alcoa collapse , but anyone that's watched high school football very long knows it WILL eventually happen. It just sounded like you were getting bored to tears watching your team do so well that's all. BTW there radio, I gotta give you a point for your post. Your ps was witty & cut me to the bone. Glad a grammar lesson goes for cheaper than a broadcast lesson does. I'm still a little to the good on ya. Thanks for YOU'RE help . . . Dang it , that's not right either is it?
  9. I have watched many blow out games from the winning side. Your not the only person that has had to "tolerate" such an "inconvenience". So your elitist attitude is misplaced toward me. I may not be a faithful Alcoa fan but the team I regularly follow has had it's share of success & they also know how to apply the "mercy" rule in a hurry. One tip to make the game interesting with a big lead. Continue to watch the game & pay attention to specific players & positions. A receiver / corner or an O tackle / DE battle , if it's a good one, is interesting to me no matter the score and if you look there will be a good battle somewhere on the field no matter who is playing who. Then again maybe you would rather cheer Hoorah 'till Alcoa gets up by 30 then sit with your "buddies" sipping tea & eating cucumber finger sandwiches discussing (begin British accent now) the dreadfully intolerable hardships the devout Twister faithful must witness each Friday eve. Disclaimer: it is not the intention of the poster to indicate that all Alcoa fans not affiliated with faceforradio cheer hoorah, sip or like tea, eat cucumber sandwiches, or talk with a British accent. Any assumptions of such an indication by said group is the misinterpretation & sole responsibility of said group. Downanddistance LLC assumes no responsibility for such assumptions or any damages caused by said assumptions or their assumptioners . . . errr or whatever.
  10. Such a cross for you to bear. Having to sit through all those boring second halves. Maybe you should give yourself a break. You know, treat yourself (and the good folks of Scott Co.), to a night off & stay home. By the way, didn't go to high school in Tennessee, so Tennessee's first governors name wasn't that high up on the "need to know" list.
  11. Now that's an answer you can hang your hat on. Side note: Mary Grainger Blount is the name sake for Grainger County, the only county in Tennessee to be named after a women. This could turn into an all out Tennessee history thread if were not careful.
  12. Well as a matter of fact I did not go to Alcoa. Did you know why Scott County was named Scott County before it was posted on here? I know I didn't. Before you ask NO I DIDN'T GO TO SCHOOL THERE EITHER. If you didn't know where did you go to school? Not Scott County I assume. That being said, since you think the world should know, do your duty & enlighten the poor ignorant souls that don't know who Blount is.
  13. BCSF I'm just messin' with you. As for my pick, I'd have to go with Rogan. Explosive on O and the D to match.
  14. District game, neither side has a choice on playing or not.
  15. I need a little more information before I can call this one. Has Harriman found the rest of the pages to their play book? Or is page 1 still the only one they have? If they're still on page 1 then Greenback by 21. If they found the rest of the pages then Harriman by 10.
  16. Way to go to the Gibbs bunch . . . (snicker) guess 14 was a little much huh?
  17. That's what I was saying. It's like a bunt in little league baseball. The batters aren't tremendously skilled or blinding fast, they just wanna get the ball in play and give the defense the chance to make mistakes. I think it does take a great deal of talent to run the spread the way it was designed to be ran. You spread everyone out to pass is one advantage but like you said the spread is actually designed to make the run easier by making the numbers more favorable in the box. The talent part of the equation is you need a very heady set of skill players especially QB and all 11 have to be able to take care of their own assignment. That's the true meaning to my original post, do you all see the actual talent to be running this offense or is it a lack of individual ability to stop it on defense?
  18. What does everybody think? Do most "spread" teams in classes A & AA in Tennessee truly have the talent to run this offense or is it a case of "let's see what happens". You know kinda like bunting in little league, the batters aren't really that skilled, the just want to get the defense throwing the ball around hoping they'll make some errors the offense can capitalize on. What do ya think?
  19. Any word on how Kingston did tonight?
  20. The most important thing at the end of any play is to still have the ball. Hard to win if you give it away. Best of luck to the Indians. Y'all are young, it'll come.
