  1. Chavez looked good early on the kick off team as well he made two tackles on two kicks in a row...they double teamed him on the third one. The whole JV looked real good. I think it was a total shame it took so long to get em in the game tho. We had a really big lead and could have gave some boys a look a lot earlier in the game, might wish we did as we go deeper in the season. Look forward to a good game friday night. Rebels by 10 at least. I read in a post that Vikings struggle some in the secondary not good for them if thats true. The REBELS passing game looking better every game, not many dropped balls lately and the O line is picking up D line stunts better as well. Hope for a safe and fair game friday. GO REBELS!!! P.S. Champion, Reed, and many many more Vikings have played some great football in the past...I left a few games early to see em play as well. haha
  2. From the Jackson Sun: Freshman player has feeling after neck surgery BY BRANDON SHIELDS BJSHIELDS@JACKSONSUN.COM — Brandon Shields, 425-9751 • September 20, 2010 Print this page E-mail this article Share Del.icio.us Facebook Digg Reddit Newsvine Buzz up! Twitter FarkIt Type Size A A A Gleason football coach Noah Lampkins said Sunday afternoon that Bulldogs freshman player Drake Danesworth has feeling throughout his body after suffering a broken neck on Friday in a game at McKenzie. "He went through surgery (Saturday) morning, and the outlook is pretty good so far," Lampkins said. "It's still a wait-and-see approach, but he's got feeling and is able to move. "He's been talking with all the people visiting him, and he's in good spirits." Lampkins said the injury happened in the fourth quarter. "Both teams had their JV guys in there, and Drake chased a player down and made the tackle," Lampkins said. "He went over the top of him and hit the ground face mask first, and his neck buckled under that pressure. "It wasn't anything where he tackled wrong or anything like that. It was just a freak injury that could happen to anybody. He was out there making an effort for his team trying to make a play." The awkward landing caused a fracture to one of the vertebrae in his neck. "They took him to Le Bonheur in Memphis, where they performed surgery to do repair work and stabilize everything," Lampkins said. "The doctors said they feel good about the outlook. If everything goes well, that will be the only surgery he has to have." Lampkins did praise the work of team trainer Daniel Clements and the McKenzie Emergency Response team. "The doctors said Daniel did everything he needed to do at the scene because it could have been bad if he'd done anything wrong," Lampkins said. "And the emergency workers from McKenzie did a good job getting there quickly and taking care of him." This football fan and family sure have him and his family in our prayers.... Jeremiah 33:6 "Behold, I will bring you health and cure, and I will cure you, and will reveal unto you the abundance of peace and truth."
  3. Good Game!! Sorry fellas no 10+ W for you guys this time. Both teams played a good game tho. GO REBELS!!
  4. Well Butchie swing is a Milan fan it seems...most of his posts are slams to other posts. And heck nah we dont want to see B in Daisy Dukes...but you might want to be carful round the flagpole Butchie...

  6. Congrats to a good Camden Football Team!! Great game Lions. Both teams will have pickle jars installed on Monday. Cramp city for both, it was one hot night. We got the 1st game behind us now and I hope we can repeat a long winning streak like last year after the opening loss to Camden. Camden's running game ran all over us and when they didn't we handed em 5 yds for lining up off sides 5 or 6 times on D. I don't think I have ever seen that many penalties on a D line for lineing up offsides in one game. That and too many missed tackles against a good team and we paid for it with a loss. Hopefully we learn from this and the D line coaches will make some adjustments this week in practice. Camden does have a good offense and we will be better for playin em. We all hope Hargrove is gonna be allright he played his heart out as did many of the boys did last night. We seemed to miss the opportunities we had. The offense was pretty penilty free, so we did learn from the jamboree. Looked to me like the receivers and QB were outta sync on there routes and several times the guys looked like they didn't know if they were supposed to be in the game or not. Lots of running in and turning right back around to run off again. 1st game stuff I'm sure it will all get sorted this week. The players and coaches had a good measuring stick last night and now the tweaking will start. The line blocked pretty good last night and they had some big ones to block. We had some nice runs and the two TD pass's looked good as well. When it all comes together and it will, should make for some good games to come. Heads up fellas!
