  1. It was a very good game. Dude I didn't know who to cheer for, but you cant judge a dog by its size- its the bite of the dog that hurts and the Owls bit hard and often. Man your son is an athlete. If only his could have started when Polk(22) and company was there and made it to the semi's, who knows what would have happened. Its only the first game, but I see some of that young talent I mentioned earlier showing up. I told you guys the Owl would play football, although I favored the Rams in that match-up Friday the Owls remained constant with there game. They didn't almost give it up in the second half. The Rams made some minor adjustments, but the Owls stayed true. Good win guys and great class. will follow you guys-great fan base(Randell Freemans a stud dude and that skinny receiver is good too) see yah "GOOSEDAD"
  2. You have to talk about the off/def line play because it all starts there. Pickle juice also causes gastric disturbances not only will the Rams have leg cramps, they will have stomach-aches. The Owls will reload in time, just give coach Williams a couple of years to get some of those bigger kids that don't wana play to play. I've seen them out there Ooltewah has plenty. I want talk about EH anymore because they won't win hardly any game. The Rams are better(on the roster), but they will have to bring there -A- game tonight to win, but they should win. close game tonight
  3. Exactly like I said the Owls if they play good football can win. They will have to get on top of the Rams and stay on top.The thing your missing is line strength and the owls lack in that department. Dude the owls have some talented kids, but the Rams are loaded. I'm neutral here because I like both teams. My predition is that the Rams role 28-14. Remember although the Rams have Big kids on thier front like Powell-- is he in good condition?? 4 quarters of hot football. In the McCallie scrimmage the Owls looked like they where well conditioned and they played fairly well. Boy this will be interesting. the Rams always seem to cramp up every year during hot weather games, and everyone has seen it in the past. Coach Williams will have the Owls ready. lets have a good game.
  4. The Owl are being respected, because they are the team to beat. The last few years they have dominated area teams. Its just that alot of that talent has left and now will be dispersed between EH and Central. The Owls can win if they play. Most of the sports writers and fan polls are based on potential and Tyner has more potential to win with the talent that is presently on thier team. Ooltewah will have 4 round(quarters) against Powell(6'4 300lb) and company. Travis Jones will score alot if the Owls don't contain. Owls are young and small, but still very athletic. Wayne Turner will win tonight if his kid perform to thier potential. The Owl will have a long hard road this year-
  5. Saw the Rams and there are some big kids on there team. I hear the Powell kid is listed at 6'4 and around 270lbs and a sophmore(D1). The defensive end looked tall also around 6'5.. If these kid execute the wing-t correctly with the athletes I saw, man it could be terrible. Remember They have to play 4 quarters of football, which team is better conditioned?-who knows. Tommorow will tell. Remeber to drink your pickle juice.
  6. You must be Goose mannings dad. Dude I have watch your son(s) both of them over the years and they are very talented players- able to play with anyone. Should have used him more at quarterback when Matthew Polk was there. With him handing off or running they may have scored against Oakland(maybe). Anyway Ooltewah will play football on Friday night,Tyner is a better team this year, but may barely have the edge over the Owls. My question is if the Owls fall behind can thier new coach handle the pressure. Wayne Turner will then try to pour it on. TJ Davis- is he the young running back I saw at the scrimmage get drove into the fence. This kid is awsome and if its the kid i'm thinking of he's going to break some rushing records. He need some weight on him and need to turn it up field more, but that will come as he matures(great talent). Tyner will not make the mistakes made last year- but will make mistakes- not enough to loose the game though. Both team will come out a bit flat and unsettled, settle down Owls and play some good football.
  7. I'm not writing this to destroy anyone's team, but the owls did not look good again. They should've at least put seven on the board against Central. If tey cannot disrupt the offensive line and get penetration through the line of Tyner. Them they will loose big. You see to stop the Rams, the front four have to disrupt the flow and pentrate the O-line allowing the line-backers to make the reads and tackles. Last year Jaquez did a lot of that and Patty and Crew made some good plays. This year I have yet to see a great defense. Rams may Blow the Owls away if changes aren't made.
