I agree that defense dominated the Playoffs. To shut out Maryville and Whitehaven back to back was something hard to imagen! Great job, as I said earlier I think this team ranked right up there with the best teams Rutherford county has ever had!! Congrats to the team and coach Creasy!!

Yes actually, Oakland's offense is impressive. Everybody knows they are going to run the ball, most teams stack the line. Even Whitehaven had 8 near the line of scrimmage at times expecting a run and you just can not stop them! Hence the difference in the time of possession! I would rank this Oakland team right up there with the best teams from Rutherford county. You seen last night they can throw the ball if they need to, but when you are up big by the run what better way to control the game, run run and run. If I remember correctly Oakland came out in the Maryville semi final game in the 3rd quarter and had a 9 minute drive.

I think moving 2A, 4A and 6A to Thursday night was a huge mistake by TSSAA!

Nope there was a Whitehaven penalty on that play that took away that 1st down in the first half! They did not get a first down until 28 seconds left in the 3rd quarter! So almost 3 full quarters before they got their 1st first down. Half time stats showed Oakland with 201 yards total offense 18:10 time of possession to Whitehaven's 26 yards of total offense and 5:50 time of possession!

The Senator said Oakland never dominated Maryville! 28 seconds left in the 3rd quarter before Whitehaven gets their 1st first down! At half 201 yards Oakland 26 Whitehaven. I call this total domination!! 7:53 left in the 4th 27-0 Oakland. Whitehaven still with 1 first down! 31 minutes of possession to 9 minutes of possession for Whitehaven!

26 total yards of offense and no first downs in the first half! Good thing Whitehaven has all that talent on the field.

CONGRATS to Maryville on another state title! Has I have said many times, you guys have the program most teams can only dream of. To have a new coach and not miss a beat, just shows the talent you have in your coaching staff and players. You know when you play Maryville you are going to play the most discipline team you will face! Not to mention you have great trick plays if needed and know when to use them! GREAT JOB YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT! The support the fans give the team is second to none as far as I have seen! Also CONGRATS to Cane Ridge you had a great season keep your head up high only two teams made it to the Championship game and I am sure every team that did not make it would of loved to of been in your shoes! You showed real class last night, BE PROUD!

To put a player in motion, all 11 players must be set. After all 11 players are set, one player may go in motion parallel or back from the line of scrimmage. If the motion player starts before all 11 players are set, it is an illegal shift or motion penalty. So what part of the 11 players was he not! Like I said he never got set and the rule states all players must be set. So I guess he was not a player!!!! LOL

Nope he was on the left end of the line still has to be set before he moves. He was not in the backfield. LOL

Rebelwoman you are correct, he can be in motion but first he has to be set, which he never was so that should of been an easy penalty to call. Most Maryville fan seem to be great people but you guys complain when you get beat by a bad call just as much as anybody else. Whitehaven title game! I agree the worse call or should I say no call of the game happened in the first half when Maryvilles Qb was down on his knees when he threw the ball and it was called incomplete it should of been a sack 3 and 19 not 3rd and 7. But that is neither here nor there it was a great game!

I do not think any team ranked 128 in the nation can say they are Alabama when playing a team ranked 22 in the nation! Lol Don't think Alabama has ever been ranked that low! LOL

I was just using Oakland's rivalry games because when I mentioned that Germany Town with a record of 3 and 8 put up 14 on them which Whitehaven won only 21 to 14. But they do not think Oakland is going to put up 17. LOL They said that was a rivalry game that was why German Town played so well. Like Oakland does not have rivalry game. LOL

You are right I was there also. You also are right about the 0 disciple factor, at the first championship game Whitehaven against Maryville when they got behind it was all over. Late hits, unsportsmanlike calls and offside penalties, they just lost it. If you look at the defensive stats from this year Whitehaven had 12 sacks 12 INTs Oakland had 36 sacks 23 INTs. Not even close. They had 2 close games German Town 21-14 win and White Station 20-14 win, but then again those were rivalry games. Oakland had none. Like Oakland does not have rivalry games lets see Oakland Riverdale 35-7 Oakland Smyrna 49-7 Oakland Blackman38-0, that's just what great defenses do, shut teams down rivalry or not. But there again Whitehaven is the fastest, biggest, best team ever.

LOL So Cordova ranked 16th in the state 615th in the nation can score 19 points on you but Oakland the number 1 ranked team in the state and the 43rd ranked team in the nation can not score 17 points on you. LOL Makes a lot of sense to me, There seems to be a lot of teams between 615th and 43rd. But then I am just a dumb old redneck from the Murfreesboro area.

Well considering German Town scored 14 on you and you only beat them 21 to 14 and their record was 3 & 8. Also 5 other teams scored 14 points or more on you I would say the score will be Oakland 24 Whitehaven 7 Same score I said earlier in this thread.

Let's see actually Maryville had 121 total yards in the 1st half, 99 yards of that came on the hail mary drive ending the 1st half. They gained a total of 67 yards in the second half only 14 rushing in the second half. That means a lot coming from the man himself, George Quarles second to none in coaching high school football in the state of Tn. If he says it is the best he has ever seen, you know Whitehaven has never seen a defense anywhere close to what they are about to face.

Well I will tell you if you can score 21 or more and get the victory I will be one of your new fans. Just make sure if that happen, to Barbecue my crow at that world famous BBQ place you guys told me about that I ate at when I attended the Whitehaven Smyrna game. That was some fine eating. No doubt about it you have the greatest BBQ places, and that would make my crow not taste as bad going down if I have to eat crow! LOL

Excuse me, but the strength of the Oakland defense is the run. Nobody runs on them, teams only averaged around 65 total yards rushing per game all year long counting the playoffs. Not sure where you think the strength of their defense is the pass, teams have to pass because they can not run on them. Easy interceptions. LOL
