  1. Posted by Scots50: Hey FBD, I think ole Wes needs to come on down to the Bread of Heaven in Alcoa and see the best football fans in ETN. What do you think? For what it's worth the above statement was the SECOND POST ON THE FIRST PAGE of the KNOXVILLE Prep Football Coverage thread, not BLOUNT Co. or ALCOA Prep Football Coverage. Face it man, like it or not, y'all are in just about every popular thread whether it has anything to do with Alcoa or not. Not that it's that big of a deal to me but I thought I would put that up there since it was literally in the very next thread I went to after reading your post. Then again I guess all someone has to do to solve that is beat you huh?
  2. I'd say that sounds right. Anyone standing in the shade on a hot & sunny summer day can tell a significant & immediate increase in temp. when they walk into direct sunlight. "(Exposure to direct sunlight can increase the HI by up to 15°F.)" for HI monitors . . . & FOOTBALL PLAYERS.
  3. Like I have been saying, just let me know when & where.
  4. No one knows, or just don't care to share?
  5. Spin it however you need to so you can sleep at night if you want. The fact of the matter is THE HEAT INDEX IS TO BE ASSESSED WHERE PRACTICE IS TAKING PLACE. If you are practicing in the shade then that's fine. Most are practicing in direct sunlight therefore that is where the device is to be. The heat index rule is not a "check it once & done", it is to be CONTINUALLY CHECKED THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF PRACTICE. The reason the meter reads higher in direct sunlight than in shade is because . . . well He!! it's hotter in direct sunlight than in the shade. Like I said earlier, if your practicing in the direct sun & are assessing the index in the shade then spin it however you need to so you feel like your doing the right thing. If you really don't want to worry about it then just leave the thing in the AC'd coaches office & take your reading after practice. Shouldn't have any worries that way
  6. Are the tigers still gonna spread the field on O or are they gonna be a little more balanced since superman left metropolis for centre?
  7. Top players in the district? You have to be kidding. The England kid is an athlete, I'll give him that, but he's not top tier material. Don't know if he is even top 20 material in the district. There's no way your list is accurate to anyone but you. On another note, have you given any thought to my earlier offer to "make it interesting" on a couple of your games this year? Or are you all talk?
  8. You must be crazy! Sunbright will be lucky to beat 3 of the other 6 in their district. Tell you what, you let me know if your interested in meeting at the Oneida or the Oliver Springs games & we'll make it interesting. If the money's right it would be worth a couple hour drive to make some EASY $$$$$ . . . & watch you eat your crow sandwich
  9. I see that district shaking out as: 1. Oneida (easily), 2. Oliver Springs,3. Wartburg, 4. Sunbright, 5. Coalfield, 6. Jellico, & 7. Oakdale. As for players : Sunbrights QB has potential but unfortunately no one to throw to & no one to keep the heat off of him. Hope he can throw on the run, Oliver Springs has a pretty good back that will give some problems to average defenses, Oneida has several weapons but the two biggest that come to mind are the big tight end / D-end & the Woodard kid at wing / safety, Wartburg had a pretty good receiver last year but I'm not sure if he's gone or not, he just didn't have any one to throw to him, maybe he should transfer to Sunbright
  10. The young man sobbed in the coaches office for over an hour saying how sad he was that he had to leave. After praying over the situation, the young man left, and the coaches sat in their office saddened at the situation. It wasn't about playing sports, it was about giving up a Christian education. That was the sole reason the parents sent their son there in the first place. If it wasn't about football but about the education then why wasn't the young man sobbing & praying in the principle's or an adviser's office? As for the question you asked no it wasn't recruiting, yes it was inappropriate benefits & if playing DI he should not have been eligible for VARSITY sports.
  11. I thought tornado's were WINDY . . .it's been over a week & still nothing. I guess now I'll have to hear how the mighty Alcoa faithful are "above responding to such nonsense" or how "THAT SORTA BS DON'T DESERVE A RESPONSE". Well come on big WINDY, we're all waitin.
  12. Props to Cobb. No arguement here. Once again you demonstrate my point regarding your total lack of knowledge regarding high school football. I assume you are talking about Bell County KY. For the record, Bell County's team last year would have destroyed most of the teams in East Tn. Go watch tem play and learn for yourself. Better, take your dirt water program up there. You will come home with your face kicked in. The adds and drops you refer to are the William Blount and Heritage players that transferred in thinking they would start because they come from a 5A/6A program only to find out they cannot make the JV second team. Their departure is best as they will never play at Alcoa. And guess what...the transfer in and out routine will continue as players learn their talent will not get them on the field at Alcoa. No boo hoo here. Just rolling on the floor laughing at a person that is so insanely envious of the Alcoa program that he can only attack. Girl's softball is calling you....... So I guess the majority of the varsity Tornado's are local, i.e. Alcoa born & bred? I don't know if I'd want to bring attention to this matter, Alcoa sure is a small town to "produce" all that talent
  13. Heard he BRIEFLY stopped off up in Oneida
  14. Sorry to call you out butchie, I should have known you would have deleted it since it made you look like a horses . . . well you know. Hey one question, did you delete all your trashing posts on the MCK thread too?
  15. You must be outside your mind. Sunbright has NEVER had a perfect season. They did however go 10 - 1 one year which is pretty darn good but it just says that they probably didn't play a very hard regular season schedule & then got their kitten tails spanked come playoffs. I mean really, blow through the season to get smacked in the first round. There will be an excuse coming just as soon as ole tiger reads your post. Man he just smooth ignored my post . . . ole tigger must be slippin' Is my computer working OK? tigger just keeps ignoring my post & jumping around like an idiot. Maybe he's scared of a battle of wits, after all he would be bringing a knife to a gun fight . Come on tigger . . . here kitty kitty.

  18. Didn't mean to offend with the use of the word "turmoil". I have a ton of respect for the Oneida program & have no doubt that the staff & players are working hard & will be well prepared this fall. Kaz you said it well, I guess "settle into place" is a better way of phrasing it than I did. Probably not a lot of discussion because not many are sure how things are gonna shake out just yet. Anyway best of luck this season, I will be pulling for the Orange & White on Fridays & Saturdays.
  19. Not much talk about the Indians this spring, guess the reservation is in a little turmoil.
  20. C'mon Nancy, y'all have got plenty to worry about before you can claim any kind of "title".
  21. I didn't bother reading all this topic I just wanted to say best of luck to the dawgs this season. I'm sure they will find their way.
