  1. Well.....I believe somebody gets it. You Southers can't see past your nose. I warned you. Look for defections, chaos and the calling for heads. Too late. Look for 3-7 for 2011 if you're lucky. You reap what you sow.
  2. Prominent. Yes. But, I did not say my circle. I am an outsider just like you. As much as you wish it were true, fact is you do not speak for all South parents and fans. I had said they would start 0-3, they went 1-3. I also said I hoped they win the rest, but that would only temporarily mask the long term problems of which no small part are the self proclaimed "insiders" such as yourself.
  3. Ahhhhhh...Another sermon from the compman. Have you considered in some circles you would be considered the outsider? I wish the South kids nothing but the greatest success, but although there have been positive developments lately, you Southers are in for a tough road the next few years. You will see and since you seem to take credit as teacher, gatekeeper, preacher, and recruiter I'll lay it right on you.
  4. And let's hope all the know it alls will leave this young man and his family ALONE. There are some on here that would like nothing better, to fufill some weird need in their lives, to be able to say I got so and so to come to South. They have no dog in the hunt and no business in their business.
  5. Thanks for asking. Yes, I was at the game with friends cheering on the South side. Glad they got an uninspired and mistake prone Boone, made some changes and won this one. I am sure after they handily take care of Gate City, the coaches will get a ticker tape parade down Henry Dr. and their praises will be shouted from the mountain tops. But, if you feel this alleviates the problems, especially the long term ones, typically you would be seriously mistaken.
  6. I knew exactly what he was saying and I did tell you so. My motive initially was meant as a warning of what was coming in hopes of changes. I take no pleasure in the downfall of the South program as I know some of the parents and players involved. Also, I don't care how important you are in your own mind, how you feel about me or what I post. I do care and hope that people wake up before the next contracts are signed.
  7. As opposed to some on here that spout page upon page of nonsense, I have not been wrong. South may beat Boone. I wouldn't take them and 14 right now. Now, what I state was started under Carter and taken to the extreme this year. Many programs long lasting downturns start this way. There for sure are potential players in South's halls as there are at all schools. I know of no particular one here, but you will see in the next year or two what I mean. Do a poll of the players. And not just the few names that get listed in the paper. Which coaches do they think care about them? Which ones make it fun and are fair? Carter did this pretty well. These coaches??????????
  8. Maybe the problem is who you were sitting around. Mostly pure silliness. It is this thinking that got South where they are today. Putting the Garvin kid in the backfield. Please. May I repeat what I said earlier: Posted 18 May 2010 - 01:50 PM "South loses the 1st three. Bank it. The Good Ole Boy Crew is in way over their heads." Posted 4 days ago "This one was decided months ago. Greeneville Big. Can't hide it. It's not going away." Posted A week ago "The grumbling starts. I figured, as I posted, it would take 0-3 to start hearing from the so call faithful. Well coached teams will take the West game and make adjustments to improve. Could this this happen for South? No. If they had not put all their eggs in just a few baskets, they may have had a chance. They have developed a few players for this game plan and other than a trick play here or there they are stuck. Wrong players, wrong positions and wrong game plan. If one of these players is out a game or two look for a loss to, dare I say it...Vol., Crockett or even Central. Too bad for the players and the true supporters." End Quote. The situation South finds itself in is a direct result of the coaching. They picked out the "superstars" before the first practice, with input from their "cronies" and put the teams future in their hands. Now you want to take it even a step further. It is too late. They haven't developed but these few future "superstars" and are now stuck and scrambling. Laziness? Arrogance? This is precisely why good athletes are walking the halls and not on the field. They had no chance. Again, too bad.
  9. I would have same winners, but SH-Elizabethton closer and Green-South not so close.
  10. This one was decided months ago. Greeneville Big. Can't hide it. It's not going away.
  11. Nothing hard about this one. Just smile pretty for the cameras.