  7. The Fighting Butchies?? I guess maybe as long as there fighting. LOL!! Camden didn't look to bad at the jamboree, they run the ball extremely well it will be a test for our run defense for sure. Good Luck REBELS!
  8. Camden won a really close game last year AT HOME, its at our house this year....whoopin sure sounds in order. GO REBELS!! The real play book opens up this week, we all get see what Coach has been up to.
  9. GREAT GAME REBELS!! First game is behind us and with all the new faces in new places you leave it with a nice W. The D looked really good nice work fellas. The yellow rags have been a pain for a while now hopefully that will slow down as the season starts next friday. The running game was awesome, nice work O line I think my ole slow self could have run through some of them big holes. The passing game has enuff comments above so I'm leaving that one be, hopefully the jitters are over now. It was nice to be in RED friday night and we should all be proud of a good, clean and no injury game. We have played UC alot and we still got the WIN (not 3-3 this time). We are off to a good start can't wait to see how the Camden game goes. GO REBELS!!! MRP!!

  11. McKenzie has Trenton Sept 10 and Humboldt Sept 24 those should be two good games. Good to hear the both of you are looking good this year. Can't wait for some games under the friday night lights. You guys did lose a very talented QB. McKenzie is starting a new QB as well should be a interesting season. Rebels have a lot of new faces and it will soon be time to see if we can execute the game plan. Good Luck Vikings!
  12. WOW!! Great scrim REBELS!! Lexington has a very good running game and for the most part our fellas looked real good as a whole. It was nice to see we were making alot of contact at the line of scrim but we didn't allways rap em up. I saw Coaches chewin some butt with the D but thats coaching. I also seen the coaches giving out lots of praise and some HI 5's on the big hits. Way to go D!! Its gettin close to friday nite time! Can't wait. The O line blew open some holes and the backs found em. Running game looked really good. Pretty awesome when one of the biggest hits is from your running back on a defender, that was some popping, everyone over on the grassy hill were like "OOOOooo" . On offense there was some timing issuse with tho option early but some of that was the stunts from the Lexington D. The O line seemed to have it all sorted by the 2nd series of offense. The passing is gonna be exciting this year it looked great. Lots of moving away from pressure and making good decisions with the ball. You know I just didnt think about it being our centers first time playin center? My bad on that he is doing a GREAT job you should be one proud papa. Lots going on with the Lexington D line jumpin all over the place before the snaps and the line did awesome with all Lexington threw at them. You know that will pay off big time as the season move along. Well under the bright lights this friday should be some good football to watch. Thanks REBELS for a great scrim!!!
  13. Camden game was a great game last year, we just came up a lil short. Can't wait till we get em this year. Good to hear they are looking good it will tell us early where we stand. Last year the boys bounced back for a great season. Well Im going to be at the practice field tonite...my first time to see the boys in action this year. Hope we hose the Lexington bunch. Cya tonite fellas.
  14. UC will scrim McKenzie Tuesday nite at UC....We can't wait to see you guys on the field Tornado's! We lost a few but we got a few new faces. Cya Tues @ UC. Good luck. We get you again in the jamboree @ Huntingdon. Should be a good scrim.
  15. Howdy fellas, I'm new to this forum, but am a big Rebel fan. Great to hear that the scrim went good for the boys down in McNairy. The Rebels have played alot of great football and it looks to be another big season for em. Looks like there have been lots of changes from last season with the grads and incoming freshmen from what I've read here and heard. But good to hear they have started to gel into another team to be dealt with on friday nights. Whats that ole sayin TEAM me (big team, little me). GET'EM REBS!! MRP!!
