  1. Congrats to Chapman on a great game his senior night! That kid doesn't give up. Liked seeing Owenby get a chance at receiving a pass. Glad Loy was able to play. Always enjoy watching him. Still looks like the O-line is having some trouble. Hope they get things worked out this week. Can't help but be concerned about CAK's passing game. Hopefully, Dean's interception at the end was an indication of what will happen. Can't wait for Friday...Go Tornadoes!
  2. Heard Loy is out tonight. Who is his backup?
  3. I think Thomas Loy is pretty intense, myself.
  4. Rankin sets a very good example for his players. Everyone is entitled to their opinion...I think we've established that on this website...but when the fans are sitting as close to the players and coaches as they do at Kingston, they (the fans) need to show more support for the team rather than challenging so vocally every call Rankin and his support staff make. If someone has a problem with Rankin, take it up with him or talk about it on your way to the parking lot after the game or get on CoachT to air it out. But it's not appropriate to be so disrespectful in front of his players. I watched grown men yell at Coach Rankin last night and all those young players on the sideline turn to look up at them. It's disgraceful and shows a lack of support for the Alcoa football program-coaches, players and school.
  5. Warren and Tyson were amazing backs and true leaders, but let's not forget they had an awesome O-line...which I think Warren and Tyson gave credit to a lot. And the defense kept teams at 0 or 1 score for many games. It was very hard for any team to establish an offense against them. Last year's TEAM was the real deal! Don't count this one out, though. There are some pretty tough and talented kids on the team now.
  6. I didn't know the season was over?? Did I miss something?
  7. Someone please tell me that I was misinformed and an Alcoa "fan" did not yell at Rankin in front of the team and tell him to leave and move on to Catholic? That's a disgrace if it happened!!!
  8. Tough night for the Tornadoes. Wish we would have scored more, but it just wasn't in the cards. Hopefully, the guys are able to pick themselves up and continue on. It's not going to help if people keep throwing out how this is the WORST ALCOA TEAM IN YEARS. Congrats to Greenville-we'll see you next year! Let's get that F5 back on track to Cookeville!
  9. There shouldn't be any thing to worry about with the rain, it's the F-5 on it's way that's going to be the problem.
  10. I feel for those boys that want to play this game so bad, but you're right, they need to not push their recovery. There are bigger/more important games down the road. This is a game of two good teams pushing each other to make themselves better. I don't have a prediction. I know what I want, but without Vee, Landon and Mustafa their replacements are going to have to step up big...and not FUMBLE THE BALL!
  11. I think Alcoa will definitely show us some new things.
  12. Heard Vee is good to go, Mustofa taking this week off, Wall took lots of snaps yesterday.
  13. Has anybody heard about DJ, Vee and Mustafa?
  14. Thoughts and prayers from Alcoa for the young man, his family and his teammates.
  15. I agree with you. I don't think anyone from the top down planned adequately. It appeared many times that the offense seemed frazzled getting the play in. Who was # 74, the O-lineman dragging his running back? Overall, AE came prepared to WIN, not just play, and they executed very well. I'm sure Alcoa coaches and players will learn from this game and be ready for next week's challenge. I hope #10 and #29 recover quickly. Hate to see any of these boys get hurt.
  16. This is going to be a great game! Students and fans are pumped. Both teams have worked hard all year, but especially for this game. Kudos to these boys. To have these two teams be as successful as they have been speaks to the incredible work ethic they possess! Here's to an injury free game for both sides of the ball...GO TORNADOES!
  17. I agree. I'm not taking away from the boy's ability...obviously an outstanding athlete. Just figured he would be able to lead his team to a score.
  18. West had a great catch. Surprised he played. Someone at jamboree last week said he was out having had his 3rd concussion.
  19. I'm sure this assessment is not meant to take anything from the Alcoa boys. I don't think you can say the game was won by these 3 plays. Any score is the result of a team's ability to execute. Alcoa's offense was ABLE to score and Alcoa's defense left Cleveland scoreless. I'm not saying that Alcoa's offense looked it's best. I think the boys and coaches will have some work to do this week as they prepare for Maryville.
  20. So are the "reserved seats" for Maryville fans during the Alcoa game available to others or are they going to whine about that and kick us out?
  21. I agree with you BC. There were several of us up in the stands concerned with the size of the D-line. It didn't look like they were able to get much pressure on the quarterback until Owenby went in. I'd like to see what Loy and Owenby could do on that D-line. Definitely going to miss the energy and leadership Warren and Tyson brought to the game. Someone's going to have to step up and fill those shoes...won't be easy. But that's what scrimmages are about.
  22. I haven't been able to get to practice yet. How do the Tornadoes look?
