  1. Boles is a solid back, but I would like to see Starnes get a few more touches than what he had last year. I watched this young man carry the Buffs last year against Cloudland, IMO he runs north to south a bit better than Boles does. Not taking anything away from Boles though.
  2. I've been hearing some buzz from people around the WG area that Reinhart could be the starter this year, but it is just June, so who knows. I have also heard that his younger brother, who is a freshman, could turn some heads on the defensive side of the ball this year.
  3. I don't think there is any doubt Greeneville will have a powerback, and a good one at that, but i'm just curious to see who it will be.
  4. Collins has improved quite a bit at the QB position for CD since he first began playing, and I don't know that there will be a more well balanced backfield than CD's this year (except maybe Greeneville with Shuffler, but I don't know who their "between the tackles" tough yardage back will be?).
  5. I have heard that CD is returning most of their O-Line back this year, is that not the case?
  6. Well first, if you haven't been living under a rock for the past two years, you know that Greeneville will beat every team in the BRAC as bad as they want to, but after that it gets pretty interesting. The game that I'm looking forward to most this year in conference play will be Chuckey Doak and West Greene. These two teams should be the obvious choices to play for second. West Greene has some huge holes to fill on defense losing Ball (Emory and Henry) and Strange (Tusculum) at LB, but I doubt Chuckey Doak or almost anyone (except Greeneville) will be able to stop West Greene's offense this year. After that I would assume that Malone out at Claiborne won't let his Bulldogs fall too far down the Conference ladder. I'll give fifth to a still young Grainger team who has alot to improve on still. Cumberland Gap will be sixth IMO, and for the first time in a good while South Greene may just bring up the rear in conference play, losing almost all of their offense and skill positions. Just my thoughts.....I wish the season started tomorrow.
  7. West Greene took two games from Cumberland Gap Monday and Tuesday and finished up at 4-8 in conference play. Word is that they will play CD in the first round. Should be an interesting game seeing that they split in the season. Greeneville will get a bye first round most likely,South Greene will most likely play Claiborne in the second seed spot. Grainger will have Cumberland Gap I think. These are all just speculation because im not sure about the exact records and CD still has a makeup game vs Greeneville and there may be other ones as well. Just my thoughts
  8. I have seen North Greene play two or three times this year and I can tell you that their players are the Britton girl and the Mcneese girl. Mcneese is a freshman that can flat out play. Best I have seen in a while. Britton runs the point and Mcneese is a two or three, not sure which.
  9. I have seen both teams play this year, Unicoi in a Hall of Fame game and Hampton in the Greene County Thanksgiving Tournament. No disrespect to a great Hampton team who I believe will have a great year this year, but I think Unicoi pulls this one out in a close game.
  10. Might as well get this one started as the season is almost on top of us with football over for all but one school. What is everyone's predictions for this year's season?
  11. Final from The Range was: West Greene-49 South Greene-35
  12. Final from The Range tonight: Unaka-28 West Greene-21
  13. Bud I think you hit it on the head with those summarizations. Especially with the West Greene game. That entire quarter was just sloppy football. The Buffaloes looked like they wanted to be in a million different places then where they where last night. I was impressed with Chuckey Doak, grant it they were playing North Greene, but the offense moved the ball well. Looked like they have developed a decent passing game that could help Juice enough to surprise some teams this year definitely. Greeneville was top of the class without a doubt. I have a question though, when Grainger moved the ball on them, was that some of their second string defense, or all of the starters? Seemed to me like there may have been some subs in. Shuffler will be alot better quarterback than what some people are expecting I believe, but lets face it, the kid is an athlete. He will get his yards one way or another. Im seeing the conference as follows: 1. Greeneville 2. Claiborne 3. Grainger 4. West Greene 5. South Greene 6. Chuckey Doak 7. Cumberland Gap
  14. That is great news to hear. Injury looked rough to say the least.
  15. I was at the Cosby West Greene scrimmage a few days ago, and I don't kow if it was that West Greene played terrible, or that Cosby played that good, but the mighty Buffaloes only won 8-0. I am a proud supporter of West Greene, but I have to give Cosby some credit here, they definitely surprised me. The quarterback that Cosby has (number five I believe?) was lightning fast. Our entire defense was having trouble containing him, and that is saying something considering WG had the second ranked defense in the BRAC last year. Also, I would like to send out my prayers to the kid that was hurt on the last play of the scrimmage. It was a shame to see that happen in a scrimmage. Does anyone have any updates on how he is?
  16. Was anyone at the scrimmage against Cosby? I know it is still early, but I was not pleased at all with our teams performance. I just don't think winning 8-0 against Cosby is a very good showing. I know it is still early, but I have some major concerns from watching that game.
  17. 1. Greeneville 2. West Greene 3. South Greene 4. Grainger County 5. Chuckey Doak 6. Cumberland Gap 7. Claiborne County