  13. Ha. Here ya go. 1. DB - Kingsport 2. SH 3. DB - Gray 4. DB JV 5. TH 6. SH JV 7. South 8. Vol 9. Central 10. DC
  14. "Man Crush"? Love it. All those words can be boiled down to.......They're screwed.
  15. Is South High School Imploding? Sure. It will be owned by it's arch rival in as little as a year. Is South football imploding? Don't know yet. I believe my prediction somewhere on here was 4 wins. Could a South coach ever be wrong? Absolutely. Can it be whispered here? Absolutely Not. Do some blog to try to keep some small grip of relevancy in their lives? Most.
  16. Hilton is the track coach and a good man. It's too bad for him that Southers will be calling for all their heads soon.
  17. That wouldn't be a homer because Boone,TH,DB all had 7 all conference players last year.South had six with one {Ashton}making it on both sides of the ball.So you could say they had seven as well. With Tallman allso getting it on both sides and being the MVP last year, the conference champs get the edge.I'm not sure if anyone doubled up besides those guys DB will take the vast majority of awards. Boone and SH will be well represented. South will have 1 or 2, not 6.
  18. Class, all the way. But they won't mind taking it to South. Will be a long night for the Rebels.
  19. You have proven my point, Exactly. Loyalty beyond reason or common sense. This is what will send South football to the basement for years to come. You just don't see it. It will be the devout that will be yelling the loudest come about.............October. Too bad for the players. As far as giving me choices: Puleaseeeeeeeee!
  20. Whatever. This has more to do with the community than any one individual. I'm sure Rowe is also a "good guy". Didn't even know of him until tonight. You can break my post down anyway you wish, it won't get you any more wins or lose me any sleep. You'll see. Oh, so now this has to do with the community. I guess I need to go back and reread your post. I missed that part. You are bashing South...you are bashing the staff. I won't stand and allow you to do that. Now, if you had attempted to address this situation from a more respectable point of view then maybe it could have been deliberated. With the pros and the cons considered. But your mind is already made up. All you are intending to do is say...I told you so. I want to see what you have to say if in fact it doesn't turn out quite the way you have invisioned. Please, maybe next time tender your words a bit differently. Maybe some intelligent dialogue will ensue instead of harsh rebuttal. HAGD Should have simplified it for you. The FOOTBALL community. Coaches, Parents, Boosters. Not the kids. They will suffer. Over analysis will get you no where. I don't have a "situation" to be more respectful of. From your point of view the truth looks disrespectful. Cronyism. Look it up.

  22. West will have a great year. South's only advantage is home field. Not enough. Greenville is loaded and want more this year. Wiped out Morr. West in spring game. South's normally loyal following will be hollering after this one. Boone knows how to win now. It is all about speed and hitting. South has it but either dont use it or don't know how to use it. If their QB goes down forget it. Done. Sensabaugh will LIGHT IT UP. Record day for him and his team. Now don't come whinin and moanin. Just the facts. Could be. They may have a season similar to Dobyns-Bennett's last one. Coach Carter certainly left us a challenging schedule. I wouldn't count the Rebels out of any of these however. I would imagine any team who has their QB go down might as well forget it unless they are platooning QBs to start with. Why do you refer to South's coaching staff as the "good ole boys" ? Are you referring to the same staff that has been there for the last 6 years? "Good Ole Boys" refers to croynism in this case. Loyalty to the detriment of others or the team. I've got quite a few scouting reports on area teams and if I posted South's here, their heads would explode. The main point I'm looking at is the new coaching situation. Looks like you all have a new alpha male thats taken over and it isn't the head coach, who I'm told is a good guy. I know my advise means nothing here, but forget next season if things remain the same.

  24. I can see that. I'll go with messing with the last 3 first. I think Crockett and Volunteer might be our cellar dwellars this year. Volunteer has just been struggling and Crockett lost a lot, I just don't see them putting points on the board. Central on the other hand, has the best QB in the conference, and I think he will make something happen to at least get 3 wins. I don't think SS will be as low as 4 wins...Gate City Greeneville and Knox West are their pick ups....i see at least 2 wins out of there, GV seems to be loaded again. I see them winning against Crockett Volunteer Central....Tenn High and them will be a great match up I think, Boone and them should be a good game as well as Boone hasn't beat South in over 11 years! Science Hill will be an emotional game so that one could go either way.....I will not even comment on the DB game I just want to stay away from that one thanks I see TN High in the same position South is in this year, as from what has been written and posted either of those teams have excellent chances of making deep runs. Science Hill is the unknown, as we can't really tell from the scrimmage if they will have something good or something a little better than mediocre. I still think 2011 is their year. I still think this year could come down to DB vs DB and one of those teams being 9-1 and 10-0 when it is all over. South loses the 1st three. Bank it. The Good Ole Boy Crew is in way over their heads. DB could win them all if 2 or 3 key people stay healthy. Boone's on a roll. Tenn. High is a question mark. Carter moved when the talent arrived.
  25. Posted by request to get on record. (No offense intended) 2010 Regular Season Dobyns-Bennett - 8-2 Science Hill - 7-3 Daniel Boone - 7-3 Tenn. High - 6-4 Sullivan South - 4-6 Crockett - 3-7 Volunteer - 2-8 Sullivan Central - 2-8
