Hey RunninRebel, I hope West has a great game and moves to the next round. Nothing against AC, but it would be better for me to say Boone was beat by the State Champions. Someone said on here that West beat a couple of cupcakes from NET, as for the Boone game it was a tough win for West. Boone had six turnovers with two of them being interceptions in West endzone. West played great defense in order to cause these turnovers and if they had not then the score could have very easy been the other way around. Even with 8 minutes to go the score 19-14 with Boone having the ball and West caused two turnovers and scored two touchdowns in the last three minutes. So I am pulling for West to win it all, GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate that this thread has gotten out of line and individuals are upset because of it. Truly it was tragic for the family and everyone involved in Jake's death and should always be a reminder to keep our priorities in place with GOD being first. This game tonight is just a football game for enjoyment and I hope all us pray for the safety of each ball player and those traveling. I read in the paper this morning that Coach Jenkin's main concern about the West team is their speed, so Boone has been bragging on our defense and West has been bragging on their speed, find out tonight which team can back it up. I thought for awhile you were coming on here as VisionBCReality until I read you are disagreeing with him about Boone being dominant. I think the key word for a team is CONFIDENCE. Two ways that a team is setting theirselves up for defeat is overconfident (overlooking, taking a team lightly) or underconfident (doubt whether they can beat a team). I believe a team should have CONFIDENCE in their ability, discipline, and disire no matter what the other team has and then see what is the outcome of the game. Basketball example: When I played freshman basketball a team from Johnson City walked in our gym struting because they had a guy 6'7'' and two 6'5'' and a very fast team. We played team ball with CONFIDENCE and sent them walking out of our gym with their heads hanging because of a 61-21 beating. No matter how good West is I am encouraging Boone to play with CONFIDENCE that they can win. I am sure both teams will play with great CONFIDENCE. Thought you might play for West because of your name and year. It still is a matter of opinion who has the best defense. That is kind of like saying your dad could whip my dad when were in the first grade. I am sure West has a great team or they would not be in round 2 with a 9-2 record against the competition they have played. So instead of it being like the first grade and not knowing whose dad will whip whose, we get to find out Friday night. What position do you play on defense for West?

I can understand you see Boone has a good defense by looking at the stats, but where did you find the stat that Boone does not have the speed to keep up with West's speed? GO BOONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of what we say is a matter of opinion and there is only one way we will know for sure how these teams stack up and I think it will be a great game. Boone was blowed out by Tennessee High in regular season last year and then came back and beat them in the second round when they were 11-0 ranked #1 in the state. For reasons like that is why we believe Boone is able to beat any team. That is not boasting, just having confidence in our team. GO BOONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looked like West handled Young according to the score. I don't think Boone will be shocked because they are expecting a big, fast, and talented West team along the line of Dobyns-Bennett team they played in week 4. Boone by no means are small, slow, and untalented. Boone has handled the big lines and speed of Tennessee High, Science Hill, South and other teams. Dobyns-Bennett 42 Bearden 14 DB has not let a team run over them this year and I don't see Bearden starting a new trend. Now that round 1 is out of the way and no more of this one and done talk, DB will dominant this game because they have the talent, hunger, and desire. I believe this is the right score, but I see it backwards: Boone 24 West 14 Boone has an outstanding defense that is playing with great discipline and not giving up the big plays. If they continue as they have the last 7 games by just giving up 8 pts. per game and the offense continues to pound the run game and excute the passing then Boone can beat a good West team. Determination and more Determination can beat a bigger, faster, and more talented team everytime. Hey RunninRebel, I agree with one of the other post that West probably will not score that high because of Boone's great defensive play in the last seven games. Boone beat a South team that had been playing a lot better ball since you all played them in week one and of course most teams are a lot better later in the season. It looks like West and Boone have had the same type season with early loses and then putting together a good win streak against some good teams. How did Devon Young do against West? You say you have proof that Boone made those cuts and bruises and I think you are being ignorant. One, the boys were playing tackle football and if it bothers you then you may want to take up watching soccer. Two, if Boone players was doing all that nasty that you are lying about then don't you think the refs and thousands of people would have seen a Boone player stepping on a South player or shove their face in the ground? You are grasping for air to find a way to down Boone players, coaches, and fans. The best thing you can do is be quiet, because everytime you go on with this ignorance you are belittling yourself and misrepresenting Sullivan South.