  8. The Rams will cramp up, but put on a good show. Has any discuss the jamboree games tonight. Owls versus Central???? Man this will be interesting. Remember when all those kid crossed the district lines to play for Monroe. Now more kids will stay at Central or attend East Hamilton. Ooltewah may fall into a whole that pretty deep and be there for several years. could be interesting
  9. All teams are gauged on past teams and performances. It just a comparative means for measuring what you have today. Evan Tyner team are measure against that team that won the state. So there is no-way anyone can not live in the past cause it is a good measuring tool and it makes for good discussions.
  10. Rhea County does not have a good team, but they have some good looking uniforms. I only went to few owls games last year and i believe Rhea is a scheduled team now. The big Red will scrap with any team. They don't have the Jaquez Smiths , Matthew Polk, Sammy Seamster, Brian Marshalls and other talented guys, but they will compete. Remeber Que Jackson- that dude could penetrate the middle and just about take the hand-off exchange from the quarterback. The owls don't have that this year the young back(#1) that i saw in the McCallie scrimmage ran to the edge and didn't attempt to turn up the field. On the other hand Freeman took it to them and so did Goose(experience players). The best way to run the ball is off tackle which requires ball security and offensive line drive. The line has to utilize technique not just power. The Owls have good technique , but i saw some of the offensive line guys take plays off. Remember it was hot that day. They will get better, but have a very tough schedule
  11. That is what Coach T makes his player drink on hot days to reduce cramping. I myself would just eat alot of banana"s which are high in potassium, which will reduce muscle cramps but nothing beats good ol water. Both teams better hydrate or they will fall flat on their backs with legs pointed to the sky. Good luck Owls i know they'll be ready. Owls also need a better turn out of kids next year. I know that there are some 6'2(230 plus) and probably bigger kids attending. Coach will need to sell his program and himself to these kids and they will play. Its his first year and with time this program will be eventually better than previous years, If th e fan don't run him off during these crutial years of re-building(owls reload baby). yeah
  12. It won't be a flogging, but it will be a good game. As I stated earlier I played for Coach Turner and I now live in Ooltewah and I have enjoyed several years of good football. Believe me Ooltewah has had some talented kid playing for them in the past and they have some talented kids now, but just not as talented as past years. Trust me those Owls will not lay down, their goin to fight. I personaly know and have watch a lot of this kids grow up from middle school and they are great kids. I have also visited other schools practices and scrimmages. like I said Tyner might be a tad better on the maturity and athletic side, but do they have the discipline? Tyners play calling is limited to. The Owls will score, but can they slow the mis-direction hands off plays thay Tyner is well known for. We'll see. Remember Tyner will make alot of mistake and so will the Owls dude. It hot outside remember and thier just kids trying to win. I love both teams personaly. If Oolewah corrects the few mistakes made in the McCallie game it could either way, but I'm closing the gap Rams 21 owls 14 with pickle juice. Owls 14 rams 7 without pickle juice- Awwwww the cramps dude.
  13. Exactly. like I said Tyner will be good and be hard to stop if they play with discipline and with little penalties. Last year they played poorly at first , but Wayne Turner made adjustements at quarterback and maybe some other positions. I saw that kid, I think his number was #2 (the Jones kid D1) for Tyner he's awesome. I think the adjustment where made prior to the Tyner -McCallie game last year. Tyner will be much improved this year. I played for Wayne. Ooltewah will be a better team on opening night also, but I think they lack depth and experience. They can move the ball down the field as they did against McCallie, Its there defense that looked kinda out of place at times. Remeber it will be the first game for both and a lot of mistakes will be made by both teams. both teams will have four quarters to work them out. Tyner by 14, by the way who's kicking field goals for Ooltewah?
  14. I was at the McCallie-Ooltewah scrimmage and clearly McCallie performed on a higher level of play. Only because they had a little more size up front. Ooltewah has no pass rush up the middle and on offense Goose looked good when he roled out of the pocket. Randell Freeman is a beast and will get the bulk of the carries, but he plays both ways and is very capable of doing such. Hope he can stay healthy. The other players where unsure of themselves and didnt look ready to play a McCallie type team. Tyners is not on McCallie level either, but may be a little better than Ooltewah opening night. That game will close only if Oolewah can contain thier speedy backs and on offense don't be scared to catch a ball in front of a defender. Remember your goin to get hit anyway. Thier JV or second team is very small and definitely doesn't look like a 5a team of the future. Maybe a step down in classification is in the future. The varsity is not as good as teams past, but still talented. maybe a 4-6 season.
