  1. They are playing at Clarkrange.
  2. A teacher, coach, parent, etc. should never call a child names such as "dumb" or "stupid." It shows a complete lack of character on the part of the so called "adult." A good coach might call a particular play dumb but never direct such a comment to a high school kid. I have never and would never call my daughter dumb and certainly never direct that type of nonsense to someone else's kid. As a coach you have to get their attention but not by name calling. It's bush!
  3. The Chattanooga area teams are usually pretty weak. CSAS gets the dog beat out of them when they play Clarkrange or JC so this guy's very optimistic. Sounds like Rex Ryan talking.
  4. Well, the "clown" part of your handle is correct. CR beat CC twice last year and have a better team this year than last but CC is tough and has a great coach. We will have to see when they toss the ball. Even you (maybe not) could win with Brown's talent so JC is virtually a lock for taking 7a. As for Lamar I'm sure idiots thought "the run was over" after he three peated in the 90s and again after he won his 8th state championship but his program is the winningest in Class A so instead of making derogatory comments you should show some respect.
  5. I believe you're dreaming. Clarkrange has a better team than it had last year. JC wins 7a but CR is 2d.
  6. Well, that's why they toss the ball up in the air. We will see. CC is tough and has a great coach but CR has the better team and Lamar so we'll see how it plays out.
  7. Clarkrange didn't lose anyone including Dickens. She's a senior now. They swept CC last year and will probably do the same this year. It will again be JC #1 and CR #2 in 7a.
  8. Clarkrange really didn't lose anybody so CR and JC will fight it out for 7a with JC winning the district, the region, and possibly state.
  9. Good point regarding JC being one of the smallest 2A schools and still winning state titles. I didn't even think of that but it's true. I concur with everything you said. Lamar Rogers is certainly the most accomplished Class A coach in the state but I can't argue that Jim Brown won't at least equal those accomplishments himself provided he stays put.
  10. Didn't say he wasn't a great coach, obviously he is but he does what he should be doing with the talent pool he draws from. JC is by far the largest shool in D7 so it would be shocking if they weren't at the top or close to the top of the district every year. IMO he is not the best coach in the district when you have one at Clarkrange closing in on 1000 victories, has won 8 state championships, inducted into the Hall of Fame, etc. all at a school with barely over 200 students enrolled. Best is subjective anyway so I'll withdraw my comment about who's the best and just say that Brown is not the most accomplished coach in D7. IMO D7 has three of the best coaches in the state with Rogers, Brown, and Joe at Clay County.
  11. Jim Brown is a good coach but he's not even the best coach in his district let alone the state. He is blessed with a huge pool of talent to draw from, much larger than most other Class A teams so they should be good.
  12. In the past eight years the Class A state champion has been from 7A 50% of the time, Clarkrange twice and Jackson County twice. 7A will be back next year.
  13. She didn't break her foot but it did have a pin in it already that was loosened in the Trousdale game. Happened in the first half and hampered CR in the 2d half at region. CR will be better next year than this year. Only lost two seniors which will be replaced.
  14. Yes, and we'd have to include 7AA Livingston Academy's 4 state championships as well. Hopefully, some school that's never won it will win this year. I'd love to see Larry White's RBS squad win it. He'd have a heart attack right on the floor.
  15. OK, so 7A has 16 Class A state championships and 20 overall. 14A has 12 total. I agree it's much easier to win the AA title than the single A
  16. Thanks for the clarification. I missed one of Pickett County's. 20 gold balls for 7a compared to 11 looks like a bit of a disparity to me.
  17. Clarkrange - 8 gold, JC - 7 gold, Pickett County - 4 gold. Nineteen gold balls for 7A teams. 14A has that many??? Bradford has 7 so where are the other 12???
  18. That girl from JC wouldn't be 6'4" if she were standing on a crate. She's 6'2" max if that so don't let that bother you.
  19. To date, Clarkrange's record vs. JC is 27 wins, 17 losses. Clarkrange vs. CC is 70 wins, 21 losses. Only Livingston has a better record vs. C'range. Those are the facts. Another fact is that JC has twice the student body than any other school in the district with double the talent pool from which to draw players. Lording over schools half your size should be embarrassing. Also, don't mention transfers from York or should I remind you of the Ross twins. It goes both ways. I wonder how the Lady Vols would do if they played in the OVC?
  20. You've beaten? What position do you play sweetheart? And for the record, CR has a two to one victory to defeat record over JC. So you're right, not much of a rivalry even when a school of nearly seven hundred students plays in a district with other schools with less than three hundred. Must be hard reaching all the way back there to pat your own back.
  21. Clarkrange is never bad. They always produce a good, competitive team. CR and CC are the two biggest rivals in 7A and always have really tough games. The Clarkange state championship team of '04 lost to Clay County three times I believe in the regular season. Something about the buffaloes makes the lady dogs play tougher. Now, if we could only get that 7AA school back to playing schools their own size the old CR/CC rivalry would really be something in 7A :^)
  22. JC wins by 16. I don't know what their 3 point percentage was but it had to be around 90%. CR couldn't hit their outside shots and made a few runs but the threes from JC were overpowering. Their point guard has to be one of the best in the state, she was outstanding and practically unstoppable. Congrats to JC, they played well.
  23. I think 7A will come down to who it always comes down to; Clarkrange or Jackson County. Clarkrange lost a heartbreaker yesterday to Livingston Academy 53 - 51. LA hit the winning shot with 3 seconds on the clock to highlight a comeback when they were down by five with under two minutes to go. CR fought hard and while they made plenty of mistakes they showed alot of grit as well.
