  1. Looking forward to seeing CPA and Alcoa next week in Cookeville. Should be a good one.
  2. Haven't been able to keep up with basketball much at all this year and wont be able to make it tonight but best of luck to both teams. To my friends from mtcs its tough to go into Pc and come out with a win the live for this stuff over there. You also have this being an elimination game going against you. Pc is hard to handle in elimination games and near impossible to beat when you put them on their floor in front of their fans... well its just hard to come out of title town with a win come tournament town. Good luck to all and I hope for an injury free game! The edge is with Pc 74-52
  3. They may not of been the best team you played but they were the LAST lol!!
  4. I've seen Pc play a couple of times this season they have shown a blistering offense and a tough defense. I haven't had time to keep up with things a whole lot, who is the Rb's up in JB this season? I know you guys took a big hit with #1 going down. What is your rb's stats
  5. I just had to get back on here and say thanks to the Pc football team and the Pc fans for a great football season. I'm from across the river but I love that small town ball and you guys symbolize what it is all about. You play with passion and determination that is unequalled by any larger city team. You met a tough one friday night in Jo Byrns and after they got rolling yall just couldn't slow them down but who has. I encourage you to not think about how the season ended but the ride that got you to that point and the feeling you had all week leading up to that game and always remember that you are one of the best teams in single A. There was a lot of teams who would have loved to been in the semi finals but you guys made it, take pride in that and work for next year because I know you will be back. You've only had a football program for around a decade so you have come a long way in a very short period of time, there are a lot of schools who have had programs for 30+ years and never reached the semi finals. Take pride in who you are Perry County you have a lot to be proud of. Jo Byrns your players and fans were very classy you all conducted yourself in a manner that you should be proud of. The team I was supporting was behind but it made it a lot easier seeing the sportsmanship on the field and in the stands. Congratulations Jo Byrns on a great season and in the Championship game I will be rooting for you. Pc players and fans congratulations on a great season you should be very proud and thanks for welcoming this outsider in as one of your own on a weekly bases. I'll be back next year but until then keep on rowing vikings!
  6. It was a long time ago but I was at this game and if I remember right Pc shut down riversides run. They allowed 3 td's in the game 1 was a turnover returned for 6 and i know one if not both of the other two were passing td's. I was told that Pc held Riverside to its lowest rushing yard total of the season but I cant confirm that. Now I have seen Pc play several times this season and they can shut down the running game between the tackles and their speed allows them to cut down anything outside before it can get started. Jo Byrns will mix in the pass to keep things unsettled and to keep Pc from keying solely on the run.
  7. So Pc is this going to be a larger crowd than what was at the Pc Wc game? I was at that game and if it is I had better get there around 2:30!
  8. I have seen both Perry Co and Jo Byrns play this season and both are outstanding football teams. I think the difference in this game will be Pc's speed. JB runs the ball we all know that and they run it well. Its pretty much straight forward I form or Power I all night not a lot of misdirection or disguising anything. Pc's offense is all about running and gunning with everything surrounding Mr Football candidate Jacob Tucker. Pc is the complete package despite all the talk being about the two studs Mercer and Tucker they are about five deep at Wr, have a solid O line all the way across, and the FB is small but is critical to this offense. Jb is big and powerful using fundamentals and old school technique to power their way into the semi finals. They have a couple Rb's who will carry the load all night (can't remember their #'s) and from what i've saw they are very solid up front on both sides of the ball. This isn't the same JB team from last year imo by any means. The difference will be Pc's defense, they are fast and will be quick to fill the hole friday night. The only time Pc has been hurt by the run this year was by C'wood and most of that damage was done in the 1st half then Pc figured out the misdirection stuff and shut them down in the 2nd half. JB is straight forward out of the I and Power I Pc will be quick on the ball and they love contact. It will be a good game but speed will win it for PC.
  9. Almost 36 hours until off!! I can't wait to head over to Pc for this one where we should have two great football teams ready to go for 4 quarters. I know Pc fans are very confident and can come off a little cocky at times but people have to understand that this young football program is just getting going and this is their first above average team and it just so happens that this team is not just above average but a contender for a state championship. Lc has a great football team to and they will be ready to run. This is going to be a shoot out but I think Pc's D can get a few big stops sending them to the semi finals.
  10. Every body needs to just calm down lol this game is nearly a week a way and were already in a war of words. . Oh well coacht wouldn't be coacht without a little smack talk would it? Now to the game, lets just face it you don't get to this point in the season without being a darn good football team so its not like anything will be a given come friday anywhere in the state. I know quiet a bit about both of these teams, Pc has become one of my favorites to watch this season will their explosive offense but both teams have a lot to bring to the table. Let me say this know BOTH teams are FAST so don't under estimate each other. Both teams have really good Wr's Pc may be a little deeper in the play maker category and both teams have very talented qb's. It will be a high scoring game with out a doubt.
  11. No comparison... Les Miles has more discipline
  12. You have to love this small town football! I love how when a small town has a good year in football the whole town jumps right in behind it and supports it to the best of their ability. I can tell that is what is happening in both Pc and Bruceton and it is wonderful. The emotion and passion for these these two teams is going to be hanging thick in the air come Friday night in Pc. What a great time of year.
  13. I'm glad someone has their head on straight. Pc and Wc both need to worry about winning round two before they start worrying about rounds 3 and 4. That being said go Region 6!!
  14. Lol they're a confident bunch but I like that. Your right they have never had much in the football department but they are the real deal THIS year and after all it is the hear and now that counts not the past. They have a lot to be proud of this year including some big wins over some big time teams and a region championship. I'm not a Perry Countian but I am glad to see them climb the mountain to where they are today. Bruceton is making that same trip right now and I think this season is a big step for them and will lead to an improved season next year and good things to come. I'm proud for both of these programs and all of their accomplishments but as always I have to go for my Region 6 teams.
  15. I saw Union City play last year against Wayne Co and they had some studs in the running game. I know the one kid mentioned earlier graduated but other than him who is left in that running attack and how does it compare to last year? Also how is Union City up front this year? I may come watch yall this week but will go across the river to Pc next friday for sure. Congrats to both Union City and Bruceton on this playoff opportunity. Good luck friday night and here is to a injury free game!
  16. I am just glad the brackets are out and we can start looking forward to some cold weather ball. I am happy to see Perry County come over into my neck of the woods in west tennessee (even though they have home field adv) I look forward to seeing some of those match ups. For the last couple of years while keeping up with the west Tn teams I have become a fan of Region 6 ball. They are all good football teams, they all come from small towns, they are all rivalries, they all hate each other then they play each other run each other over get up shake hands say good play and do it over again! Its great football!! I am glad to see pc going up against some very tough west tn competition. Union City is tough and will provide a tough test but Pc is battle tested. Good Luck to all teams from Region 6A!
  17. I have been blessed for years to watch some great football teams with great players. The last few years I have become a fan of region 6A football. One reason why is that this region holds a gem in Qb Jacob Tucker of Perry County High School. He is the best football player in class A in the state of Tennessee hands down. He is better than his numbers show if you can imagine that because they are out of this world.
  18. I have had to take my time to catch my breath before I post on this one. WOW!!!! I have see a ton of high school football in my life time especially a ton of Region 6 A football in my life but I have never seen one as good as the Pc Wc game Friday night. At first I thought Pc was going to run away with it going ahead 22-7 at one point. Pc came out from half a little flat and Wc never gave up forcing it into a tied football game. I said before the game that I had all of the respect in the world for these two teams but after friday night I have even more respect for them. This was two teams fighting heart and soul for one thing which was a region title. This is two teams who have been noted to hate each other yet like another poster commented I got chills while watching Tyler Rice and Jacob Tucker standing at mid field exchanging hand shakes. When I saw this I thought all of this "who is better" debate is so stupid these are two young men doing what they love best to the best of their ability. I hope from now on we can just let them be Tyler and Jacob and let them play. I was really impressed with the sportsmanship of these two teams throughout the game and my hat is off to all of the fans who showed up to cheer their team on it was a great atmosphere. Congratulations to both teams on a great season to far and Congratulations to the Perry County Vikings on being this years 2010 Region 6 A Champions. Best of luck to both teams in week 10 and beyond!
  19. Wow this thread has gone down hill. . . Anyway I am excited about this one, I will be coming across the river for what I expect to be one to remember. Both of these teams are outstanding with some highlight makers and some flat out gammers. I have all of the respect in the world for both teams they have earned there right to be in a game like this with a region title on the line and with all the hype. I won't pick a score nor will I pick a winner I will just let these two teams decide that tomorrow night but I will say to Pc get ready to face a determined Wc squad with one of the best Qb's this region has ever seen. Wc is well coached and they have playmakers in most areas of the game. To Wc I say that I know this one may be easy to brush off because of all the talk that surrounded last years game only to end up in a blow out. I saw Pc last year and I saw the Pc Wc game last year, I never thought Pc had a chance to knock off the cats last year. This year they ain't kidding they are for real. They have great athletes all over the field they are fast and they are physical. They also have one of the best qb's this region has ever saw. Enjoy this one folks because match ups like this don't come around in class A ball that often. Should be rocking tomorrow night in Pc!
  20. Pc has never beaten Wc. But its not like this series goes back decades or anything, Pc started their program in the late 90's and started out in a region across the river with a bunch of private schools. It wasn't until like 04 or 05 that they came back across the river and started play in this region. This game will be worth coming across the river to see Friday night for sure as a couple of the top teams in the state go at it. I will stay true to last weeks region rankings with Pc, C'wood, and Wc sitting a top the region. This game will be a offensive shootout unless Pc's Defense can find the magic it had earlier then Pc could have a little breathing room. Everyone needs to come out and support these two outstanding teams. I promise there will be plenty of fast pace action with some unreal athletes.
  21. Or RB, FB, LG, RG, LT, RT, C, TE, WR, DE, DT, CB, NG, SS, FS, PR, KR, P, PK, Head Coach, Offensive Corr, Defensive Cor, Water Boy, Ball Boy, Equipment Manager, Bus Driver, Head Chef that cooks meals before the game, etc. . He is talented.
  22. I don't know Jacob would probably move away from qb. Watching him play I think he could probably dominate and be all state at any position on the field while tyler is well he is a qb.
  23. Ranking the top 3 teams in this region is useless because they are all very good teams and it is going to be a fight to the finish. The first round of this dog fight starts friday night with Pc and c'wood followed by a couple weeks of heavy weight football.
  24. Well I pretty much go to the best region game of the week on Friday night. I have saw both Wc and c'wood play and on the friday nights that I have saw these teams c'wood has looked like the better football team. I know everyone disagrees with me but c'wood just looked more disciplined and more physical in the games I have seen. From what I have seen as of today Pc is the best team in the region, they are fast, physical, and loaded on both sides of the ball. Come playoff time Wc will be ready and Pc and Wc are going to be hard to knock out.
  25. I haven't seen south pit play in person so I can't really compare them but both Pc and Wc are very good on both sides of the ball with some of the top athletes in class A in the state in the Rice brothers, Jacob Tucker and Dray Mercer.
